The Brazil episode was great because Adult Swim really promoted it as a big event and then it was 11 minutes of them arguing in an airport.

According to co-creator Zach Hadel, it was supposed to be an April fools episode but for some reason adult swim didn't air it in April. So I guess you could say it was literally an out of season April fools joke.
@@syco579 Pure speculation on my end but since the episode is vacation related and it was released on August, I assume Adult Swim wanted to make it seem even more like the episode was a legitimate sort of "summer special"

There was a theory that Mr. Frog wasn't canceled because He tried to swallow someone, but because he didn't actually eat them and broke the illusion of the show.

The brazil episode is actually my favorite episode in the show. It's my most rewatched one too. The escalation of arguments mixed with casual and apologetic banter is so familiar to me. It's like when youre with a group of friends and someone fucks up. The entire gang starts trashing on them and they get hella defensive. Culminating in some kind of resolution albeit, an unsatisfying one.
Idk, that concept is just so funny to me for an episode. Especially since airport drama is pretty common lol.
And if you look in the background in the end after this whole situation resolves with them deciding to fly back a plane can be seen crashing into the christ the redeemer statue. Guaranteeing that they'll be stuck in Brazil for at least a couple more days where they don't have anywhere to stay.
After spending 3 hours in the Atlanta airport last week while flying for the first time in my life, I can say that episode perfectly captured the uniquely specific l kind of hell on earth that airports can be

The joke of this line is that the man voicing Glip in this scene is the creator’s Jewish friend. They literally made a Jewish man say that Christianity was right all along.

As much as I want season 2 to come, it’s kind of perfect as it is.
Based off what we have seen of season 2 I'm pretty confident it'll be just as good if not better!

I love how many RUclipsrs are apart of the show. It’s one of the best adult shows we’ve ever gotten. My favorite role was David Firth (creator and voice actor of Salad Fingers) voiced Shrimp.
If I remember correctly, 'Smiling Friends Go to Brazil' originally aired on April 1st, which explains basically everything about its general way of being.

I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the RUclips channel RedLetterMedia but the voice actor for Desmond the guy holding the gun to his head is the founder of RedLetterMedia Mike Stoklasa. And he makes a brief appearance in the Christmas episode alongside The Angry Video Game Nerd himself James Rolfe. It makes sense because the creators of Smiling Friends themselves began their careers making animated RUclips videos on the internet.

I'm a big Adventure Time fan and the comparison to this episode isn't without it's merits. Especially since the fantasy land isn't restricted to just mythical stuff and has a some scifi elements like aliens mixed in. Adventure Time's series finale also showed off a future grey alien princess.
