Why do you think I'm skipping Sunday? Despite how much he'd be helpful for a Summon meta. Not only did I find him boring as a character in the story, I need to not waste my pulls on a character that releases in Phase 1 when my desired character is in Phase 2 of the same update. If I pull him, that's less pulls to use on Fugue, and I don't spend real money on this game, or any gatcha game. I need to save up enough pulls so I lower the risk of losing out on her because I lose the 50/50.
Ruan Mei bringing Tingyun back from the brink of death, is so unlike her. As far as we know, Ruan Mei has nothing to gain by saving Tingyun, yet she still saved her. Ruan Mei is not a good person. She wouldn't have saved her out of good will, Ruan Mei has the "results" of her work, and likely gained something for doing so. Being materialistic gain, or knowledge to progress to her REAL goal. I'm not saying Ruan Mei is a villain, but she for sure is not good either

Makes sense considering her description mentioning that the destructive influence from Phantylia is still residing in her body. I also find the quote "I need to be a cunning speck of dust and make them sneeze a few times" intriguing considering what she said in the 2.7 trailer "have you ever thought about making THEM pay?" I think she means the antimatter legion or maybe even the Aeons like Nanook and Yaoshi. Considering the ending of 2.5 it's possible that she will play a big part in the plan devised by Luocha and Jingliu to kill Yaoshi, since Ruan Mei is also involved now. Her grudge might extend beyond Phantylia, but we'll have to see until 2.7 drops.

Would be a fresh take to have someone join the Astral Express permanently, who does not look fully human. Nothing bad with human characters, but having a Foxian join us would be something new to come join us on all our further adventures. Sadly, I think she'll be yet another character we leave behind as we go to the next planet. We haven't had someone new join the crew since the MC. That's 3 whole "planets" and revisits, and not get anyone new to join us permanently in the story. I get why we can't have Firefly join us, for multiple reasons, despite how much I like her, but why not Tingyun join us? She may have work she needs to attend to, but some of those on the Luofu has accepted she's dead. To see someone you thought was dead, walk around, that would leave fear and other issues. Like, why is a dead person in the world of the living? How are they alive? Troublesome questions like those
I'm quite fond of Laci Morgan as Tingyun but I'm loving Anya Floris'performance as well. Laci Morgan captured the sneakiness and unsettling cheeriness of Phantylia impersonating Tingyun. She comes off as fake, like she's hiding something. Anya Floris captured the depression and longingness of what Fugue went through. She's never the same person again after what Phantylia did but the incident has matured her into a strong woman.

Yes, Phantylla disguised herself as her, but who can say that Phantylla was acting exactly the same way the real Tingyun did? Supposedly, the Tingyun VA in the other languages are the same so I’d check to be sure, but if that’s the case then maybe my theory holds merit. It’s sad, but these things happen. Plus, idk I also like Anya Floris’s performance. She sounds REALLY similar to Laci Morgan, and portrays this mature, longing, melancholic tone really well~
Sassy and playful Tingyun is still my favorite. We already have a lot of calm and mature characters so Fugue isn't anything too special. I do like that hint of sadness in her voice though; it makes sense considering everything that has happened.

The time gap from the unspecified amount of time she went missing, to the point of spending multiple update patches to be brought back (as we hear a message of Ruan Mei asking Tingyun if she remembers her whole name, which would not make sense to ask unless they were brought back recently), and then she's brought back, I feel yeah, she spent too much time with Ruan Mei. She probably had Tingyun's body somehow on stasis for a long time to savely modify and recover the body. Then had to spend plenty of time with Ruan Mei to recover, before she could leave. Science isn't some magical form of healing, Tingyun likely had to spend awhile to recollect her mind.
I like the new VA for "Fugue". She fits really well being more solemn and mature after death. The VA shift really helps with that..... but i wish they kept Tingyun's OG voice for "Tingyun" and just have the new VA for Fugue. She doesn't fit the previous "Tingyun" as much imo. It seems that she is actually a clone with the memories of the original Tingyun. It is impossible to actually revive someone in the Honkaiverse since you cannot recover the soul (this is the real reason why Otto couldn't revive Kallen Kaslana, since he wanted to revive the real Kallen she knew and not create a copy). So probably we will never meet the real Tingyun since she died before the start of the story.
She might not be a clone actually. While I do believe you cannot bring someone back to life from death, as you pointed out with the Otto example, it doesn't mean you cannot bring someone back from the brink of death, as they haven't actually died yet. Let's not forget, that it's confirmed Ruan Mei recovered Tingyun's body where she was before others got to her first looking for her, with the body having severe injuries. If she truly was making a clone, a piece of DNA would be all what was needed from the body. Recovering the whole body would take much more effort to just make a clone of that. Then you'd need to discard the body in some way without looking suspicious. And, a side note mentioning Otto, he was so desperate enough to bring Kallen back, that he used Sirin as a gateway to contact God themself, as Sirin claimed to be getting word from God, and that she was acting on God's orders to exterminate humanity. But even after contacting Honkai God, they basically told Otto to impale himself to death. Not even the God of Honkai wanted to aid Otto's selfish goal

It seems that she is actually a clone with the memories of the original Tingyun. It is impossible to actually revive someone in the Honkaiverse since you cannot recover the soul (this is the real reason why Otto couldn't revive Kallen Kaslana, since he wanted to revive the real Kallen she knew and not create a copy). So probably we will never meet the real Tingyun since she died before the start of the story.
Or maybe... since she was reconstituted, her original body was barely alive.
She might not be a clone actually. While I do believe you cannot bring someone back to life from death, as you pointed out with the Otto example, it doesn't mean you cannot bring someone back from the brink of death, as they haven't actually died yet. Let's not forget, that it's confirmed Ruan Mei recovered Tingyun's body where she was before others got to her first looking for her, with the body having severe injuries. If she truly was making a clone, a piece of DNA would be all what was needed from the body. Recovering the whole body would take much more effort to just make a clone of that. Then you'd need to discard the body in some way without looking suspicious. And, a side note mentioning Otto, he was so desperate enough to bring Kallen back, that he used Sirin as a gateway to contact God themself, as Sirin claimed to be getting word from God, and that she was acting on God's orders to exterminate humanity. But even after contacting Honkai God, they basically told Otto to impale himself to death. Not even the God of Honkai wanted to aid Otto's selfish goal

I hope so. Having someone permanently join us would be nice. Haven't had that since we joined them back at Herta's Space Station. We've had guests, but they come and go. And in Misha's and Gallagher's cases, leaving and never returning because of story continuity
We're already getting Sunday as a permanent member so I highly doubt Tingyun would join, but she is already a temporary member since she will be with us for quite some time.
