☀️ The Good Life - 08/25/2024 (109) - Needing little

- Day 109 - It’s fascinating to me how, as I approach a life of freedom, there’s nothing I feel the need to prepare. In the past, whenever I was gearing up for a holiday, there was always a list-new clothes, a hat, a camera, maybe some fresh luggage. But now, with the biggest “holiday” of my life just ahead, I find myself wanting nothing. Well, except for a new iPhone-but only because my old one is broken and needs replacing.
I thought maybe that guy, softypapa, might want something for his work wandering the mountains of Japan. Perhaps a new backpack, hiking boots, or the latest video camera with all the bells and whistles? Nope. All he’s after is a bear bell and a bottle of bear spray, plus maybe one of those mosquito-repellent gadgets for burning katorisenko while hiking. Other than that, he’s good-no need for more stuff.
It feels so different from before, when each chapter of life seemed to demand all sorts of gear to make the experience feel more authentic. Not anymore. What I’ve already got is mostly good enough. All I really want now is time-the one irreplaceable necessity of every life adventure. #GoingAlone (KB)

I love the intimacy of this channel. It is as though Curt is a neighbor and I'm visiting him in the am with my hot beverage in hand. Go in peace.
Thank you for your kind comment! I'm glad to hear that the atmosphere is coming through on the channel. I hope to keep it going once I return to Japan and resume my solo adventures in the wilderness. I really appreciate your feedback and for being part of the journey with me. Have a wonderful day! 🌸
Indeed. It's been a calling card of his channel since the very beginning... but it was often hiking together rather than coffee in the morning. :)
I have to remind myself although I may know Kurt, he doesn't know us the same way!
