  • How To Fit It All In Your Traveler’s Notebook
Just a quick little video on how to fit everything into your Midori Traveler’s Notebook.
There are many ways to do this. This is just my way this week how I put my inserts in my Midori Traveler’s Notebook.
    Enjoy!

your video popped up in my feed today, 4 years on! Anyway, I just tried this with my passport TN and I am here to say it works great! I have all the same components- 3 notebooks, a Kraft folder and a canvas pouch, and it fits perfectly! thank you!! I am going to do the same to my standard TN next.

I am so surprised that the pen holder doesn't scratch or bend the notebook at all! Now I want one again :) And give your little snorer there a kiss from me - so cute!

Endless possibilities with a TN that is why I love them, it’s your own! I love when folks share their set ups and inserts. Thanks

Thank you so much for this video, sooo helpful! I just received an Airport TN from an eBay seller, and could NOT figure out how to get 3 inserts, a Kraft folder, and a zipper case into it on ONE string! I followed your video step-by-step and voila! I'm ready to go! This is my first TN from this company and I love it! So different from all of my much loved Chic Sparrows & Sojourners...so much fun having so many different leathers!😊💜

Thank you for explaining that the zipper pouch sits better around 2 inserts rather than one. They’re always shifting on me😊! Take care and have fun 💗🤗!

Just tried it in my A6 CS. Huh. I think I like it also. Have kind of thick wallet insert.

For six months have been researching many types of notebooks (covers, inserts and set-ups.) Your posts have been the most valuable and I truly thank you for sharing your insight ❤. After watching this video, I have finally decided which direction to go. I plan on purchasing the original TN along with the inserts shown in this video. Thank you from the bottom of my heart John 💋

Great video of how you use your Traveller's Notebook John. I recently bought a different brand one as it was half the price of the Midori. It's the same height but a couple of centimetres wider. Still trialing different setups to get it how it will work best for me. I also have a Passport size but am agonizing over whether to use both sizes as I like the small Passport size but then another part of my obsessive brain prefers to have all my different notebooks in one cover & the Passport is a bit too small to be practical. My standard has 4 vertical elastics which saves messing around with extra elastics to pair books together. Regardless of the brand & size the TN's are a great system & Kudos to Midori for coming up with the idea in the first place.

Thank you soooo much! I’m new to TN and was having a trouble setting it up and tried it your way right now and found out that I was using way too many elastics. LOL!
Thanks again and I will be your new subbie😆

It depends on the size of your journal and the bands but it does work. Rubber bands too if you aren't too picky

You can also get the elastic band at hobby lobby. It comes in different colors and thickness. That way you can re-string your notebook as well as make connector bands. It's in the jewelry making section.

Hello John! This is a very informative video! I tend to put my notebooks like you: everything planning systems related first and then the rest.
Love your pen loop! I need to buy a traveler's big paper clip, they seem so practical... i have to search about european boutiques that sales some.
Thanks for sharing, and as always, greetings from here :)

this is so cool 🤩 I still have to figure out, how I will sort my inserts - 2024 will be my first year in a TN ever - and this is a big help!
Could you share (write out 😂) the name of your zipper pouch insert? That's beautiful in there but I couldn't really understand the brand-name and either not read it on it in your video. Thank you 🙂

The mustard yellow color zipper pouch is made by The Traveler’s Company and fourruof. There is a brand you can find on Amazon that is a copy of these. They are made by Moterm. They come in yellow, olive, light blue, and a dark blue. Hope this helps.

Hello John, i heard you on a April's podcast. I live in Canada (maybe irrelevant), i don't know where to purchase the outside leather (not suede) TN cover, with pockets/secretary sewn in. Are you able to suggest where? Thank you!

    • @planningwithjohn
      @planningwithjohn  Год назад +1

There are so many makes. What I would do is look on Etsy to see if there are any makers nearby or in Canada. This will help keep shipping costs down and you won’t have to worry about import taxes. I know there are a few makers and I’m sure they will have the size you’re looking for.
