You are very talented. I am a 60 year old woman who does thrift flips all the time! Cheers!!
Thank you ☺️ that’s awesome, I love thrift flipping xx
I love the blouse it turned out great!
Thank you! 😊
Those tie up shirts came out great. That gives me a good idea of how to make some puffy sleeve shirts without making it from scratch!
Thanks! I’m glad you found some inspiration from the video. I love reusing old clothes, it’s cheaper and quicker than buying fabric and making from scratch :)) x
For hemming a beaded dress you can pick or cut off all the beads on the hem allowance so you won't break needles. If you were making it from scratch with a beaded fabric, you'd also cut off the beads from the seam allowances.
I should have done that, I’m not sure what was going through my head when i thought my machine would sew the hem without breaking so many needles, thank youu I’ll give that a go next time I work with beaded fabric :)) x
@@emilyhaworth9375 It's tedious to de-bead the allowances, but saves a lot of needles.🙂
You can pound them with a hammer to break them. Saw another RUclipsr do that.
Everything came out so nice and looks beautiful on you. You did a great job. 🥰
Thank you so much ☺️ xx
Aside from breaking the needles on the beaded dress, which can be remedied by removing the beads in the hem area, the continued needles breaking could be all sorts of thing but my guess would be (after so many needle changes) is that they're being installed wrong.... make sure the flat side of the needle is against the machine or it'll roll around and hit the throat plate.. snap, break! Fun upcycles...... you go girl!
Ahhh that makes a lot of sense as to why they were all breaking, thank you I’ll be making sure to take extra care when installing them!! Xx
Beautiful!! The blouses are adorable.
Thank you! 😊 xx
I love the black dress. If you go to an 80's party, team the black dress with black tights, black Doc Martens style boots and a denim jacket.
Ooo that’s an awesome idea, I need to go to an 80s party now xx
You are AMAZING!!! Loved all your projects… keep up the good work… not many of us learned to sew (me included) and it’s so refreshing to see someone as young as you sewing.🥰
Thank youuu 🥰 I’ve been seeing more and more younger people getting into crafts which is awesome ☺️
You could make a skirt or another top with the leftover of the dress. You did a great job! They all look soooooo cute❤️
A skirt would be lovely out of that beaded fabric, thank youuu!! :)
@@emilyhaworth9375 You did a brill job. The dress looks fantastic on you and your dog is just adorable 😍 With the leftover fabric from the dress ,maybe you could make a matching bag. Great video. Thank you ,
@@emilyhaworth9375 ❤️ you’re welcome! I hope you make another video showing what you did with it- or any of your other leftover fabrics.
Nice presentation, really cute designs. Thank you. Sometimes a skirt can be made shorter from the waist. It might be possible to avoid removing and reattaching the lace from the hemline. I will be happy to see more of your designs … 😊
Thank youuu I’m glad you like them :)) I’ll have to give that a go sometime, trying to unpick the lace was very tricky so I just ended up cutting it which meant the lace got trimmed down a bit, adjusting at the waist would help thank youuu!! ☺️
You have such good vision. Everything turned out beautifully, and at a bargain price . Well done you !
Thank youu!! I do love finding cheap ways to be creative x
Well done on your Upcycling project! Really Cool!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great flips. If your sewing machine is still breaking needles, it might be that it's got misaligned or there might be a bit of broken bead/needles in the mashine still (I've had that issue). Sometimes a good clean out of the insides fixes it. If it doesn't, a service of the mashine should fix it.
Thank youu!! I changed the brand of needles and that seemed to fix it, since then I’ve not broken anymore needles, but that’s good to know thanks for the tips :)) xx
Good job, Emily!
Thank youuu xx
Those navy ribbons turned out adorable on it
YOU ARE SO TALENTED!!!
I just found your channel and you have me mesmerized @! I am inspired beyond words!! Great job!!!❤
Aww thank you so much!! You are so kind ❤️
That dress is amazing! I never thought to make a longer dress shorter. I only sew by hand. Maybe that's why. I think I'll give it a try.
