I have a huge culture of isopods currently. It might have taken me some time but it's worth it when you start seeing mancae from them is the biggest reward
This is a great video! Lovely music, cute isopods and educational too! Definitely will be subbing to this channel, just starting my own colony this will be very useful :)
Is it ok if I have a rather medium sized beetle that I found in the terrarium? I just found it and well I can’t exactly put him anywhere else no tubs no extras terrarium no nothing else what should I do they seem ok with eachother one eats dirt the other 2 are eating a carrot
According to a FB isopod page, someone said this. I agree with a nasatum on the first but the second it's an Armadillidium vulgare for sure, I find em all over my yard here but the exact morph I'm unsure of.

I couldn’t agree more it’s so rewarding 😁

A good idea it to place down a small square of carpet after it rains, I allows find a lot of isopods that way.
I love the video❤Keep it up

Shouldn’t hurt the isopods

I always drop my isopods like that on accident XD
I had only two isopods, two different species. There are now babies

@@michelleniedfeldt68 interesting, thanks for sharing.
Hi Big Red..do isopods hibernate..cant seem to find any at this time. Its November !
Little late, but yes in some places isopods will burrow down in thick leaf litter to keep warm in winter and under logs and brush when snow
what kind of camera do you use?
:o so many millipedes. I would have had them as well lol
Maybe I should start a millipede culture some time
@@BigRedsIsopods I keep native millipedes here in the UK, have done for 20 years or so. Great little creatures.
How do you feed them?
Dead leaves, fish food and vegetables (wash the pesticides off)
