During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of RUclips!

I honestly never knew the Avalanche could do that pickup truck conversion thing...pretty cool!
Oh yeah, a lot of people don't, it's so versatile!
***** MAN I LOVE THE SOUND AT THE BEGINNING!
zachmamaw1 Yes sir!
*****
I remember watching the first commercial when this vehicle debuted in 2002. Got change for a dollar is what it was called and it was funny as well
Man..... I've been waiting 11 years for this review, now I have decided... I WANT ONE...!
The mid-gate can be opened two different ways. The first way as shown in the video. The second way is you can leave the window in and just open the mid-gate. The locking mechanisms used to lock the window after it is pulled out also release the top portion of the mid-gate so that the window doesn't fall out when you open the gate. You can have the covers and window still on and crawl inside with a sleeping bag and still feel secure.
Kind of a easy camper if you will.
I love this generation of Avalanche, it had a rugged design for when you actually needed to use it as a truck with plentiful lining, nice big non-colored plastic bumpers for when you bump into something and not have to worry about paying a fortune to re-paint or damaged body panels unlike the so called "bumpers" we have now a days that don't do much.
P😊
My dad gave my his Avalanche when I was starting university and I kept it into my graduate years, selling it when it was 16 years old, for the full book value. My sister and I used it for car camping in the mountains, long before overlanding was term, or a thing lol. It was stupid reliable and was the best (non Toyota) 4x4 I have ever owned. I am buying one purely for nostalgia!
Have you gotten around to buying one yet
I've always been a Ford man and still very much am to this day, but I gotta give credit where it's due, The Avalanche is one of the most comfortable trucks I've ever been behind the wheel of. Closest thing I've felt to the way the old boats of the 70's road on the highway.
what a gorgeous avalanche you got. man you let me feel so bad about mine it ran almost 500k but I still in love with it
Are they really that good!?
Brian Avila yes, yes they are
It's nice to see he has started reviewing the old cars like he used to. Brilliant video as usual Kyle. Keep up the good work.
Just got me a 2003, really helped i had no ideal how to take out the rear panels & how to do the window.
Great info!!!
I know this comment is 3 years old, but how do you like your 2003 Avalanche?! I'm looking to get one
@@TomTomTom87 get one. It really is good.
Ya boi just picked up an 04 base avalanche and i love it more than anything I've ever owned
This has been one of the most understandable and informational videos ive seen in general 🤷🏼♂️
And by far the the best one on yt in regards to the avalanche 🤷🏼♂️💪💪💯
Really nice looking truck for an 2003..
I love that your reviews are getting more and more thoroughly, and that you are reviewing all sort of cars, not only new and fancy ones!
Always keep the variety up and trying to make the videos better :)
My favorite gauge cluster from the Chevrolet Tahoe,Suburban,Silverado,GMC Yukon SLT,SLE,Denali, and the Sierra Crew Cab, Extended Cab,SLE,SLT, and the Denali.
My parents have an 03, we have driven it when 4 people 600+ miles for years, its a great vehicle. We had a problem with it when we first had it, and the dealership here eventually thought we were pulling there leg. Fortunately when we went on vacation in Michigan that dealership actually found the problem. The power when we first got it was off, the plant who assembled it gave it the wrong foot pedal, it had the dieasal foot pedal and not the regular unleaded pedal, which made the power of the engine suffer.
Wow, that's quite interesting, no issues from this one so far.
*****
It has the current gas pedal =) lol
***** I was thinking that your older avalanche vids were very good but could be updated and this was just the ticket! Thank you so much for your amazing videos. My dad owns a 2002 chevy avalanche NORTH FACE EDITION that is just amazing! It has a lot of rust because of being in NY for a couple of years and it is very expensive to fix the rocker panels and the rear quarter panels. Watched your video about the north face one and that is a very nice paint color! really wish ours was the green, ours is just the black. Also, watched the sport trac one and I own one of those. Very good little trucks! I love the SUT (sport utility trucks). I have not seen a video on the Subaru baja from you yet (suggestion). There seems to be an issue with the mid gate and the covers that tends to leak. Do you have any issues with yours? Yours looked so nice that I doubt that you have any issue with water leakage. But thanks for you amazing videos!
Nice truck, I always thought the Avalanche was an ugly impractical truck due to the side panels and its small bed, but your video has made me see otherwise. Avalanche is now on my top list next the next time I need to buy a car lol.
Glad to hear it!!
@@saabkyle04 avalanche was my early childhood pickup along with a chevy blazer and a chevy uplander
@@fakejeepman06 I think he sold it a few years back. Said he didn't need a big truck anymore
Too bad these types of vehicles aren't being made anymore, First the Ford Explorer Sport Trac, then the Avalanche & now the Honda Ridgeline. My dad drives a 2003 Sport Trac & it's a very cool design. Has almost 250k miles & still running strong!
