He met his wife in 2015 and they got married in 2018 and now have 2 children. They have a 2 1/2 year old boy and a newborn girl. Bridgette is the only person that has been able to break into that locked room. He credits her a lot for "saving" him. His mental health has been so rough on him. This was a great reaction you guys!
"It's almost like pain is a safe feeling" Makes sense. Because it's familiar. I think there's a large amount of "the devil you know" and fearing that things could be worse.
That is very true! I think also in the sense that the pain, in a way, reminds yourself that you can still “feel”. In a world where many try to numb the pain and not feel anything, the demons always return, until you turn and face them.
When she said that it reminded me of the saying "Better the devil you know than the devil you dont". Its so spot on on why people have a hard time letting go.
We’re no experts by any means, but the point of our channel is to say those memories that are buried, the really hard and tough ones. The ones that caused heart break and trauma. We’re saying that burying them, without taking the time to heal from those wounds, will cause them to grow in the shadows. Eventually they will make an appearance, in the form of an outburst or unrational behavior with no explanation. By doing the hard work, facing those demons head on, through the pain and emotion, will start the healing process as you dig to find the root of the issue. Our faith walk and asking for guidance by the Holy Spirit and wisdom and discernment from God, was what started the whole journey. So wanting/having a relationship with Jesus, is the first, and most vital step to that journey. It may be possible to go alone, but will be 100x harder. Will those memories still be there? Yes, but after this healing process, it won’t have the control over you like it once did. That memory can become a testimony to help others overcome the same issues/hurts/traumas. God Bless!
@@VeteranCouple Very true I know he is real. A lil story for ya, I was baptized in a place I held dear in my heart for several reason and deiced to have the confirmation done on the following Sunday during normal services at our church. While watching the other people who had been baptized that day getting their confirmations, I heard someone ask me "What are you waiting for?" I looked around to see who could have said that and NO one was there I asked my now Ex-wife if she had heard it, she said heard what. That is when I knew I had to find 2 elders now. It didn't take me very long to find them. Thank you, Mike and Tom.

Sir, I'm so happy to see you sharing this with think incredible lady. And Mame? You have no idea how connected you are to NF's music. You have mentioned several things in this song that will come up later in several different songs of his. Look forward to seeing future reactions. Thank you both for your service to our country.
Everytime I see military people I think of. kangaroo cry by blue October. They wrote that for the soldiers and did a live performance I think on a base somewhere
You are missing out on NF music videos. Do yourself a favor and watch all of them. They are short movies that give you more connections to his emotions, which makes the words impact even deeper. NF is and always will be my favorite artist and story teller. God bless you and thank you for your service and sacrifices.

I love your reaction. Thank for your service I come from a long line of military veterans. Keep doing what you’re doing. Be safe. God bless one big love.
Watched your Intro, excited for your NF Journey. I had two brothers serve in the ARMY and one in the Marines. I lost my daughter at 10 months old in 2015, NF finds you and you don't find NF. That's when his music came to me, when I needed it most. Stopped drinking alcohol for about 7 years and I started working out 7 days a week instead. You mention that one room, for some reason I can never lock up the memory of bringing my daughter down the stairs and having to place her in that casket and having to answer the question of "open or closed casket?"
Wow thank you for your openness, we also have a little girl and I couldn’t imagine what you went through! I think it’s so important to share our stories because of how much hope it brings others. You going through what you did is going to help someone else who is dealing with something similar! God bless you!
My nf friends welcome back! This song was actually my first encounter with nf almost two years ago. And it got my attention immediately, and let me just say that I also had to find a counter to balance out the nf journey just because I was stuck in a hospital bed after 3 surgeries from a car accident. So I’m just going to tell you what worked for me, I found a young lady in a genre of music that I rarely listened to. She just turned 18 this month and the first song I heard she was 9! So I had nf during the day and saved her evenings and nightcaps. If y’all are interested please allow me to introduce you to the best female voice in the industry. Angelina Jordan- I Put a Spell on You at 9 years old! Okay I’m sorry, I don’t know how to send links……… I’m old! Guess you’ll have to look her up, that’s my bad 😂

