I like Omatsuri just fine but it's not my favorite, because it's more interested in being its own arthouse thing and not, y'know, a One Piece movie. I mean, I can't imagine the Straw Hats having relationship issues over stuff we know they brush off in other contexts. It feels like a Hosoda vehicle but with OP characters pasted in.
Movie 6 is definitely a great one to watch and one of my favorites. However, for me personally, it has to be Movie 4. It's the first One Piece movie that feels like it really expands the scenery and world beyond "random jungle/island." The entire portion of the movie before the race begins when they are just hanging out in the Pirate area felt so huge and it was so surreal to see a place that was meant for JUST pirates; which hadn't happened when this came out as they hadn't reached Jaya yet." Also, like GLR said, having an actual fight take place entirely at sea is so rare for One Piece, but to have it do so right next to a giant hurricane made for INSANE tension that could be physically felt. #4 will always be my favorite for these reasons.
movie 6 is my favourite because of how unique it is, its so cool that a respected director like mamoru hosoda was involved with a shonen, definetely recommend any of his films(the girl who leapt through time, summer wars, wolf children, the boy and the beast) they are up there with ghibli
We shouldn't also forget the writer, Masahiro Ito, who did the creature design for the early Silent Hill games and worked as an art director for Silent Hill 2. I think, he really did contributed to the dark atmosphere of movie 6.
I really don't know why but I watched Gold before I even started One Piece, but I enjoyed it and that is one of the main reasons I started One Piece, and because I kinda forgot about what happened in the movie, I really didn't even spoil myself.
Film Gold is a movie I'd show to someone who hasn't seen One Piece and wants to get into it. It's got a cool setting, good villain and side characters and it has the vibe of going through an entire arc

My only problem for one piece stampede was that except for luffy and usopp, it didn't feature the other straw hats so much. But that being said it was an action packed movie and we did get a reunion of sorts with all the characters that we loved over the 20 years. Hopefully the next movie would be more straw hat centric.
The 6th film is too me the best for being so unique and dark. Never before had one piece gotten so dark and it was all done extremely well. I loved it and have never really gotten that feeling from anything else One Piece sense.

9:00. For some reason this one clothing style is probably my favorite I’ve seen yet. The strawhats in black clothes with guns appeal to me for some reason.
I have seen the 3D film, come on man it's not so bad! The team fight in the end is pretty good, as we rarely see the whole crew fighting together. Also, the story about the old pirate and his dog actually got me, it was pretty emotional.
I can confirm that i did not liked One Piece Stampede watching it alone, but i really liked in my friend house when i was drunk af with my friends, holy shit that was awesome xD
@@rishabhanand4973 luckily, I have a friend who watches One Piece, but unfortunately he watched Stampede in cinemas when I wasn't a One Piece fan yet. When Red comes out, we'll watch it together
I watched the last film with a group of others at a convention too and have to agree with your commentary. Cheering with everyone as each of the characters were revealed on screen was great
Shuraya from movie 4 reminded me of Law, he lost his sister in an accident that inevitably killed everyone else in the town, but in this case his sister and the person who saved her survived. It made me come up with a theory: What if this was foreshadowing that Lammy(Law'sysister) was alive some how. We never saw her die on screen and in one piece, if there's no body, chances are they're alive somewhere. I know the movie isn't cannon and Law and Shuraya are far from connected story wise, but you must admit that the similarities are there, but then again, maybe it's just me
Stampede was by far my favorite movie. Probably because the fights and characters are my favorite aspect of One Piece, and this had everything I wanted from a One Piece movie. Dynamically animated balls-to-the-wall battle sequence and a massive cast of familiar characters.
@Dylan Ogega Most people seem to only care about art and animation quality, how much flashy shit happens, and how many admirals/supernovas/Roger era pirates appear
Yeah. We can obviously feel the touch of Oda's One Piece style. The moment when SHP crew came to a whole new mysterious island, landed separately, the battle development, alternative heroine, and more.
@Dylan Ogega What else is Nami good for? Lol If they're not out at sea using her navigation skills she's a liability who does next to nothing but complain. I'm toward the end of Whole Cake in the manga right now and Luffy has to tell her to shut the hell up she's so bad. I'm just thinking, "FINALLY someone said it!" Haha

