Correct because the same principle applies to utility trailers, boats, cargo trailers, tow behind welders, tow behind generators and a host of other commercial grade pull behind equipment.
Excellent presentation Chris. This is what “critical care maintenance” of your equipment looks like. The video was so good even got to Cruiseman stop in. When Caliente Garage Productions posts up certified G4 classified content, be here or be now where. Thank you sir.
Yep I was tired of manually packing the bearings so installing greaseable wheel hubs was a game changer, now I can grease the bearings without removing the wheels.
Dry bearings will weld themselves to the spindle and seize up, an overloaded trailer can break suspension parts or sheer off wheels. Knowing how to service and load your trailer properly can save riders an unnecessary breakdown.
On your next video, would you mind explaining the advantage of having a trailer with you daily and in long trips, as well as the "basics" you make sure to maintain in your trailer when you're riding?
Excellent video! Do you use a different valve stem with the balance beads? Do you know the weight difference between the 2 hubs? The OEM looks heavier. Now you have a spare hub incase of a break down.
Broken frame or broken welds can spell disaster on the highway so it’s best to check for damage to the frame when your not riding so when it’s time to ride your not looking like a deer in headlights.
Chris, I was wondering what the fuel economy impact was pulling a trailer vs not. I get low 40mpg with my DCT Wing and was wondering how much a trailer would effect mpg. Thanks!
I’ve travelled with other new Wing owners that didn’t have a trailer when I pulled my trailer on the road but we all had to stop for fuel at the exact same mileages. Pulling a trailer does reduce the mpg by a Miniscule.
Been grease monkey on backhoe for years, still todays grease monkey!! Been greasing bearings In everything… LOL … nothing new!! Rather grease bearings by hand than using grease gun. More visuals and replacement if needed. Most times need replace seals dry and cracked. Colorado uses chemical road spray in winter. Really sucks.

Always appreciate the clarity, detailed, and informative information. No doubt this will help several people, even car and truck trailer owners.

Very good video
Agree 100% dry bearings and overloaded are the main causes for trailer failure.

Can I get these for the Can Am trailer?
Can Am is not standard because it’s metric, but I’m sure you can find them out there somewhere!