I didn't listen to rap music either until 3 years ago when I discovered Tom MacDonald and through watching reactions to his music, I came across a reaction to Mansion. This song is so powerful and it connected to something that was going on with a family member at the time. I have since gone on the journey with countless reactors as well as with my husband. NF went through a lot of trauma as a child and his albums are his journey of growing, healing and finding hope. He is a very talented artist and has a way of connecting all his music together which is unique. One reactor I watch says NF is the "marvel cinematic universe of the music industry" and I love that description. As a poet myself, his lyrics amaze me and so many of his songs have so much wisdom in them for someone so young (Remember This, Change, Just Like You, Prideful, Nate, Oh Lord….). NF is now one of my favorite artists. My husband, granddaughter and I went his Hope concert last July and it was amazing. The second part of his Hope tour starts this May. You may have to incorporate that into your journey. 😉
Thank you so much for the comment and sharing some of your story with us! That is a great description of his music journey! We have a long way to go and we appreciate you joining us on the journey!
Great reaction/discussion. With respect to your comments about not wanting to revisit those bad/yucky feelings, I like to equate it to "physical self." As those who served, we know all about exercise - we intentionally make our bodies uncomfortable by introducing pain in order to strengthen them. The mind is no different...by revisiting and processing those feelings/memories (and learning from them), while extremely painful, it strengthens our minds and helps them to grow. That is essential in developing your self-confidence and self-worth [i.e. understanding why you don't feel good enough is necessary to realize that you are indeed good enough...as a parent, as a spouse, as a human].

I don't know,,,I agree with some of his references to the human condition, but, I differ in that my life experiance was supportive parents together for 65 yrs. two sibs that were all treated equaly,,,we fought with each other but noone else better step to them....Pops was a MAN of few words and me and him coversed in grunts and monosyablels, but he taught me about being a Man and Responsibilities a MAN and Woman take on. Don't take them on unless you ganna carry through. It's a Shame that so many come from the opposite enviorment and It's impressive to see trials and tribulations acknowledged and learned from,,, and to incorporate/overcome this to structure your NOW SELF. Thanks Dave for sharing more of your story! Yeah, I had a good upbringing, for the most part! But thinking back as I raise my own kids, makes me realize things that did have a lasting effect on me. Thankfully I got tied in with a great support system that has help guide me into the man I am today and continue to challenge me to become better! There is definitely a lack of men in this world that live by morals and standards, but hoping to make a difference! It is a shame that some people have horrible upbringing and then have to work through the trauma! But when they overcome, they always have a testimony to help others! Thanks for the comment!
It's really funny when they say they served us like no your killing people you don't stand for us. Murder is murder if you killed you don't deserve life. Your beliefs don't make killing ok. Ok
Not sure of your name young lady but you have a huge tell when you feel and think something. I noticed it more in the third verse. You look up and to your right very hard and fast. It’s subconscious but as a marine (who is you) it’s something a nobody (who is me) noticed. Not sure if you know but I’m just looking out.
Thank you, that is very interesting! I (VeteranLady) didn’t know I did that, but it is not surprising, we all have natural tells when our minds go to memories. That’s very cool that you noticed that. You’re very intuitive!
WOW ...Thank you both for your service TOTAL RESPECT. NF's journey has helped me understand mine. There are many parallels. His mother and I were lost on similar roads. In Nathan's music I feel the pain I've caused my child. (coincidentally they are both the age) Absolutely I fully embrace accountability. I wanna fix it before I die. Veteran Couple you will help many. This medium reachs out years after its abandon. 😇 Purpose a beautiful thing. My initials are also. NF. My son always called Maja instead of mom. You are awesome Maja!! You have done something that so many people don’t ever get to, you not only recognized a problem you had but you worked to fix it and heal from it. We all end up doing things that we aren’t proud of, but we believe it’s what we do next that defines our character. And thankfully we have a great God who loves us all through everything. Speaking of homesteading, if you are near Tn., The Homesteading Festival in Columbia at Rory Feek’s farm sounds to be something you’d love. June 4-6 I believe. Google and check out.
That’s sounds awesome! We will definitely check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
Shalom
Ok
May I ask what you are referring to?
@VeteranCouple going to someone else's home makes you far from a hero you are the taliban to them

Are you ready for How could you leave us? Bring tissues.
We’ll have tissues ready!
When I'm ask him why Maja he replied "Maya means Wise one in Norwegian. You are the last of the 💥 💥 💥 boomers you. You should know stuff.
sign nfmaja.
God bless you and your family!