Thank youu!! You should, it gives your dresses a new lease of life :)) xx
@@emilyhaworth9375 You're welcome!
You are so clever and charming. Instead of whining about what you don’t have, you came up with a really cute way to have some things that look better than the ones you can buy.. adorable
Aww that’s so kind thank youuu 🥰 literally any time I go shopping now I just think to myself “I can make that” and then I go buy fabric 😂
thrifty and talented
Loved how you used an old shirt to create a completely different one! It inspired me to try it out as well, since I've only seen videos about how to make one from scratch.
That’s amazing!! I’m glad you liked it 🥰
I loved everything you did. But I think the blue check top should have had the matching ties like you did on the white one. Cute tops.
Great video I wish I could sew on a sewing machine. I do know how to sew by hand but that takes forever. I love the navy ribbon bows! All of your projects turned out amazing!
Thank youuu!!! Hand sewing does take a while but it can look so beautiful 😍
Emily listening to you contemplate your flips, and watching the transformations has inspired me to upcycle a few of my thrifted items!
I’m so glad, up-cycling old clothes to make something new is so much fun ☺️ xx
I’ve seen so many of those tie up shirts, I am gonna follow your steps and make my own. Thanks🌺
That’s awesome!! They have been all over my instagram recently so I just had to make one :)) x
Beautiful projects. Thank You.
Thank you!!
You did a wonderful job and just think of all the possible outfits you will make with them😓😍😁
Thank youu!! I know I’ve not stopped wearing the tie front shirts I love them 😍
Too bad you don’t like longer dresses cus it was gorgeous. 😢
Loved the rest of the flips! Good to see old pieces getting a new life❤
It was but I felt like I wouldn’t be able to wear it cause it was so long, wanted to be able to get some wear out of it. Thank youu!!! Xx
You look so pretty! Love your try on hauls
Aww thank you 🥰 xx
Really lovely work, glad you saw so much potential which resulted in gorgeous additions to your wardrobe. You have youth and beauty sweetness and talent. Very enjoyable vid thank you.
Aww thank youuu 🥰 you are very kind :))
All of them came out great! Good work!❤
Thank you!!!
Awesome video, some changes can make such a diffrence :) sewing is a super power haha! ❤🎉
Thank youu 🥰 definitely sewing is a super power 🦸♀️💗
Nice job, especially the black dress, that looks awesome! 😎
Thank youu!! Xx
When working with beads or sequins you need to remove the beading in the seam area before sewing.
Ahhh thank you, I’d never really done anything with beads before, I probs should have googled it first but I was way to excited to start sewing :)) xx
I’m sure you’ve gotten lots of advice, but this might be new/fresh:
•you can put the ties slightly in/under, so they tie the top flush with no gaps, like the one in the picture you showed (looks cute either way though)
•THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL for sequined items. If the dress gives you a rash under your arms, or irritates your skin, you can remove sequins (beads are usually fine to leave on) by cutting them individually from the outside toward the hole but DON’T cut the thread bc then sometimes you end up w a mess to fix. I have sensitive skin and always get a rash from sequins under my arms.
•(your needles might be breaking due to alignment?? Idk a ton abt that but I hope it gets squared)
I love the blue gingham top so much! My favorite.
TY for sharing this, I loved it
They are some great tips, I really appreciate them thank you!!! I’m glad you enjoyed 🥰
Ohmygod the tie up tops and the skirt turned out SO GOOD 🤩🤩
Thank youuu 🥰
You're like really talented. You like seem to like know, like exactly where to like, cut the original to make like some like really cute things. My like, favorite was like, the black dress, but like the white shirt was like really like cute, too. I like.
Thank you!!! You are so kind 🥰
You are an artist😁
Aww thank youuu ❤️
Hello! Emily. It's the first time I see your channel. I like very much your ideas and results. Much appreciation ❤ Grandma Sherry
Thank youuu 🥰 xx
They came put great!
