I’m always impressed at how they can get the circuit by listening to the audio
Lucas King nah it’s not that difficult, if you know the circuits and the turns it’s pretty easy
They've heard the exact patterns of noises tens or hundreds of times throughout their career so the brain will probably recognize the track quickly without even thinking about it that much.
I don't know what happens in F1, but in MotoGP the riders can imagine to do a full lap turn by turn and they finish the lap with almost the same time they do in real life. But I think is a lot of harder if the sound doesn't start at the starting line.
