The adults are rarely photographed in cities but you get to see lot of caterpillars since their host plants Terminalia and Lagerstromia are plentiful. A lot of them die in early stages or fail to come out of pupae due to infections. Their usual 6 week life cycle can strech longer due to seasonal changes. We only raised 3 caterpillars last year for documentation, and luckily got this female and another male previously. She even laid eggs a week later.
