Ed! you're the man brother I love your passion for educating us on the beauty of building and refurbishing all types of cars. You know so much about all types of vehicles , in different places and times. I wish I knew a small fraction of what you know. A fraction of your knowledge of cars would be enough for me to restore my 1968 Chevy Malibu El Camino on my own for a fraction of the cost. Anyway, thank you so much for your time a care for inspiring mechanics. Kenya
For VW's being her 'passion', she should know that the side doors on a bus are not BARN DOORS. That term refers to VERY early buses that had a really large engine cover, making them BARN DOOR buses.
Body work and paint DONE, windows tinted dark...you can park it while doing interior...ANYWHERE (subdivisions, gated community) with zero complaints, so no RUSH.14 for a South Carolina splitty is great. Nephew sold an also incomplete (amateur exterior and floor resto HIS first) for 30K recently.
VW would make a mint if they reissued this style. They would know how to run a water cooled engine that’s easy on the petrol, solid brakes, power steering, all the creature comforts. It’s the look people are after, not the vintage.
Ummmmm.... the AE engines aren't really stuck in the 60's as they were only used from '71-'73.... 60 Hp... my Super beetle has one.. nice power especially when stroked
Once I saw that we were 3/4 of the way through the video and all that Mike did was buy they VW, I knew this video was about a whole lot of nothing. I’ll be blocking these videos for wasting my time thank you very much…..
Holy shit I nearly died when he let that barn door swing round and bang fucking hell mike
A brilliant van.😍 but its a t1 not a t2. Only thing of comment on it. The t2 has no typical arches on the front. But anyway...a superb van. Love it

Eric Baker in what year did minivan's started being can you help me out thanks!
VW bus engines don't chirp like a Beetle unless there's been a Beetle exhaust installed.
VW van I've seen here in Aus were around the 35,000 mark
I always look forward to a splitty coming home with me.
He about knocked her off the face of the earth with that handshake lmao

Where's Ed? Any stiff can wave a stack, but it takes a man to do the biz...

MatchstalkMan : agree, I’ve always said that...they make the Bulli (the van’s original German nickname) but looks nothing like the original.
Campervan as a icon.
Ed was right to leave as quality has been compromised, as for Mike, well its well known that used car salesmen have no scruples or standards
dougy 1000 I love it looks good!
He used be on the tools. Qualified himself.
In England cars just rust to hell . So this is why the cars here in the USA are disappearing . They are being exported .
Jeff Mullinix holy cow!
Really not true... you don’t see many old US cars in the Uk at all
Twice that money today.

We love you Mike, same way we love herpes or vomit-flavoured crisps.
Да в России таких уже толком нету
Yeah do nothing and sell it as it is for 20,000.
Not a vehicle you want to have a head on collision with....you are the crumple-zone.