I'm just gonna throw some random opinions here. 1)Rocks D. Xebec had some of the most powerful characters in his crew.. could it possibly be that the doctor of his crew was none other than Dr.vegapunk 2)could rocks be still alive and his currently at the pinnacle of world government ruling over the entire world.. and that's why the 5 elders erased everything about him. Just a random thought 😅
@@schwarzerritter5724 we don’t know what kind of doctor Vegapunk is. We know nothing about him. It’s not unreasonable to suggest that he started out as a standard ship doctor and became something greater as his knowledge expanded
A weird trend about OP movies that I noticed is that they almost always include insanely big level events, like some *serious* shit that that would impact the whole section of the sea that it took place in. Yet since it isn't canon, no one even mentions it afterward lmao.
I remember watching movie6 as a kid... And only thing I remember about it was that it traumatized me so much that it gives me chills whenever I see that art style they used in that movie. Something about that movie actually spooked me alot. I think the anis loby arc has that art style too.
Personally, I loved how you glazed over the fact that Movie 3 could not possibly take place within One Piece canon (less so than the rest of the films) due to neither Vivi nor Robin appearing in the film, yet it having featured Chopper in the (semi-)titular role xD
I watched Stampede with a group of friends last week and I was the only one who has any experience with One Piece and we had a blast. I was geeking out on the couch while everyone else was like, “What the fuck is happening”
@@blyzer7373, thanks for telling me to watch the even numbered One Piece films until I get to the Stampede film because I plan on binge watching all the films after I finish watching the newest Wano episode this weekend.
I really agree with your points about Stampede. The film should just be called as One Piece: Fanservice for the amount of blatant references it has. It should be treated like a sports event or match as if you're watching world cup or the Olympics cause that's what it is.
I love the fact that Oda stepped in and gave us canon One Piece movies. I’ve only seen Strong World Z Gold and Stampede cause their the only canon movies and in English but I might have to check out that movie 6.
I call them pseudo canon, they take place within the canon featuring characters and motivations from the canon, but are not actually part of the canon with the one exception being film gold as the antagonist is referenced in the anime during impel down, and even that's clearly just an effort to hype the movie up and not actually tie the events into the main canon.
I refuse to accept Douglas Bullet as canon, however, Stampede reveals some things that are canon. Episode/Chapter 0 is definitely canon but the movie itself is not canon as it doesn't fit the timeline of the main story. Z and Gold aren't canon to the One Piece story but since they are written/supervised by Oda, I guess it's "canonic filler".
none of the movies are canon, only the character Shiki is canon but the events of Strong World are not. Film Gold and Stampede also can't be canon either considering that they take place in an alternate universe where all of the straw hats were together after the events of Dressrosa and Whole Cake Island respectively.
I really liked movie 6, the different art style plus dark plot twist are a good escape from the main theme of one piece without being too displaced. I enjoy that "summer wars" style with flat colours and really distorced animation (seems like the art director worked with evangelion too).
if only this was made after Red came out that was the one that got me into one piece and it also gives you that same "one piece" feel without needing to know everything about the series already
I'm currently trying to make a marathon of all One Piece movies excluding Straw Hat chase. I've watched Gold and Stampede, and soon I'll watch Dead End Adventure, Strong World and Z. I honestly love the non-canonic aura of OP movies, and I love their villains. I also thought about the bounties of the villains of Gold and Stampede Gild Tesoro: 837.000.000 (837 million belies) Douglas Bullet: 3.200.000.000 (3 billion, 200 million belies)
Film 6 has such a fantastic art style. I see it and instantly know who directed it. Same as Digimon the Movie, Summer Wars and The Boy and the Beast. Love it.
I've literally never met a single soul on this planet, whether irl or on the internet, that is an actual fan of *One piece 3D Mugiwa chase* Seems I'm forever doomed to be alone 😔
@@undeadcrow76 Maybe it's because I first watched it as a kid, and the fact that it was one of my first experiences with One piece, I didn't really go into it expecting any good plot or story. I just watched it hoping for some awesome action and visuals, and it delivered. Especially that scene where Zoro flexed on some marines and freed Luffy from the cage. And I think it made very good use of the dynamic angles you get with 3D animations by focusing on Luffy's aerial acrobatics and having them fight Giants. I JUST REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE! Even if it's just my inner 12 year old.
We were so close to just saying "only watch the even numbered movies". Also I wish the whole series had Baron's Omatsuri's art style. It works so much better with a lot of One Piece's aesthetic.
6th One Piece movie was Mamoru Hosoda's final toei animation film to direct and after that he resigned and joined madhosue that he would later establish his own, Studio chizu.
The second movie got me a bit becues he talks about how all the iconic stuff gets stolen like Zoro's swords, Luffy's hat and Sanji's shoes. Wait Sanji's shoes wtf Sanji did you not have more than one pair of shoes!?!
the alabasta movie was my first interaction with One Piece, it was at the Big Lots store and my dad bought it for my sister and me when we were kids. Having watched One Piece now I can say it's actually pretty solid, especially as a stand alone since I watched it knowing almost nothing and still enjoyed it well into my middle school years. But it definitely leaves out a lot!
Really nice. I found myself surprised to agree with most of the opinions, with the sole exception of the 3D Movie. I watched it twice (like most other OP movies) and it was a refreshing, fun, and endearingly sweet experience. The Straw Hats' dynamics were a delight, like always. The action was fast-paced, exciting to watch, and gave a sense of freedom, especially with Luffy's agile swings all over the ships and above the sea, during the chase scene. I felt giddy having the camera fly alongside him. Also, the background characters warmed my heart and made me smile, a bit teary, and their beautiful friendship - which is something I often find in One Piece's main story, as it's always full of such tender, heartfelt moments and examples of nakamaship, just as for these two. So, I don't get the general lack of affection for this movie. I would recommend giving it a try - not with high expectations, but to simply experience something short yet fun, sweet and joyful.