Kyle you can replace that missing rubber stop inside your fuel door at any GM dealer. You can also order and replace the driver seat cushion cover (leather) and have any competent upholstery shop replace it (make sure to order it with the seat heater if yours is so equipped).
What brand of brush guard do you have on your truck? Very nice!
We ordered our '04 Chevy Avalanche in December of '03 and still enjoy driving this vehicle today.
If you ever hear a popping sound when turning into a driveway, it's the body mounts. Your dealer can replace the offending one if you can isolate which area the sound is coming from. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have ours.
We love these trucks. We have a black 2002 Z71 Avalanche that has 120k miles on it. Still runs and looks great. Also had a sunset orange 2008 Avalanche. To top of the lust cars my daily driver is a 2011 Charger RT Max. Great vehicles. Keep up the good work kyle!
Nice avalanche!! I want one like this in black (when I'm older)
I'm older I want one now! 😄
very cool, and for the massive blind spots and backing that thing up, no need to worry the cladding is there to protect that beast. I have an 02 the same color and a Z71, love it!!
i never liked the earlier avalanche's i don't like the plastic panels on the lower sides, but man this one is clean, it must be a challenge keeping all those cars spotless
I hope they bring Avalanches back! They are such a great car!
*truck*
this sounds better than any sports car
Nice truck Kyle! It looks like you take good care of it. Low miles as well!
2006 Chevrolet Avalanche LT Z71 (5.3L V8) Start Up Exhaust & In Depth Review
Awesome video Kyle, I have a 2003 Z66 Arrival Blue and it is equally unstoppable!
Loving the exterior cosmetics. Loved the engine bay even more. Beautiful truck Kyle!
my dad recently got one, its a 2005 with 230,000 miles and I absolutely love that truck!! such a nice truck to drive and so comfortable, it needs new shocks and a radio but other that that it's a perfect truck
it's really a sub because the cab body and the bed body are attached
SUV not sub
Hey man, very good video! Few units of Avalanche were imported into my country, what a great truck! I love it. Greetings from Argentina.
Hey Kyle! Beautiful Avalanche and nice review. What brand of exhaust do you have on this?
Flo
I really love the look of the newer ones. I somewhat liked the look of these when they were new, but it never really grew on me. Can't deny it's versatility though.
I remember my grandpa wanted one of these Avalanches back in 2003-2004 about. I suppose he didn't buy one because the gas mileage was bad (he really wanted a F-250/F-350/Silverado HD/Ram HD but didn't like the cost despite the fact he could have anything he wanted). This one is in awesome shape, Kyle.
Love the 5.3 and Flowmaster duals but I’ve never been a fan of the Avalanche’s appearance. I think the slick-side style (without body hardware) looks a lot better.
This is honestly a pretty cool design.
I'm so grateful that you take the time to review cars the average person can afford. The Aston Martins and Bentleys are great but these reviews keep me coming back.
I will ALWAYS have variety on this channel, a mix of everything for everyone :)
Another excellent video, thanks! Nice find in great shape-congrats! Those seeking the midgate overview: 22:15
Its a absolute beast with the 8.1L though
Great job on the video, really well done. I have a nice 2005 1500 without the cladding, it is a little more plain but still performs great ;) I really like it.
What a sweet ride. Just got my 2003 a month ago. So far I love it.
I kind of call it the perfect "city truck" easy to drive around and yet not hard to park.
And not gonna haul much plywood anyway.
How is your 2003 Avalanche Fred? I have a n 03 Z66 Sunset Orange 130,000 miles
Without even driving it u just know this thing has that get up an go lol nothing like a clean gmt800 truck
my uncle had a black 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ with a reverse camera and a remote start and it got hit by a deer
Dude! I hope you doing Vehicles reviews as a job Profession because this review was great.
My dream truck is a Ram SRT-10. But this is definitely number 2 on my list. Oddly intriguing
Hmm this truck is surprisingly well-equipped for an '03 GM product. Well, anyway, it's great to see you back in the office, Kyle!
My dad had a black one and then after that he had a rusty orange one.
Damn Kyle that thing is mint. What did you give for it? Also, I find it quite interesting that it took GM over 10 years to finally incorporate the bumper steps into their full size trucks.
My mom's friend has a sunset orange metallic 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, still has it, he passed away now, his son now has it, and he is taking care of that truck for my mom's friend.
i used to own a 2003 z71 avalanche and honestly, everything about this vehicle is amazing, from control, power & how helpful it is coming from the huge truck bed, yet the only problem i had with it is the fact that it consumes alot of gasoline!
