@hgffrank they can't and don't they do suck but yea this video I honestly don't think ai wrote. It's so on the spectrum that i can assure you an actual autist wrote it.... and yea I'm a server there too. They're the worst on many levels but this video is full of legit sue worthy liablism and defamation type sheet. Like at least research first.... I could give them enough facts in five mins to make the point of cracker barrel is dying/desperate and there's a reason customers and employees are disappointed and disappearing lol. This is just a trash way of doing it...
Cracker Barrel is on the long slide downhill. Our local Cracker Barrel had one hour wait for seating in half empty dining room. In our seating area orders were placed. We left after waiting another hour for food. Next downhill hint a new CEO and sale to a holding company. Bye bye.
I’m a manager at Cracker Barrel and started out as a grill cook. I am covered with more than 20 tattoos and they have never kept me from developing. A lot of these “rules” in this video are falsified.
As a former employee I can say the part about not working for competitors is wrong. I worked with someone who also worked at Denny's and did the same job at both. Some days he worked both jobs. Also managers are allowed to help. My managers would often be seen on the line or working the pass. They would even buss tables. You also get a discount when not at work. 30% off retail and food.
After I quit yesterday I feel so much better and I haven't had any anxiety attacks send my last shift at Cracker Barrel but then what got me through is that I was going to tell my boss after my chef ended that I will no longer be working there and handed a letter I typed up and put the last date. So many rules you have to follow that it just feels like you're working insecurities when you're just working at a restaurant / retail. I worked in the retail side and I'm so glad that it's over!
I suspect that very few stores in California are run very differently or would be in hot water with our laws. No break... per Cal rules and laws = big time fines. Restricting employees from having another job... not going to happen here.
(1) Make sure that the customer's hot food is delivered cold. (2) Make sure bacon is burned to a cinder. (3) Keep the customer waiting 40 minutes before taking the order. (4) Don't come back to refill soda or coffee. (5) Make sure that a group of customers aren't all served at the same time, but rather that some are served a half hour after the others. (6) Complain to the manager that country music annoys them. (7) Never apologize no matter how poor the service has been.
Why did they fire you? Kinda makes it harder to sympathize when we don't really know why you were fired. For all we know you could've consistently done drugs in the kitchen or some other dumb thing. But if you got fired for no reason then that's just cruel.
@SiobhanFalque the reason was made up by claiming "lack of personal hygiene " because I had a an inch at the base of my nose and a customer said I picked my nose
I was hired and quit a job after just three days. Their “written policies” reached beyond the boundaries of the job,the building and the grounds of the company. They “thought” they controlled their people on personal time and after hours…..WRONG !! Crackle barrel is not an equal opportunity company. It’s no wonder they are closing down. 👍
What, you can't grab a side gig? I went through that before. I found a work around. Instead of working for cash, I took a restaurant and bar tab. Worked like a charm for 20 years.:)
I used to eat at Cracker Barrel at least twice a week. While I was away from Texas for 3 years, I was not near one. When I came back I found that they had gone down hill. I loved the food but hated the junk they sell that is all made in China. I also saw them treat employees poorly but I am not against all the rules.
Hence we see CRACKER BARREL supposedly failing.. Like Stupid tatoo rules and working for the same supplier is Stupid! Also not goving your employees a Free Meal is just WRONG and Evil.. But given CB status of surviving is expected out of them.
Cracker Barrel food is never hot, and the portion size of the food is not large enough. I have no problems with their rules , just need to do better on food being hot and portions are larger.
High prices, poooor service, loud echoing dining room, hard to get a table....Rather go to Fogo de Chao for their $20 salad bar, water to drink, and tip. Excellent food.
This information is out of date. Many employees at the store I work at have multiple jobs to make ends meet. We have been wearing polo shirts for years now because of how hard it is to keep an affordable supply of Oxford shirts. We are only 1:50 minutes in here. The chain of command is inept and unwilling to leave a paper trail. What next in the out-of-date Brad's wife? I work the 3rd shift and I am the only one on the cleaning crew because the other person is too old and of a certain background so, if anyone tells him he needs to do something he can sue for discrimination.
Wait. I predict this chain will shrink in the next few years with the drop in their quality and these outdated rules. Our local Cracker Barrel is an embarrassment on so many levels. I remember this chain fondly, but lately, it's a hangout for retirees and people looking for something they hope will be consistent. Guess what? IT ISN'T. This chain will not die, but it will contract.
No there's not, I work there over 15 years and still do, if you only knew after pandemic and new ceo, they take crap and put gravy on it, people will eat anything. Nasty, I will not take my own family there,
Worst job that I EVER had was server for these nuts...Lasted 9 months, before I quit because they changed my schedule to require working on Thanksgiving day, at the last second. They were controlling on a crazy level.
Lmao... employees are "family." This is just another way to say we pay minimum wage. This video makes me less likely to go back. The rules are an absolute joke.
What do you think of these rules?
Hi, I work there. Not blaming you,but none of this is true.
Ps. That server hasn't smiled in 17 years
BULLCRAP
If a company can't provide wages that are livable, it should be illegal to block employees from seeking additional work elsewhere.

