Hello Jim, thanks for letting us in your workshop. I hope you having a better day than me. I was working on the shed and the hot air gun tripped the breaker, fumbling in the garden in the dark I managed to find my way back to the house to one of three fuse boxes, yes it was the last one. Then went round to make sure the emergency sump pumps were set because we are forecast snow. Then went in for a coffee. It gets worse, the trip has upset a detector which keeps beeping and I can't find it. So I shut all the doors to narrow down the location now I have some irritable dogs as they usually have their supper then a play in the lounge instead they are stuck in the shack with an ever increasing level of irritations from me. I narrowed the sound to the Kitchen or laundry room and started routing through the kitchen I found the lost Sellotape, a screwdriver and several jobs to be fixed but nut no detector. It must be in the laundry but I cant find it which means it is in the storage loft and that is a space full of salvaged kit that I have forgotten about and being reminded will be a distraction I do not need and if I go in there I will be lost for Christmas.. The moral of the story is don't use a hot air gun. Coffee. No Whiskey and a beer whilst I wrap my present a Philips Type 462 A/15 Serial No: 46323 1947 LW/MW/SW with the Sellotape before I loose it again.. Jim life is getting complicated so sitting quietly listening to you wandering through your thoughts is avery pleasant except for the beeping which is driving me ................
JIm I hope you project is going better than my shed ........ Update on the BEEP, it is now 01:42 Friday morning and after retrieving the ladders in the poring rain from the garden shed I am building, I made my way into the loft store to locate the source of the BEEP and leave a black hand print on the hatch, dam. Searching around in the semi dark I moved four video recorders, six tape decks, three turntables, loads of old tower PC's, two projectors, some chart recorders. Beep, two slide projectors (which I must get fixed). Speakers every where a hifi, four video cameras, one Betacam, BEEP Dorman Smith HV test gear, two Oscilloscopes I thought I had moved one so that a nice find, various transformers and HAM gear. A scintillation counter and a DVM with Nixi tubes (nice) and a Geiger counter which may come in handy ?. Cant find the alarm, back down the steps to find a tar stain on the carpet from the ladder !, it just get worse. BEEP. Ah it must be near the dryer so out that comes which nearly put my back out and nealy riping th socket off the wall, not there. BEEP. Then I remember a water alarm for the washing machine and I had splashed some water in the morning. Six hours all because the hot air gun tripped a breaker and I spilt some water doing the laundry. Now I have a stain on the carpet and irritated dogs, mud from the garden and tar stained ladders in the kitchen and a headache. A warning to you chaps of unforeseen consequences. At least I have refreshed my memory of my stash and managed not bring anything down although I may go back for that Nixi DVM the Tar stain and handprint on the hatch can wait. Good night chaps I am going to bed. Happy Christmas Jim
