    I admire people who have the nerves and skill to do this sort of thing.

    Ein gutes Automatik Werk aus Pforzheim. Präzise und robust.Mein Vater hatte seit 1970ern eine 1561er Automatik Uhr.Der Sound beim Aufzug ist einmal ..prrrr. (-:

    that is really cool and crazy to think of all the movements in a watch to keep time. mice work you make it look easy.

      Thank you.
      They've fascinated me for as long as I can remember, same with anything mechanical.
      I see you've posted the first Toon tank video, I'll be checking that out to see what you do with it.

      Thank you.
      It's a really nice little watch.
      I have just had to remove and re do the mainspring barrel with a stronger breaking grease as it's slipping too much but otherwise a really nice movement, a world away from the east German offerings.
      It has a very nifty quick release barrel design. Similar in idea to the EB8800

      Very kind, thank you.
      What did you think of the footage with background?
      This being a fairly straightforward movement I didn't want to go in depth with descriptions so thought I'd try this.

    Awesome! Bought a watch containing this one today as my first mechanical watch. It does, however, run approx. 4h/day fast, so I hope your video can help me out, there. If it doesn't, I'd be forever grateful if you would tell me how exactly to operate the + - above the balance jewel.
    Amplitude seems to be very low on mine, maybe 110 degrees. Any guess to what could be the problem?
    Also, it seems that I cannot set my date wheel via the crown. It does flip over to the next day when I go past midnight.
    I did post a video on my channel of the balance running, if that helps at all.

    • @spidiq8
      @spidiq8  Год назад +1

      If you're looking at a 4hr discrepancy you're not going to dial that out on the regulator. That will give typically about 4 min either direction.
      Chances are it's running with a low amplitude and/or magnetised or with an oily hairspring.
      You can try to demagnetise but odds are it'll need a service.

    • @rosenscharf
      @rosenscharf Год назад

      @@spidiq8 Yup, the amplitude is somewhere in the ballpark of 90-110 degrees.
      Not sure if it's worth whatever a service may cost. I bought the watch for just 25€. There is a video on my channel that shows the balance working.

      @@rosenscharf I'll take a look at the video. Are you confident enough to service it yourself? These are relatively simple movements for autos.

      @@spidiq8 Hmm, to be quite frank: not yet. I got into the topic about a week ago via "Wristwatch Revival". I do own a basic set of miniature tools and have a great set of eyes, but those jewels are tiny. Couldn't tell if they're clean or not if my life depended on it.

    • @spidiq8
      @spidiq8  Год назад +1

      @@rosenscharfIt's definitely not the best one to start with in that case but I recommend watching lots more servicing videos. Avoid the 'restoration' types with lots of fancy cuts and edits as they're more entertainment than educational or helpful. I'd recommend a book or two on basic watch repair.
      Also check out Facebook groups.
      Watch repair lessons group and retro and vintage watches and restorations.
      I admin on both and they're friendly and helpful places for all levels.
