This is the Bible passage that changed me. The very first sermon I heard after I decided to truly come to Christ was a sermon titled "The Narrow Way." The pastor taught from Matthew 7:21-23 and the moment I read Jesus' words, "I never I knew you," is a moment I'll never forget. Those words jumped off the page of my Bible and hit my soul. It was a literal moment of the Word dividing my joints and marrow, soul and spirit! I'm so grateful for that moment happening to me, it changed my life! It made me realize it's really having a relationship with Christ Jesus. It's not religious activity, but it's true intimacy. What would it look like if I claimed to know my mom, dad, or any other family member, but never spent time with them? What if all they knew were the things I do/did for them? They wouldn't be able to say they truly know me, they would only know what I am capable of doing for them. Unfortunately, that's how a lot of Christian's relationships are with Jesus. They are quick to thank Him for His salvation, but then say, now that I'm saved, what else can you do for me. They never consider having an intimate relationship with Him. It's like He says, not everyone who says to Him Lord, I did x, y, and z for you, will enter the kingdom. It’s scary to think, many will hear Him say, I never knew you. Thanks for another great word!
That same exact scripture saved me as well. Changed everything once I read that. Jesus knows my name and I am so happy I have a relationship with the great King, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!!
Thank you for this reminder. Not by religious performance or traditions, but by receiving salvation through Christ, relationship with the Lord. It's easy to get offset and forget this, especially for church born folks like myself. Sometimes we think we are born into the Kingdom of God bc of that (church born)all our lives, or bc of a lineage of Christians in the family, but I've heard it said that God doesn't have any grandchildren. This is a personal thing between you and your Creator. Mama and Daddy can't secure your entry with God, you must go to/through Jesus for yourself. I thank God that He's gave me time to understand this and to learn to depend on Him and what he did and not think that I'm good and that's why I should be allowed into heaven.
Thank You 😢 ! I understand it not by works ! But I love to serve ! Because that is who God made me to be. I had a surgery on my mouth. Before that I was looking for a job. So I could get a car. My head was hurting ! Thought I was stressing ! It was were I had a tooth reconstructed in 2005. And the Dentist messed up my mouth! He left rod’s in my mouth for 15 years ! This Dentist in Rockwell, my God ! Help me the poison that had built up in body my God was hurting me like crazy! I don’t have family here in Texas But God ! And your messages from your family ! Not to mention The Great Dr. Tony Evans. I call him the General of the Gospel ! God truly use all of you ! The lady that talked to me over phone at OCBF Church was amazing ! Thank all of you guys! I Bless You Guy’s ! I still need a job and transportation! I’m blessed and doing better ! I popped up at the church on the the 1sts Sunday of the month. I still on pain medication ! And gums had a smell ! I paid a $ 100. To get there and back ! But it was well worth it ! I mess being in church ! I am living in Fate, Texas. No public transportation on Saturday or Sunday ! I Will Always Ask Lord God ! What Is His Will Before Doing Anything ! I am not prideful ! But I love trusting God ! That way you don’t give up the right for the wrong ! And Lord Jesus Will keep You ! If it’s God’s Will pray me in OCBF Church This Sunday ! I am nothing without Him !
