Yup. They need Sasaki, Crotchet, and one of Snell, Fried or Burnes if they want to virtually guarantee a stack of Aces for the playoffs. As some people have said, May and or Gonsolin could end up in the BP by the end of the season which could be an amazing way to go.
@@livinb450 Actually, I think it’s going to be a one-year prove-it deal no matter where. And to answer your question, in my emotionally driven state, my opinion is pay him whatever it takes lol. 😂
Snell and burns can’t freak out on this as this video speaks on dodgers currently have a very weak pitching situation, unless you want to go through the same as last year
I believe that you can't go wrong with either Burnes or Snell. But i also like the consistency of Burnes and think he will still be elite for most of a 7 year contract. Perhaps 4-5 of those years.
It's way smarter to delay Ohtani's pitching plan until August. The more guys that can be delayed until late season from appearing in any games the fresher they'll be probably when they start their individual seasons. I'd try to experiment with May and have him change his arm angle like Maniea did. May is built for a sidearm three quarter or sidearm delivery . And more sweepers with his lanky frame. Dustin's frame wasn't made to throw overhand. or overhand three quarter. His pitches are less effective or more straight in the past.
No brainer for Roki to wait since he gets more money. Any of the top 3 pitchers would be a nice addition. I just hope we don’t overpay or give them too many years.
Burnes has thrown nearly 600 innings the last three years. He's going to get paid like a guy who can be counted on for 200 innings a year. I think its more than likely the Dodgers will be employing a 6 man rotation. Is it smart to pay a guy for 200 innings and then limit him to throwing 140? Would he even be on board with doing this? Burnes is probably the best pitcher of the bunch but i believe Snell and Fried fit the team strategy better.
The Dodgers should continue negotiations with Burnes, Snell or Fried, regardless of Sasaki. They will have plenty of arms to deal if these two come through.
I have Snell 1, Burnes 2, Buehler 3, and maybe Fried 4. I'm not very confident in Fried for October, both in getting to October as well as performing in October. He hasn't been that good. And if you're going to be be paying the years and the QO, you want the quality in October to be a bit higher, and you want to make sure he'll last most of that contract. Snell has no QO attached, less years, best stuff. He makes the most sense for this team.
@@edennoel16 Same. But I do think there's room for Walker AND Snell. Ohtani not gonna start right away, they probably will be careful with Glasnow and Yamamoto. May and Gonsolin are either destined for the bullpen or low usage. Knack, Casparius, probably going back to AAA. And Kershaw probably won't be back until June or later. And I think Bobby is a non-factor in my mind for MLB play until he proves he can get his head right.
This is a guy who is surrendering hundreds of millions of dollars by being posted now instead of waiting two years. Two or three million is not going to sway his decision. Ultimately, whichever team that convinces him that they can improve his game and maximize his talent, will be the one he goes to. The unknown is how much a factor personal relationships play into his decision.
Los Angeles Dodgers would be best for Sasaki because they can maximize his talent and no pressure to have impact immediately. Then add the fact that Ohtani and Yamamoto can help him transition to MLB better than other teams can.
@@gerald828 Opposing teams can point out that Dodgers pitchers suffer major injuries at a higher rate than other teams. Personally, I believe all teams have that issue, but the Dodgers did have a troubling number of pitchers go down in 2024. Plus, sasaki reportedly has a good relationship with darvish. There are also other interested clubs with high profile players from Japan, such as imanaga with the cubs, senga with the Mets, and Yoshida with Boston who can all help sasaki transition to MLB. The issue is, no one really knows what the biggest influencing factor will be, except for sasaki. Maybe he already has a favorite. We just have to wait and see.
Considering this delay in posting Sasaki could amount to an extra $5M for him, why did so many people assume he'd be posted early, when his max. signing bonus was limited to $2.5M?
7:10 why is Kershaw expected to sign with the Dodgers? He has been a mainstay for the franchise BUT he didn’t do anything last year and he is on rapid decline. IMO Buehler yes, Kershaw no
I'm not sure why the lack of love for Flaherty, but I have seen several reports that the Dodgers aren't making any serious bids for him and I have even seen something saying he's looking at the Padres as a possible next destination. I hope he stays with the Dodgers though.

It’s just so nice to be discussing how they can get better, not fretting about having to win the WS. Really excited for what 2025 is going to bring.

It’s not based on logic, rather on emotions, but I don’t care who they get as long as they bring back Walker. 🙏
The problem is someone is going to bet on Walker for 3+ years, and 20m aav. Should the Dodgers go that high?

Great vid! The graphic here 3:33 really highlights how bad the dodgers need pitching 😱😬
I still miss Gavin Stone. 😢

Snell #1
Burnes #2
Fried #3
Love Daniel’s comments….however, I would probably take Burnes over Snell and Fried.
If we don’t get Sasaki, it would be crappy, but the Dodgers will survive
Burnes, Snell or Fried. Whoever wants to be a Dodger the most should be signed.
Well that is obviously Fried.
Gonsolin and May will be the true wild cards, in terms of how they perform.
May is overrated !
In terms of health

That bullpen formula will be the future from now on.
Andrew has been scouting Roki himself in japan for some time now. Hope that rubbed off on Sasaski!
