The Slab Dynasty videos is what got me into fly fishing. I fly fish 95 percent of the time, and only go traditional 5 percent. It was your Tuckaseegee video that inspired me to get started and then I caught my first trout there
I know this spot. I like this river a lot in the winter. I am an old handicap fly fisherman, and this river has several good easy access spots to fish. I usually do good with a Squiggly Worms and Frenchie Nymphs.
keep showing me NC trout videos to train on and im a subscriber. That whole video I was just trying to figure out what water that was. It looked so familiar.
I usually just do what the old timers call high sticking and no indicator...just let drift as close to the bottom as you can...if you're not getting hung up now and then you're not deep enough...I find this the easiest way to fish without spending extra on euro nymphing set up...
Nice rod! I absolutely love my TFO I got recently. What size wt. rod is that you were using in the video? Slab videos are some of my favorites and I’m always looking forward to the next one.
Dont know where your located but Cherokee been really good all winter. Madison county delayed harvest is been great and Wilson creek for a bunch of browns
@@SlabDynasty dude awesome! Hopefully I can recognize you some how lol but love watched your videos! I go here often too! Def dont mind showing you around next time!
Recently we’ve gotten away from name-dropping streams, but happy to share this location if you dm us on Instagram. I can tell you though, this is a Delayed Harvest section and they’re very easy to find. Just google search “NC trout map” and you’ll find an interactive map of all the designated nc stocked and wild trout water. DH streams show up as dotted lines. I’d wait until October when they stock DH to go check some out near you.
I know this spot. This river has several l places with easy access. I am an old handicap fly fishmen and easy access is important. I usually do good on this river with Frenchie Nymphs and Squiggly Worms.
Great video! I’m a few months late on seeing it but hopefully that will help me out here: can you please tell me what river this is? I know you don’t want to “spot burn” but I’m several hours away and don’t get to go to WNC but once or twice per year, so I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out. I don’t need the specific spot but just the name of the river would help me out a lot! Thanks!
heading down there from Indiana in a couple of weeks and am looking for some guidance. Used to live in Montana, so willing to trade info about NW Montana and southwest BC and New Zealand for some local info in North Carolina.
Best piece of advice we can give is check out the NC interactive fishing map. Just google “NC Trout Map” and it should come up. It shows where all of these stocked and delayed harvest streams are located. If you’re coming beginning of March, there should be some DH water thats getting freshly stocked. If you come in February, I would check out cherokee trophy water, it’s independently managed/stocked and has been fishing well from what we hear. Need to buy a special license for it. Hope that helps man. We love Montana! Only fished the Madison but we’ll be back to explore more
I fly fish for everything... It's hard to find people bass fishing with a fly rod on youtube. Your vids are great I'm kinda tired of seeing trout to be honest. It isn't your fault, I kinda feel like every time I watch a fly fishing video trout fishing is shoved down my throat. Great video anyway though.

That’s awesome!
One of my favorite spots! And great smallie fishing in the summer too
Have heard it’s got some good smallies in it too. We might need to float it in the summer
@SlabDynasty if you're gonna float g in the summer, do it on a weekday, can be way to many plastic hatches.
Congrats on baby #2 coming Steve!
Thank you! Baby girl due in May

Once it warms up we’re definitely hitting the bass hard on the fly 👍🏻
