  • The is a review of the Laserpecker L1 Pro. It's a very portable , app controlled diode laser. I run it through a few tests an see how I liked it.

    How to see the positioning box? Before engraving it should show where it is going to engrave right?

      What have your thoughts been about it? I’m considering purchasing it this week. Also, where’d you buy it and for what price and what model? I found the V1 on DHGate. It looks to be the same exact thing. And I’m assuming it’s manufactured in China anyway.

    Thank you for the video. I have a bookshop and I have this idea to laser engraving books . As you mentioned this one may not work on white surfaces like book paper . Which Machin is the best for my job in 2023 ?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Год назад

      There are tons of options for different machines in 2023. It all depends on how large an engraving you want to do. If you want to keep in small I know that laserpecker just came out with a new laser that has 2 different types of beams and I just did a review of a similar machine called the F1 from xTool. Feel free to check out the rest of my channel as I have reviewed quite a few machines that are all different sizes and use cases.

    У подставки с автоматическим фокусом, есть очень сильная недоработка- на подложке нет отверстия. То есть, если вы захотите сделать гравировку на большой поверхности, на полу, на столе и т.д., вы не сможете это сделать, придётся использовать штатив, который очень неудобный. Мне штатив пришёл расхлябанным. Пришлось брать отвёртку в руки и подкручивать абсолютно все винты, так как всё болталось и всё равно подкрутив все винтики, штатив хоть и перестал хлюпать ножками и головкой, всё равно очень хлипкий и неудобный. Сейчас ищу сторонний штатив у которого есть центральная ось с помощью которой можно будет поднимать и опускать головку лазера.

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Год назад

      I haven't done a pen clip but depending on the material type you could do it. Metal might not work but darker plastic probably would.

    Would you be able to do a test on acrylic and glass please

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  3 года назад

      The laser would not be powerful enough to do glass. For Acrylic the effect would be the same as the sewing machine plastic that I had in the video. You would first need to use a marker on the surface and then engrave on it.

    • @stickyprickle
      @stickyprickle 2 года назад

      For glass other diode lasers do etch with the pen technique, that may work? If not then you could cut out a stencil and try a glass etching compound.

    • @stickyprickle
      @stickyprickle 2 года назад +1

      actually, on glass use matt black nail polish, laser etch off the desired design then use glass etching compound, wait, removed compound and then remove rest of nail polish and you should have the result you want from a humble 1.5W diode laser

    I wonder if this would work on glass using the pen technique and with stainless steel using mustard?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 года назад +1

      I don't think the laser is powerful enough for those harder materials. Even with the pen or something else it's not enough. The newer version of the machine is but not this one.

    • @stickyprickle
      @stickyprickle 2 года назад

      @@BusterBeagle3D the isothiocyanates in mustard react with some of the metals (possibly the nickel component) and the laser is just the catalyst and does not need to be too powerful....apparently

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 года назад +1

      Maybe I did not explain myself, in choosing a click art/image does the laser shrink it to fit the area to be engraved or do I have to resize it to fit in the approx 4" x 4" area?

    could it engrave on a clear plastic cassette case or om the cassette itself?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 года назад +1

      It would not be able to engrave on clear plastic directly. You would need to use something over it like tempura paint or something else to be able to mark on the surface.

    • @NikoNoxious
      @NikoNoxious 2 года назад

      @@BusterBeagle3D thank you so much for your reply. I am now considering the omtech 40w to do more serious laser etching onto cassettes. What do you think?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  2 года назад +1

      @@NikoNoxious Those 2 machines aren't even in the same ballpark, they are way different. While I don't have an Omtech I have only heard good things. One is a CO2 laser and one is a diode. They just work at a different laser wavelength but the OMT should be able to do what you want for sure. If you want something even faster you may think about a fiber laser as well. It's super fast and detailed and works well on plastic but might be more expensive and you are limited by the workable area.

      It depends on what you want it for business. If you want to add logos, or UPC codes, or barcodes then it might be great. Just remember the burn area is 100x100mm and it will mostly work on wood and other soft materials.

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  Год назад

      You could. You might need to coat it with something like a dry erase marker, especially if it’s white. This laser isn’t the most powerful laser in the world and there are better options out there now but it could still do it.

  • @JamesElise160
    @JamesElise160 3 года назад +2

    It looks really good, but the ability to engrave at the angle like it does is super dangerous. Most other diode lasers have a tilt switch to prevent the laser firing if it’s anything other than facing straight down. It’s a really neat idea, but I worry about the liability of the manufacturer in case of injuries.

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  3 года назад +1

      To be fair all lasers are inherently dangerous. Any one needs to be respected. I also forgot to mention that it also has a bump sensor in it. If it detects that it fell over or has been bumped during use it shuts off.
