Love your surprising and daring humor in these introductory essays!
Sri Ramana encouraged his devotees to reflect on the self-inquiry, "Who am I?" The author of the Course, Helen's Jesus, speaks to us via the Voice for God asking, "Who are you?" The pronouns You/your are used more than 25,000 times in the FIP edition, not once addressing the ego. Always, our true Voice is trying to awaken the dreaming Son who is not the Father , but is not other than His holy Son.
Some of us need lots of words. The book could be summed up in four pages, as in What It Says, or epitomized in a pamphlet per Song of Prayer. But for those who need lots of words, we are given a 1249 page myth in Christian idiom. The practice that renews the mind is to prayerfully read, share, listen and learn to recognize that Voice.
    Who are you?

I'm glad the essays have some value--they definitely do to me, but so does collecting yogurt cups...which has doubtful value to anybody else. I reacently heard Gary Renard say the Course does not jive with Christianity--the obvious 180 degrees between NO SACRIFICE is valid and THE SACRIFICE makes you valid. Do you have any thoughts? The approach would be to isolate the essential irreconcilable differences, and reconcile them. I think it is a shame to accept their animosity.

@@hamiltonconstellation Truth is not a pile of words, however cleverly arranged. Truth, if revealed to my current identity, the functional "self", is Overwhelm--beyond words. Linguistically fabricated models of Truth, such as Christianity or ACIM are meaningful stories--myths--that help the believer approach Overwhelm without psychotic ego-contraction. See T-27.VII.13. Eventually the Son gets his cosmic joke and relaxes with a huge, merciful belly laugh. See T-27.VIII.6 [corrected reference]

The ego will sooner create the end of the world than allow for the possibility of its own non existence.

The good news is that the ego is an illusory construct and part of the world it would end--it implies that control of the illusory narrative, at both ends of the illusory stick, are controlled by the Raison d'etre of the entire thing. God, as principle, will not allow the Kindergarten class to burn down the school. He might allow them to scare the crap out of themselves so they will not try it again...What do you think? Is this Pollyanna?
