How did they even let me build THIS??

- When I first saw this beautiful old log, with the perfect curve in it, I knew it had to become a whale tail. As it turned out, that was the easy part. The last big jump on the trail was not so easy to get right...

Whale, that's quite the tail!
You guys need to take a trip town to Tassie!
Thumbnail looks like it would have been an interesting feature.
But what it ended up being didn't even need the tree, it's just a huge bridge.
Agree. Hats off to you for all the hard work, but sadly, imo the bridge just hides the beauty of the tree. I would have preferred to see you incorporate the tree in a more natural way that really features it: like only adding a small ramp onto it, then riding on the actual tree itself (it's wide enough without shaving the top), and just shaping/cutting the end lip to ensure a smooth pop to a gap jump, and building a wooden or dirt off-ramp. It would have been less work, required less wood, looked more natural, and be more sustainable. Unfortunately, the tree is almost completely covered in timber, it seems like the rider can barely even tell the tree is there.
For most people, this is just another trail building video from their favourite youtuber. But through a filmmakers lens, I am super impressed with your story telling, and how you somehow manage to make it better every single video. I think you might have the best story telling channel on youtube.
aaah! Thanks Markus! I try so hard on that side, so glad to heard that kind of feedback :)
Also the selected music inclusions are very nice.
Well done, both of you.
Need some of these types of builds back on Canadian soil!
The whale is smiling too! I love this Eric. Beautiful job!
Yuka seemed so much more confident with this bike than the new one ... great video as always.
that track looks so fun!!
absolutely love the amount of effort you've put into this track
Always a good day when bcpov uploads
The log is almost a smiling whale. Love it.
Awesome to see the trail finished! Solid effort mate!
Thanks Luke! You'll have to go down and ride it :)
@@BCpov Great Trail Eric & if Luke dose go a might have to join him 🤘
Very creative use of that tree. The finished product looks awesome and I love the shirt. 😀
I love the shirt too 🧡 Heard you're in the shirt making business now too!
thanks for watching Aaron!
Finally a new building episode 🎉
squaring off all that log without a beam guide is wild, respect.
Love the use of the whale and the extra options on the jumps and berm!
Loved this video mate. Rudi and I watched the whole thing through. We both loved how well you were using that digger. She kept saying “that’s dads work” haha great job mate
Thanks man!
haha.. that could be dads work!
Do you have any interest in trail building?
Pretty cool your last ride with your shadow!! Great trail! 🤘
Watching a new video on your channel just puts a smile on my face. You always make me want to ride my bike so bad. Congrats on the track, looks sick, lot of hard work there. Cheers from Spain ❤
Fun series man. Like previous you, I only have only build trails by hand. It would be super cool to learn how to use an excavator.
It is pretty handy!
That looks so much fun!!
Nice build. Good seeing how the whaletail worked. Nice job mate 😁
Duuuuuuuuuude, you are amazing!! WICKED bike track. Sweet Whale feature!! amazing!!!
This was so Epic!! Good on you.
Petition to make people stop saying first
I don’t understand why people get chuffed about being first in the coms it’s probably about bragging rights oh look I was first to comment on a video whooped doo as if anyone cares 😂😂
I second that.
837th 😊
Nah every comment is good for the algorithm
Fourth to agree
nice job, well done
well done on the trail i notice that your jumping is quite right to help that bend down before the take off and push up while going up the take off if keep up the good work
22:07 I'm getting Endless Summer 2 vibes. You and Yuka need to keep this adventure going onto another country. Maybe New Zealand next?
Well, to be fair, it’s building a whale tail on top of an old dead tree. But totes dope nonetheless 🤘🏻
Well done!!
Very nice...much success!
Lol, I was hoping for Eh Line...
A study in good trail building 😎 - you're just building stuff all over the world, mate!
NGL I just noticed that the BCPOV logo is a chain link
😅
This is awesome 👏
You're definitely going to need to come back to 'straya again to ride your trail once bedded in!
I'd love to!
wow I don’t know what is more beautiful the work that has gone into the The whale tail or the feature itself Plus it’s so nice to have the rain back in the UK after five days of 18 to 25° use British folk don’t like the heat rather have our Rein beck 😂😂
Took me a while to realise you guys are in Australia 🇦🇺 😅
Yuka is so funny with the "just send it".
very good!
this trail looks so much fun😢😮😮🎉😂🎉😢😮😮😮😮
Where abouts in Tasmania is this trail
Why not just keep the log as the riding surface? With all the added lumber, the log is barely part of the feature and not necessary.
Bruh
i saw you met Layla Sharman!
You need a sombrero
You deserve one
2:57 unless the teeth on that file are reversed, I can see why you are having such a hard time cutting the log :P
Those files directional? Push and not pull?
@@BCpov Yep. In North America anyway. Maybe they do things differently over there.
‘You know what else has curves’
‘My but’
2:42 bro look at the phone
Are you trying to built trail that dosent aquire pedalling because on my home trails some times you need sprint and hard pull to make it to landing
Mate that’s a tree
Who is going to do maintenance? Local MTB builders?
Simon is the resident builder!
You should not have decked the log and you said it was going to be a drop off the end. Could have been a double black diamond feature but you turned it green. I'm 65 and wouldn't hesitate to ride that.
Q n A

Tasmania and I'm Canadian
the jump was fine before u chopped it just need to commit or boost it.
I see your guy's trouble with jumping I've noticed you are very stiff in the air and not too confident. Sometimes you gotta just send it trusting your skills and learn to whip or do something in the air please 🙏
Why the Trump begging ad preceded this cool vid?
Clickbait thumbnail, blech

Your guys‘ jumping technique isn’t good. You have to stand up as you‘re riding up the take off (and well I also do the same mistake as you do quite often)
Trash talk
@@Letmecookhimm that’s not trash talk that’s just some advice

You hid the whole tree underneath the boards. May as well just used dirt.
I have ridden this trail it’s is so fun but the lips are steep
Every time erik posts I know its going to be great, can’t wait to watch it! Also, I would really like seeing more BC vids, I liked them a bit more. This is fine but you can even see on vid performance that bc videos do better
Hey guys what is that level app called as I’ve seen it a few times but I can’t find it!
Always a good day when BCPov drops a build video
Sick video dude!
We have to keep telling Yuka to learn to bunny hop so she can pop off jumps. It will make it all so much easier.
I’ve always wanted to go on a rant about how Yuka just needs to learn how to actually jump instead about going all dead-sailor but I don’t want to be rude…
Awesomeness! I love you are both still in Tassie too! (Unless you uploaded this from home 🙂)

very cool!
Nice work
So awesome
If you feel that you aren't hitting it, you could cut off the landing at 17:15 so that you make it, which could help you to hit other jumps. I am also worried about the log moving over time which could make the feature unsafe
For a trail that’s supposed to be intermediate, you’re having a lot of trouble, even when you can clear the much harder jump lines. If it’s intermediate, this jump line should be almost too easy for you.
I know you can't fix it now, but a roller between the last berm and the jump would probably have helped a lot with speed and confidence rolling in.
Sick build. That intro music sounds like the regular show basketball god song lol.
great! love the vid and the trail, good name too
I was wondering when you were going to post this. It has been a while since the first part was up. Another reason you visit Tassie. So many quality parks down there. Well done on this trail.
Always love the music choice in your videos. I should really go to Tas sometime!
Did u put oil in the chainsaw so it doesn't burn out and makes it run smoother?