This is encouraging. I have over 20 tattoos also and was hoping to get a job here on Monday but this video made me nervous about the tattoo issue :O

Omg and you know every store has that one special manager that takes his job and authority wayyy too serious and demands all of these rules.
Ikr

They better f___king have high payrate, if you can't work elsewhere.
I worked for the company back in 1997..was fired...went back several years later and still banned from working with the company..wth!?!
I mean you might be unhygienic
This video makes me not want to eat there again.
Agree
Me 2
Ah yes, hard work and responsibility. Love cracker barrel.
Actually, I have only eaten in a Cracker Barrel once. That was enough. The employees are not the problem, the food is.
@@BeKindBeRationaldepends on what u order I used work there not all stores are bad

They are tarnishing they own reputation.
What, you can't grab a side gig?
I went through that before. I found a work around.
Instead of working for cash, I took a restaurant and bar tab. Worked like a charm for 20 years.:)
And then the starting serving alcohol and everything went down the drain
I used to eat at Cracker Barrel at least twice a week. While I was away from Texas for 3 years, I was not near one. When I came back I found that they had gone down hill.

Times are tough it's none of their business where they're employees work as a 2nd job.
Jeans and polos are allowed now, as well as piercings. Most of the rest us straight from trying manuals and videos...I used to be a trainer.
Cracker Barrel has totally gone to the pits and as far as country home has left the business completely
If you are working for tips, you can make them pay you at least minimum wage for all work times not available for tips.
Hence we see CRACKER BARREL supposedly failing.. Like Stupid tatoo rules and working for the same supplier is Stupid!
Also not goving your employees a Free Meal is just WRONG and Evil.. But given CB status of surviving is expected out of them.
Loyalty my ass. if they don’t need you, they’re not gonna show you any loyalty so never ever showed loyalty to work that’s just insane
I guess this is why the high turnover of employees..
Tips are low because the prices are low. Even siightly higher end restaurants get better tips.
Cracker Barrel food is never hot, and the portion size of the food is not large enough. I have no problems with their rules , just need to do better on food being hot and portions are larger.

If they are calling themselves family they have no idea about family!
They even control your relatives?? Crazy. I don't like any of their food anyways.
Sounds like Cult Barrel to me

How does one control who your family works for?🤔
So not a equal opportunity employer
Still doesn't explain why they fired Brad's wife
Wait. I predict this chain will shrink in the next few years with the drop in their quality and these outdated rules. Our local Cracker Barrel is an embarrassment on so many levels. I remember this chain fondly, but lately, it's a hangout for retirees and people looking for something they hope will be consistent. Guess what? IT ISN'T. I love it. Standards

A 4 ⭐️ waiter is wild
It sounds like a cult.
That’s not how they treated me
Worst job that I EVER had was server for these nuts...Lasted 9 months, before I quit because they changed my schedule to require working on Thanksgiving day, at the last second. They were controlling on a crazy level.
Love to eat at cracker barrel
Sounds like a narcissistic company , a little bit absurd
What is your point of this crash 101 management blitz.Better start on the language barrier.
There is no contracts and a lot of this video is untrue.
Lmao... employees are "family." This is just another way to say we pay minimum wage.
This video makes me less likely to go back. The rules are an absolute joke.
Food alright but that company sucks 😂
Who gave you this information? Because it is terribly inaccurate. I hope they sue you for all the false claims you’re making.
The company is also antigay
Yea..... So what..... So am I ......