One of my favorite Trucks in general.
Your videos are amazing! So glad I found your channel (:
I love the avalanche I don't care what anyone says that is a true American truck
That was THE single best intro. I’m OCD, this satisfies that
I'm a big GM fan, but never dug the Avy. So I own my extended cab sierra and my GMC Yukon! Love them both!
My grandparents have one which my grandfather drove. It never saw winter and when it did it was in florida during those times. Its an 02 Orange Z71 w/67k miles and since my grandfather passed it just sits in their garage, I wish I could afford to drive it.
Wow, with that mileage, it's worth holding on to!
I'm certainly gonna try!
My great-grandpa had one of these. It didn't sound NEARLY as good, though.
A lot of after market goodies under the hood! Great vid Kyle and great car!
BTW the exhaust sounds like straight pipe lol
looking forward to getting me an Avalanche. this video just sealed the deal.
Very detailed and informative video!!
This thing is MINT, Kyle. Nice!
It's too bad my dad hated these vehicles, he had the exact problem this vehicle was made for, a SUV that can be used as a truck. Like literally this vehicle was perfect for him.
My goal this year and next year its to save my work bonus to buy this truck 🚗i love ur video so much, its so professional, Thank u so much for sharing, my question is, How much it cost brand new ?
atila540 have to get it used no new models
Can someone tell me about the reliability of these trucks I dude is selling one for a decent price with 156k miles on it but I have never owned or driven a chevy. The dude says it belonged to his grandfather and he was the only owner. Please give me some advice thanks
i HATE pickup trucks, but honestly this is the only one i would actuallu buy. it just looks better for some reason
Hate pick up trucks really:/ why
C4LLOFDUTY FOR_LIF3 YOU hate pick ups why? you must not be a home owner
Nice truck. I just bought a '03 Impala with 80,000 miles.
NICE 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71 Start Up, Custom Exhaust, Test Drive, and In Depth Review
Absolutely outstanding review!!! PLEASE tell me what custom exhaust you put on it!! It sounds so bad ass! And what it cost.
One of my favorites Kyle
I've actually been looking for a pickup and I'm thinking of a Silverado Z71 off-road package I might consider myself getting an avalanche Z71 thank you for the video Kyle keep up the good work
Kyle, will you have any ferrari and porsche videos coming up very soon? Thanks. :)
Where can I find this exhaust???
Chevrolet likes to advertise the tailgate step on their Silverado truck as innovative and stuff, but it's been on the Avalanche since more than a decade ago!
Great truck! Not a big fan of the fire engine red. But I love the concept of the truck. The 5.3 engine, the interior. The 2012 Black Diamonds are cool and a nice way to end the truck!
I have a 2010 Avalanche Z71
That sounds absolutely awesome. This in on par with that Fairlane you had.
Chevrolet Avalanche Challenge! 2.0: Comparison between the Chevrolet Corvette (faster car) and the Avalanche (Pickup truck)
Kyle, I really like your truck and sound of it that you installed in your truck.
The thing that really messes with me on these trucks is that the headlights are flipped from a GMT800 pickup truck. The indicator/DRL is on top, and the high/low beams on the bottom. The non-plastic clad version has standard headlights, though. Interesting.
You should have also showed how the midgate goes down WITH the rear window still in place.
OMG I have the exact same sound and cold air intake, mines a charcoal 2005!just got it and I love it to death! Will make a video!
My wife loves this truck. Ima get her one hopefully God bless.
Is that the 8.1?
Love the truck Kyle! I would really love to buy one once I'm out of college. Good review!
man i love your exaust kyle! keep up the great work!!
wow! thats a very clean truck!!
-greetings from the philippines!
Wow!.....Such Chevrolet. Much America! So Freedom
'Murica!!!
***** one of your best videos in my opinion, but I am pretty biased towards Chevrolet. Keep it Up!
Kevin Preciate that buddy!
Amazing video! I would want that truck so badly. It sounds so badass!
Just bought one. January 26, 2024. I think I got a steal deal @ $3200
has Christal ever driven this thing? She doesn't strike me as a truck person haha
Where can I get one in that condition?!
Had a black Avalanche earlier, best car i've ever had... 😄👌
oh my god this car is so clean!
Chevrolet Avalanche The Best Truck In The World
Love the video I'm on the fence about buying one of these? This was very helpful thank you.
if i had this i would rip that push bar right off
That truck is just amazing
Chris
The avalanche was my fave Chevy, and besides the corvette, the only one I liked. Shame they cut it from the lineup
doing perfect like always saab i love your review very informative and every detail of it keep it up bro
The truck sounds very nice if never think a z71 sounds lik tht
Just picked up a 2002 with only 40k on it sprucing it up now
Now what exhaust is that
