What she meant was if 12th lord is sitting in the 12th house itself, then according to one of the exceptions, the Upapada will fall in 10th to the 12th House. So count which house falls 10 places away from 12th house. It will be 9th house which will be the upapada in case 12th lord is in 12th house itself. She spoke by mistake saying 10th house but she meant 10 houses away from the 12th house which is 9th.