They didn't even throw Bonclay but they gave us Wapol what a shame
@@carolinelutz397 Bon clay is in prison lol. I know the story is like in an alternate universe but it shouldnt stretch too far from the original
9:00. For some reason this one clothing style is probably my favorite I’ve seen yet. The strawhats in black clothes with guns appeal to me for some reason.
It's after Strong World, Oda start to partake in storyboarding and try to canonize with the main storyline.
we had no idea how big film red was gonna be lol
I feel like most of the one piece films are like animation fan service in a good way......
Stampede was. Most of the new ones were pretty good stories.
That one 3D film like
The last 4 which 95% of people here only care about, yeah. The earlier movies are a little more than that, while having lower budgets.
Just what I was looking for. Was thinking of watching the One Piece movies, but I'm overwhelmed. This was helpful!
I have seen the 3D film, come on man it's not so bad! The team fight in the end is pretty good, as we rarely see the whole crew fighting together. Also, the story about the old pirate and his dog actually got me, it was pretty emotional.
Same. I fought it was alright
I can confirm that i did not liked One Piece Stampede watching it alone, but i really liked in my friend house when i was drunk af with my friends, holy shit that was awesome xD
unfortunately for me, i don't have any friends who watch one piece. even my friends who like anime haven't seen/read one piece yet.

Stampede is a nonstop celebration of characters and action. My fav by far

Interesting! i dont know why i dont Like it this much...
I think bullet was super boring compare to z
I prefer strong, movie 6 and Film z!:)
stampede was my first one-piece experience and it was what got me to watch
One Piece: Strong World was definitely top 1.
Strong World is king of One Piece filler for me
100 percent best movie by far
@Dylan Ogega Most people seem to only care about art and animation quality, how much flashy shit happens, and how many admirals/supernovas/Roger era pirates appear
Yeah. We can obviously feel the touch of Oda's One Piece style. The moment when SHP crew came to a whole new mysterious island, landed separately, the battle development, alternative heroine, and more.
@Dylan Ogega
What else is Nami good for? Lol
If they're not out at sea using her navigation skills she's a liability who does next to nothing but complain. I'm toward the end of Whole Cake in the manga right now and Luffy has to tell her to shut the hell up she's so bad. I'm just thinking, "FINALLY someone said it!" Haha

