❤Wow, on this etude and your analysis. 🎉 I was playing around with Forscore and a pencil on the iPad and was head scratching with everything Cally mentioned this week for the etude. The first section only has two non chromatic hiccups in the ascending lines. The second half is wild with 15 non chromatic hiccups in the descending lines and I am still not convinced I got every one. You nailed the musical theory on the anchor notes. Very cool writing. I never would have noticed or even looked at that without your comment. I love, love, love your tips on the alternate fingerings and the opinion on the banana key😂😂😂. The video is gold with just the banana key aside…it should be made into a short😅. So happy for the weekly encouragement . Thank you Cally
One helpful bit of info is because this is based on French publishing rules from the late 18th and early 19th century, the reason you see natural accidental marks when the key signature is not showing any flats/sharps is due to the rule that once a note is sharped or flat in a measure (regardless of octave) it will remain so for all octaves of that note. This is contrary to modern notation and seems pretty isolated to French publishing.
On my part, I really like the left key (when possible) for D#/A# ! My teacher said: you paid for it, use it ! lol But more seriously I always try to keep the movement in the same hand and not synchronize fingers from both hands. So as hesaid, you played on the right 10 000 times, play it on left as much and then decide if its worth the effort or not.