Thank youuu!!!
Not a criticism, definitely better to hand stitch the hem on the black dress. In fact I mostly hand stitch hems for a neater look. Lovely dress. Great buy.
Apparently bows are going to be one of this years top fashions, so there you go!
Getting ahead of the trends!! :)
If you wanted to wear without an extra hot layer you could probably sew up the center and just have the top bow functional. It might be easier to whip or blinf stitch the bows. Sometimes the machine just complicates some things. I would just get the edges and not even try to go all the way through.
Ooo that’s a great tip, thank youuu!! Xx
You remind me so much of the girl from "10 Things I Hate About You". Good luck with the channel! Loved the video.
I love that film so for me that’s like the best compliment ever ☺️ thank you so much!! Xx
@@emilyhaworth9375 Omg, let's be friends!
Little tip for sewing beaded or sequins is smash them in area you need to sew on.
Ooo that sounds like fun, thanks for the tip 🥰
Your thrift flip designs are so nice. Are you deciding if you are going to fashion design school?
Thank youuu ☺️ I’m not sure cause I’ve already been to uni but maybe one day :)) xx
Well done ❤
Thank youuu xx
Thanks for sharing ❤
I’m so glad I’m not the only one snapping so many needles 🤦♀️😅
It was honestly insane how many I broke that day!
Your upcycles are very nice. I'm definitely going to upcycle some men's shirts with these ideas. You do a nice balance of describing aamd demonstrating.
Quick suggestion - could you try not to say "like" so much? It grates on the nerves a bit. Be confident, you are doing well!
Thank youuu :)) I also say “um” all the time too and it drives me insane when I’m editing!!!
You should make a skirt from the left over material from the black dress
You could be using the wrong type/size needles or your machine needs to be serviced. It may be out of sync/timing.
Love the shirts.
Nice.
Thanks!!☺️
Can you sew over the beading. I know My machine wouldn’t do it
I found out through trying it that you cannot sew over beading 😂 I should have definitely googled it before hand
Aside from breaking needles while hemming the beaded dress (which can be remedied
😍
Please don't take this wrong, but your videos would really shine if you would look at us. Cheers!
I think the tie front top is called a ganni top
Ahhh that’s the brand I couldn’t remember the name, thank you xx
Clean your bobbin holder out cause it's acting like the pieces from the dress ate still in the machine I use a can of air too clean mine out.
I have like on old makeup brush to clean some of the fibres out but I never thought to use air, thank youuu xx
You’re very talented. Where did you learn to sew?
Thank you, I started by kinda teaching myself from like RUclips and the internet but then after a while I caved and went to a sewing class at my local fabric shop :)) xx
I liked what you did with the clothes. Maybe you could consider working on your presentation. Be aware of how many times you use the word “like”.
Thank youu!! It drives me insane when I come to edit and all I say is “um” or “like” I think it’s cause I still get a little nervous around that camera but I’m trying to work on it :))
Your dog is so cute 🫠
Thank youuu!! Benjamin loves hanging out with me when I’m sewing :))
Do you have insta?
Honey, try not to say LIKE so maney times, like you know, like when your showing your work, like you do good work, you know like really.
Stop being sexist.
@@margaretf667Why is that a sexist remark? The person who made it appears to be female. Having said that, I wouldn't call a complete stranger out on how she talks or the language she uses, whether it's an annoying habit or not. It's just rude. This is the problem with social media, people think they have a right to criticise when they should keep their opinions to themselves.
Your very creative but you made the skirt Way too short
Don't you think that's her style? She has great legs, leave her alone!
@@Lily_The_Pink972 , A person can have great legs & still dress modestly
Stop saying 'like' !!! Had to switch off.
Reallly inspired me to try some thrift flipping when my new sewing machine arrives! Another great video xx
You’re getting a sewing machine!! That’s awesome, can’t wait to see what you make xx
GREAT UPCYCLE.
Thank youuu :)) x
