☀️ The Good Life - 08/24/2024 (110) - Being free at sixty

- Day 110 - In one week, Yumiko will get the keys to our new place. The following day, all our new appliances will arrive, and then Yumiko’s full-time profession will be homemaking-along with anything else she chooses to pursue. Starting over from scratch at sixty feels more freeing than it did at twenty; the noise of a post-adolescent mind is long gone, and the worries about an uncertain future have faded (with one certainty now ahead). It’s like laying out a blanket and meal on the sand at sundown-most of the day’s show is behind us, yet something spectacular still awaits before night falls. Being sixty and free is certainly a wonderful place to be. #GoingAlone (KB)
