Brand was on Edmund's planet. Where she wanted to go in the first place. That planet is the one that will replace Earth, so he was right. And when she arrived, Edmund was already dead so she was burying him.

Most of the film is scientifically accurate. The black hole was edited before the first picture of a black hole was taken as is an exact match to what they look like. The black hole scene took 100 hours to render each frame, scientists study/use the footage still. Also each tick in the water planet is around 1.25 seconds which means a day has passed on Earth.

3 hours is crazy?? lord of the rings was 4 hours, Endgame was 3 hours, Dune was 3 hours, The Batman was 3 hours, Oppenheimer was 3 hours..
