I would up to class II. The only reason I wouldn't say any higher is that it does not have a spray deck or self-bailing floor. I wouldn't want to take on too much water and the river be too wild to stop and dump it. The recon and xpd have the same tough material so you are good there.
Running into the stream in this way is nonsense. You don't have good speed and stream pretty strong. The correct entrance into the stream is with your tip to upstream.

Thanks for the tip! Packrafts are not as maneuverable as what you paddle.
