Can only but imagine the time spent in drafting the patterns,sourcing and choosing the beautiful fabrics and painstakingly planning ,piecing and sewing these wonderful garments. What Nikki wore yesterday reminded me loving my moms photos and the dresses of the day.
It must be so amazing to have a talent and skill like sewing the way Nikki does. Wow! Such gorgeous dresses and accessories and then to have Melchior there showing off how handsome men can really dress themselves. I'm in awe.

Not only Stephanie ...but I got the sense that this kind of attire was deja vu for Phillip. He seemed so naturally dapper ...like he had dressed this way before as a very dandy gentleman ...perhaps in another life! Anyway, both Stephanie and Phillip would be perfect extras in period dramas, or even main characters themselves ...and in a way they already are! ...living in a castle.

The vintage clothes were so amazing! The blue dress was superb and divine all at once.
I'm so impressed by this. Phillip is not the only one wishing we could dress more like that! That looks so much fun, and everything is so beautifully made. That evening gown was stunning on Stephanie even not being precisely made for her, I can only imagine how it sill look on Nikki. What a charming couple.

Amazing costumes and as a seamstress I can appreciate the workmanship which has gone into making these stunning gowns. It would be really amazing if Nikki and Melchior , Philip and Stephanie and John etc did a photo shoot together in various periods of costume using his carriages and some vintage cars at his Chateau! They could then be made into a book or calendar or both and sold by each other!

Those clothes were made to enhance the beauty of the body and I guess beauty implies sacrifice. I don´t think I could wear so many layers and so thight. A beautiful travel to the past!
I loved that! My aunt made a Queen Elizabeth 1 dress for my cousin and gave it to me when I was old enough. I was about 8 and it fit perfectly. I too wore it until I could no longer fit in it. Happy days and thank you for bringing them back.

Oh thos was a real treat! You should invite Nikki and Melchior back and interview them about historic dress, fashions and all the widesprrlead modern myths that need correcting! So so many think women were perpetually uncomfortable and restrictively laced up in hostoric corsetry, when in fact, properly sewn historic corsets did the opposite: they took all the weight of SO many layers of clothing OFF the back and shoulders of the woman, and created a pinch and scratch free fit, with the shift worn closest to the body. It's all proportions of illusion, lots of women did physical labour in long dresses and couldn't have managed without these very sturdy and flexy corsets!
The skill and accuracy of her dressmaking is truly impressive.
If you guys are at all thinking of period clothing for any of yoir upcoming events (hint hint) you should talk to her now about a commission, because it takes many fittings and much handsewing to finish a full outfit from shift to full dress. Not to mention tailoring a suit. You both looked lovely in period attire!

I don't think Stephanie can marry in the church again as a catholic because she is divorced. I don't know if that includes the chapel.
@@debbierudolph9489 But truly that is her personal business. She can get married in her Chapel on her land. The Chapel has been deconsecrated. Many people have license as an ordained minister. I am sure out of all her followers someone would be very happy to marry Phillip and Stephanie in the Chapel. .
@blairwarren5418 her chapel is still consecrated. The catholic priest still does mass in the chapel.

What talented & interesting guests & how much fun trying these beautiful historic outfits. I’ve seen the Bath extravaganza where people dress up. Nikki & Melchior are going to have an amazing time. Stephanie, you truly have a wonderful way with words!

Reminds me more of the wonderful costumes worn in the 2019 movie version of Little Women. It's a great movie and the time period fits. Bet Steph and Phillip would love it. Not a fan of Scarlett O'Hara. She is too much the narcissist for me.

The outgaements not so much, that’s why you wear all the undergarments, they can get washed, and act as a protective layer

@@lilkirsche the costumes that Stephanie and Philip are trying on are from the 1860’s period. Stephanie’s is more generic European based while Philip’s is more French due to the breeches, which was very popular among men mid century.

I have enjoyed seeing the style of Nikki and her chap but I had no idea she was an expert seamstress. To be such a skilled dressmaker in this day and age is not to be sniffed at. I love her creations, absolutely stunning and Stephanie & Philip looked great too. I'd love to see the dresses actually being worn by Nikki seeing as she's made them to perfectly fit herself.
