The quote you read in the journal was a conversation between Jo and Laurie in Little Women. Laurie told Jo that his tutor, John Brook was keeping her sister Meg's lost glove in his waistcoat pocket. Laurie thought it was romantic, Jo being the no nonsense type, thought it was horrible.
Hi Stephanie - I am glad you liked them. Tea cards are similar to cigarette cards - they are collectibles that you used to get in boxes of tea and cigarettes - people collected them and stuck them into little albums. I have some original ones dating back to 1903 but they come in many genres from roses, birds, animals, famous people etc etc. (I find them fascinating they are like little works of art! - but hey, thats just me!!)

So lovely to see familiar faces coming back . Good times coming in the summer can’t wait 💗😘
I watched your video from 2 months ago where the lively young lady was awarded the scholarship to attend fashion design school. I was very happy for her☺👍
I was so surprised to see gifts from Costa Rica on tonight show. We moved and rebuilt a home in Costa Rica...with a volcano not that far from us... in a coffee farm, 20+ years ago and where we lived for over 18 years. Your pages remind me so much of our early years there, while trying to adapt to another language with insects, snakes and creepy crawlies of all shapes and colours. My memories are held so very close to my heart. Your laughter keeps me sane...
I respectfully admit that the Unwrapped vlogs are not my favorite, BUT there is something about Antoine being there that makes the gift opening delightful. Maybe it is the wonder and surprise of his playful, child nature. He is always so excited and wants to get right in there to open the gifts. I teach students that are about the same age in America, but they are not so appreciative and sweet natured. God bless you all.
The journal is called a junque journal. You journal in it. It’s made of all sorts of paper, the tags are for journaling simple ideas, quotes, or you can use them as you said for bookmarks. It’s a “thing”. There are huge groups of us who make them.
Marie new blonde hair is lovely, nati is a joy opening the presents and so genuine as is Antoine and Marie, nati is also excellent filming she doesn’t interrupt or speak over people and snort
So nice to see Antoine’s excitement (just love him) and Nick a bit overwhelmed with his tee shirt…such honest reactions. I love the tea card made by Tracey Dunn. Treacy is making a tea cards for me… can’t wait to get them. Stephanie: You sweet nature brings people together in wonderful ways. Thank you and much love to all of you♥️
The orange butterflies are monarchs, which travel from generation to generation from southern Mexico to the Northern US/Canada and back home. Very appropriate for Isabel, who travels so far to be at home in both South Africa and France/England. (Although she, being such a hearty soul, has made the trip many times, while no one monarch ever makes the round trip.)
This paper journal is really an art piece. Lots of women make books full of these kinds of pockets and cards. The pockets come in all sizes and are just so beautiful. Enjoy this and display this in a cabinet and you will see it forever.
The butterfly bracelets were just gorgeous. What a fabulous way to honor the beauty of such wonderful creatures. I especially liked Michael’s gift of the shirt and old books! It would be really special to have him read A Christmas Carol for us in front of the fire at Christmas time. Also, we need to have some action from the bread oven now that he is back!
Hello from North Carolina! The first time I went to Biltmore I was 12 years old and we went on a Christmas candlelight tour. It was magical! The estate is so big, we got lost driving on the driveway hahaha
✨It’s amazing to see the limitless amount of gifts that you all receive! A true joy to watch! Michael Pott’s is a newer face to me and I like his spunk✨😊✨ Its exciting to learn Kat is returning soon, she’s marvelously fun and spirited too! Sending much love from California!!✨🌁❤️🌊☀️🌊✨
Oh Sue, watch all the vlogs from the first one. You will get a better idea of the cast of characters and how they are all interconnected and know each other. Take a weekend, grab some tea, snacks and wine for later, and just binge watch. You won't be disappointed. :)
The fabrics that Stephanie received where beautiful ! They definitely need to stay at the Chateau in one form or another! I’m sure Stephanie will know what to do! Hello to the new girl! Davy is such a thoughtful & kind gentleman-he never interrupts or interferes unless his view is asked for-a bit like Selmar😊
I'm SO happy you love the Biltmore books! Brings much joy to my heart! I'll definitely be traveling to the Biltmore whenever you can visit. You can see it all decked out in Christmas each year from November 5 through the new year! The china pantry is absolutely amazing and two stories!......and in the basement there is a bowling alley and a swimming pool! Also, the "behind the scenes" tour is epic and allows access to many rooms still untouched/unrenovated from many many years ago! You will LOVE it! Teresa (Nashville, Tennessee)
Could you imagine what Diesal would have done seeing the car with wheels? He would have wondered 'what kind of Dog that was?' Such a great gift for Antoine. Wonderful gifts for all! I enjoyed it so much and watching all your happy faces as you open them!
So many beautiful things. The fabrics, books and the butterfly bracelets. How wonderful it was to watch Antoine opening his gifts. Here's hoping the spring will be a new start and we can all get back to enjoying life with friends and loved ones. Life, Love & Laughter to all at Chateau Lalande.
Loved the question raised about “what could be romantic and horrid” from the book page of the beautiful handmade journal!!!! 😊⭐️💙 Yes, I agree!!!! Marriage! 🙃🖤
@ Karen E I was wondering the same thing, assumed it was some Indie Novel I haven't stumbled across. But @ Deborah Lawler answered it for us, and I would have never put two n' two together though I've read the page several times in my lifetime... It's from Little Women! The scene with Jo and Teddy talking about John the Tudor filching Meg's glove. @ Deborah Lawler describes this in more detail in an earlier comment here, if you want to check it out😊.
I just love looking for Monday nights it makes my day. The fabrics from Joe was super love them. What lovely books you were given all of them. The butterfly bracelets were so pretty and unusual .
I have never seen jewelry made out of butterfly wings before but what a brilliant idea! Also the fabrics that were sent are all stunning and I can't wait to see where they may make an appearance in the chateau. It is so good to see so many familiar faces finding their way back to La Lande. I have missed the group gatherings. It feels like maybe the world is finally starting to heal and we can all look forward to more hugs and in person parties. Much love to you all.
I toured the Biltmore and the organ is 2 or 3 stories high and they play bits while you are there. There was one veranda which I fell in love with. I wanted so bad to sit on a lounge chair and take in the awesome scenery!
It’s such a grand site to see. I was not prepared for the grandeur of the Biltmore. It’s not something I’d ever come across in the US before, more like something you’d expect to see in Europe.
Collectable Tea Cards were introduced in the 1950's as a way of advertising and retaining customer support for their product. Through the 1950's and 1960's tea companies such as Coopers, Brook Bond and Typhoo produced these cards in the millions.
Wouldn't that from Tracy's Studio make a Lovely wallpaper?? So adorable. Butterfly wings so precious. AGREE w/Steph needs framing. FABULOUS Joe! Biltmore wow

Dear Stephanie, you can’t frame everything. You’re just gonna have to use them. The fabrics you got today were just fantastic and beautiful. I know you’re just out of your mind with joy.
I may be wrong... tea cards were promotional collectable cards found in tea packages... Red Rose.. keep buying the tea and hopefully you will collect a series... trade them. In Canada, remember them as nature inspired: birds, butterflies, natural wonders

I live in Florida, USA and just told my husband the other day that I would love to take a car ride to North Carolina to the Biltmore because it is the closest place to LaLande that I may get too. Please, keep me informed if any other fans are planning a trip or if Stephanie and the gang are coming. I would love to meet you all there. So exciting!
