When you don't know how to confront the future, find strength in the past. Maintaining history alive, having a strong sense of belonging is very important to keep going.

I can attest to his transformation by looking at his (somewhat adopted) roots. There's a very specific reason ancestors are worshipped and revered the world over. Not so much in the West, or Christianity, but it still happens. Once you can find a way to honor your forefathers & mothers, you will find an inexhaustible source of strength and help. This I can say with all sincerity and honesty. It may sound strange, but once you experience it, it's life changing.

@K. Schmid Hussars are not dead. We have in Poland around 200 hussars :) It seems you don't know anything about hussars. Their honor, faith, mental power, years of trainings, special trained horses (1 horse costed 66kg of silver, equals 1 village). Please read something about hussars, than write. It was heavily difficult to gather even one company. There are many of examples in the history where 100 hussars defeated couple of thousand of enemy troops, for example battle of Kutyszce. Two incomplete Hussar banners of the Polish forces operating in Ukraine, caught up with Russian retreating Ukrainian army under Vasyl Szeremietiew. 140 Polish horsemen devastated 3500 cavalry and Cossack infantry, gaining an enemy stock. In this encounter Hussars did not suffer any losses. Even with with the Russians counting 25: 1. So keep your lifestyle, and accept the facts ;) ruclips.net/video/CyaX0kOa-MM/видео.html&ab_channel=AndrzejMalczak
@K. Schmid And why I have the impression you disrespect hussars? The whole world respect them, but of course some individuals from some nations cannot? I respect Cossacs, because they were - as I mentioned - worthy opponents, skillful and we fought many times side by side. Why some people are so insecured? Turks were defeated by hussars many times and despite this they always respected us. But of course some nations can't get over the fact they were "brave" slaughtering innocent woman and child... Really honorable.

@@rhysnichols8608 so rather than liking nazism, the Cossacks and they found a common ground, their hatred of communism
Infact the cossaks were slaves of the soviets they betrayed circassians during the massive genocide done by the Russians, they even stole circassian clothes, traditions (khabza), and the famous kama or after it was stolen "cossak dagger"
Question: what is that Red Button-up caftan he is putting on, I’m currently looking for one, for a reenactment outfit.
I love my Cossack brothers .. поздрав из Србије !
Hope he can reaches his goals, don't give up king
It's better to become Polish winged hussar ;) They were much more effective :) But still, Cossacs were worthy opponents...and allies as well.
@@kotik_2ua Not only once but we were outnumbered between 3-10 times depending on the battle ;) Despite this we were able to won like in Battle of Starokostiantyniv. But still, cossacs had good skills, but unfortunately no armors ;)
Every man must choose his way but freedom like his is hard to come by.
So keep your lifestyle, and accept the facts ;)

@K. Schmid www.mhistory.net/polish-winged-hussars-the-most-effective-and-beautiful-cavalry-in-the-world/
Huzzah to this man for his intestinal fortitude to better his life, and furthermore to utilize what he has gone through to better the lives of others. If being a Cossack makes me anything like him I’ll be the next in line
Number one: this is exactly how people should treat drug addicts
Just be free, and have a warrior fighting spirit
And number two: I hope the Russian army won't annex that part of Ukraine the same way as they did to Crimea
Crimea always belonged to Russia. It was conquered by catherine the great.
@@ryan6600 bruh just because some ruler of your country hundreds of years ago conquered something doesn’t mean you still should rightfully possess it
@@philippg1390 when you conquer land it’s rightfully yours!
@@philippg1390 they're justifying the annexation of Crimea by using one of their Monarch's actions in the past. And Ukrainians are justifying Crimea as theirs by saying they live there. Territorial conflicts are as old as time and it's very interesting how parties use any arguments
Russian can't occupate Kyiv
Kossaks are a part of polish culture too.
There is even a polish Kossak organization
Ото, козаче, добряче, добряяяче розповів. Буде толк! Хай но ще засяє козацька слава і воля!

Когда то на этих берегах лет так 200 с лишним жили козаки,потом они переселились всем своим войском на Кубань
I may be a nothing, but my desire to connect to history gives me purpose. Live the dream sir, with an attitude and fortitude to match, you will succeed
Now I want to be a Cossack!!!!
Hope everything goes well for you..stay safe!
Mr. Szeremeta, I hope you accomplish your dream!
It is necessary to understand where one is coming from, to know where one is going. Good luck.
Do they allow any man to join? The Cossacks of old allowed any strong man who was Christian to join....I would seriously consider spending a year or longer there training with them. Can anyone give me information? Can I join or is it a very private group? I’m English but I’m fit and strong and I know martial arts, and I can speak some of the language
I do not know but you can always ask but you know that eastern european sword fighting is no joke i practice it myself and its extremly tiring So is firing from a bow Just make sure 100% you want to join
I think that culturally to join, you should know how to believe in god(be orthodox and how to cross yourself properly like an orthodox. I don't think you should be Ukrainian, as poles and other nationalities also joined Cossacks, as it is more of the way of Ukrainian lifestyle, but not being Ukrainian. As I just read, they say to become a Cossack, you firstly should be brave, and doesn't fear anything, and secondly strong. If you know Ukrainian, or maybe Russian, I think would also increase you chance of enrolment . You can easily try joining, it doesn't seem its a private group, if you know something about them, and able to do some stuff I think you can join. island Khortitsya, St Старого редуту 10, Zaporizia City, Zaporizhian Oblast Ukraine, 69000 is the address. If you really want to join, you know what to do.

Apparently I'm already a Cossack and didn't know it? Well, I guess I do have a lot to learn about throwing weapons still, so let's say I'm getting there.

I hear you! I recently found out my family name is considered Cossack. My surname is Baleka (sometimes spelled Balyka). Both variants are in the 1649 Zaporozhian Cossack register. My great grandmother also came from a Cossack line. Maiden name Barvinok. As in Ivan Barvinok. Time to head to Ukraine brothers! :)