Yup
oh shit your right
Yea during that scene which is made to look like a yakuza clash the strawhats all come in wearing suits and wielding guns. Zoros has three barrels
There where so many targets, Luffy was going to hit someone, no matter what direction he aimed.
I'm just gonna throw some random opinions here.
1)Rocks D. Xebec had some of the most powerful characters in his crew.. could it possibly be that the doctor of his crew was none other than Dr.vegapunk
2)could rocks be still alive and his currently at the pinnacle of world government ruling over the entire world.. and that's why the 5 elders erased everything about him.
Just a random thought 😅
ruclips.net/video/YCA2qopUB4g/видео.html
No
1) Vegapunk is not that kind of doctor.
2) You believe Rocks is Im?
@@schwarzerritter5724 we don’t know what kind of doctor Vegapunk is. We know nothing about him. It’s not unreasonable to suggest that he started out as a standard ship doctor and became something greater as his knowledge expanded
@@Cloneman-ic9rx Franky was in Vegapunk's old labs, and we have met scientists who worked with him.
A weird trend about OP movies that I noticed is that they almost always include insanely big level events, like some *serious* shit that that would impact the whole section of the sea that it took place in. Yet since it isn't canon, no one even mentions it afterward lmao.
Stampede is the closest One Piece will ever get to Precure All Stars movies from Toei xD
ruclips.net/video/YCA2qopUB4g/видео.html
Tl;DR: Watch the even numbered ones, and you're good.
Exactly 😂
Lmfao
Until you hit Strong World, then just watch everything.
@@blyzer7373 yep
@@blyzer7373, thanks for telling me to watch the even numbered One Piece films until I get to the Stampede film because I plan on binge watching all the films after I finish watching the newest Wano episode this weekend.
I really agree with your points about Stampede. The film should just be called as One Piece: Fanservice for the amount of blatant references it has. It should be treated like a sports event or match as if you're watching world cup or the Olympics cause that's what it is.
One piece stampede in my opinion was top tier of one piece movies or anime movies and the ending song GONG hit different i love it so much
*GLR:* One Piece isn’t the most friendliest of franchises to leap into because there are 14 movies
*Detective Conan:* laughs in 20+ movies
I love the fact that Oda stepped in and gave us canon One Piece movies. I’ve only seen Strong World Z Gold and Stampede cause their the only canon movies and in English but I might have to check out that movie 6.
I call them pseudo canon, they take place within the canon featuring characters and motivations from the canon, but are not actually part of the canon with the one exception being film gold as the antagonist is referenced in the anime during impel down, and even that's clearly just an effort to hype the movie up and not actually tie the events into the main canon.
Honestly I only really considered Strong World as kind-of canon since Chapter 0 is canon and provides backstory for Shiki.
Pretty sure those movies aren’t canon
none of the movies are canon, only the character Shiki is canon but the events of Strong World are not. Film Gold and Stampede also can't be canon either considering that they take place in an alternate universe where all of the straw hats were together after the events of Dressrosa and Whole Cake Island respectively.
I watched Stampede with my brother and we had a blast watching it, the way you described this one was perfect I think
Stampede stole my heart fr.. It literally is my top1 film
I remember how hyped my friends and I were for Strong World, solely from the shot of the Straw Hats walking down the hall decked out like Mafiosos
I really liked movie 6, the different art style plus dark plot twist are a good escape from the main theme of one piece without being too displaced. I enjoy that "summer wars" style with flat colours and really distorced animation (seems like the art director worked with evangelion too).
if only this was made after Red came out
that was the one that got me into one piece and it also gives you that same "one piece" feel without needing to know everything about the series already
Another thing I really liked about Dead-end adventure is the fact that the notion of haki is implicitly introduced in that movie
The main antagonist of One Piece: The Movie is a freaking beyblade.
Might do a movie marathon and watch them all, even the bad ones. Been wanting to watch some for a while and never got around to it
That’s what I’m doing now
11:27 didn’t stampede have pretty much around 800 episodes of set up over like 20 years to

You .... You have the exact same opinion of the movies as I do .... every single one.

The more Zoro the more I like 😂

The baron movie has one of my most fave climaxes of OP overall.
I'm currently trying to make a marathon of all One Piece movies excluding Straw Hat chase. I've watched Gold and Stampede, and soon I'll watch Dead End Adventure, Strong World and Z. I honestly love the non-canonic aura of OP movies, and I love their villains. I also thought about the bounties of the villains of Gold and Stampede

Maybe it's because I first watched it as a kid, and the fact that it was one of my first experiences with One piece, I didn't really go into it expecting any good plot or story.
It is now my turn to review the review you've made with a similarly-complex rating system:
- Agreed
- Disagreed
For all 14 movies : Agreed.
6th One Piece movie was Mamoru Hosoda's final toei animation film to direct and after that he resigned and joined madhosue that he would later establish his own, Studio chizu.
Can someone list what movies he said were good or not? I've already forgotten
The second movie got me a bit becues he talks about how all the iconic stuff gets stolen like Zoro's swords, Luffy's hat and Sanji's shoes. Wait Sanji's shoes wtf Sanji did you not have more than one pair of shoes!?!
Note for myself: Dead end adventure, secret Island, Bloom in the winter, Miracle Sakura, Strong World, Z, Gold
"The pirate king of youtube" makes ash's "pokemon master" title easy to understand
I don’t know why but it really bothers me looking at those mirrored scenes.
the alabasta movie was my first interaction with One Piece, it was at the Big Lots store and my dad bought it for my sister and me when we were kids. Having watched One Piece now I can say it's actually pretty solid, especially as a stand alone since I watched it knowing almost nothing and still enjoyed it well into my middle school years. But it definitely leaves out a lot!
Where can I watch these movies though
Don't forget!
Bungee gum has the properties of both, rubber and gum.
