I agree it’s great! I was so confused when I read your comment because I usually do add that to the chilli! (To be honest this is my wife’s chilli recipe) I went back to look at the video and just realized I forgot to type that one in! Whoops. Haha you’ve provided me proof my wife doesn’t watch any of my videos! 😂 Fantastic suggestion! I also left out Cayenne. She puts in a tiny bit for some heat. Thank you for the continued support!
Good to hear you've already discovered smoked paprika. My husband and I agree that our camp cooking can use a bit of improvement based on what you manage to cook!
@@lynetteswinburn5408 haha I just try to cook things I make at home. It’s always a fun challenge trying to make the same meals with minimal camp cooking gear!
Hello everyone! Being the RUclips novice that I am, I originally created my channel using my personal email account and changed the name to Going Solo. Nevertheless, I switched it to another account a couple months ago so I could regain my personal Gmail account with my name. As a result, I realize all of my previous responses to comments have been deleted across the platform. I just wanted to say thank you again to all of you who have watched, commented or liked any of my videos! For those of you who would like to see my response to a question that is no longer there, please let me know and I will be happy to answer any questions again. Thanks for your support!
I have just discovered your videos. I love them all. They're so captivating no matter the weather. Have you ever encountered anyone walking around your tent when you're inside though? It must feel worrying when you're alone there are many weirdos out there.
Really happy you are enjoying the videos! Most of the places I go are pretty secluded and I don’t normally see many people but if anyone else happens to be out there, they would most likely be doing the same thing I am. The only time I’ve ever worried about people was back in the states. I’ve camped in a few places where I’ve seen some strange behavior. Never had any issues though. Appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB
Love this set up. These lavvus are hard to come by now so will settle for a hot tent when I can afford one.. just have to watch your channel in the mean time :)
Your simmer mode was a good idea. Have you ever tried frying an egg in simmer mode? Seems like a better idea than direct heat. Thanks for the video. 👍🙂🏕️🍳
The simmer mode works really well. This stove has so many ways to control the heat which is why I keep coming back to it instead of getting a titanium stove. I probably will at some point though, just for backpacking! Haven’t tried an egg yet in that configuration.
UST Tarp 2.0. I believe I purchased it on Amazon. It’s a few years old and the tie out points are of terrible quality but it works nicely as ground tarp. It’s kept me dry and helps to reflect some heat back. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Depends on what type of wood I can find in the forester I am in. Ideally with a decent sized piece of hardwood and the stove damper about 1/4 open, it will last about an hour or more. If I want to keep the stove going all night I have to wake up every 2 hrs usually. Thanks for watching!
This is a 2. I believe there is only a few inches difference in the 2 and 3. I am 5’10’’ and fit comfortably in the 2. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
No I didn’t notice any rain coming in at all. The canvas material did get saturated on the bottom half of the teepee on the side I was sleeping. However, I had plenty of room to sleep without touching the material and it never dripped down on me. The twigs worked well in the arm hole but I only used them because I actually forgot the tent protector that goes over the pipe. I wouldn’t recommend it but I knew it would be raining all night so I risked it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great weekend!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors Great video, thanks. I just bought a 3F UL stainless folding stove on AliExpress to use in my Lavvu. At 2.5Kg and £150 I thought it was worth a punt.
Great video its nice to see that you've focused alot on the stove, there ain't many videos on the gstove, I've one question about the lavvu, have you waterproofed it or is it naturally waterproof, I've a size 2 you see but haven't yet tried it in the rain, many thanks.
I really enjoyed this video. I have the size 3 lavvu and have been toying with the idea of a stove for some time. Its the weight that's holding me back. Was the sleeping pad the nemo tensor?. I have subscribed as this video is right up my street. Atb.
Great video, my friend! Great winter camp! Enjoyed watching, your and bushcraft skills are terrific! And the surrounding nature is amazing. Cheers from Russia, bruv, and welcome to my channel about special Russian bushcraft tips and hacks! Cheers, Yuriy! ✌🙂
A lovely addition to campfire chili is smoked paprika. Love watching your videos, thanks!

Hi! So many planes with very poison. Thanks.
Unfortunately it seems like you can’t find a place anymore where you don’t hear plane noise. Thanks for watching!
Chilled viewing again squire. One comment if I may, use the full blade of your Boreal, let the saw do the work!
Love that stove 👍👍
It’s heavy but makes for a super cozy night!

Great video. Nicely put together and a good setup. Is that a size 2 lavvu? Thanks - Ben
Thanks. Yes, this is a size 2.
Nice
Thanks!
How often do you have to feed the stove? BTW, great video.

Was there any problems with rain coming into the Laavu from the arm hole where the flue was? Was the two twig setup effective?
Thanks for the video.

Which stove is that btw? Was thinking about hot tenting but the folding Pomoly stove is silly money. Cheers
