      She was trying to figure out which answer painted her in a better light, that’s why she flipped after dr Phil said it means she’s a sociopath. But funny thing is, being a sociopath is really not as bad as being able to choose and doing it anyway cause she didn’t care.

    • @bumpasaurus487
      @bumpasaurus487 3 года назад +5

      @Joshua Jason Karl maybe worse behavior wise, but not morally. If you truly can’t control yourself, then it’s not like you’re just choosing to be a bad person, it’s like a mental disease that’s out of their hand.

    • @bumpasaurus487
      @bumpasaurus487 3 года назад +6

      @Joshua Jason Karl kind of like if you put a baby in your bed and he constantly goes to the bathroom cause he can’t control himself, vs a grown potty-trained person who intentionally craps in your bed cause he’s lazy or doesn’t care about you or the consequences. The baby might be the one who goes to the bathroom and ruins your sheets more often behavior wise, but he can’t control himself and isn’t doing it intentionally. Dr Phil calls it an irresistible behavior vs a behavior not resisted. The same reason the law is more lenient on people who are mentally handicapped than people in their right minds, or even the difference between premeditated murder and a in-the-moment passionate killing. When a person actively chooses to do something bad, its worse morally than if they truly can’t control themselves.

    The fact that she chooses 100% of the time to lie about things that gain her pity and charity, is quite telling. She's not lying about being rich or famous, she's lying to get something out of it. Her compulsion is not with lying, it's with taking advantage of people's kindness in order to personally get something out of it.
    Complete psychopath.

      Totally Sociopaths...

    • @kerrijohnstone7588
      @kerrijohnstone7588 3 года назад +17

      This is NOT the definition of “Psychopath”. Psychology researchers generally believe that psychopaths tends to be born - it’s likely a genetic predisposition - while sociopaths tend to be made by their environment. (Which is not to say that psychopaths may not also suffer from some sort of childhood trauma.) Psychopathy might be related to physiological brain differences. Research has shown psychopaths have underdeveloped components of the brain commonly thought to be responsible for emotion regulation and impulse control.
      Psychopaths, in general, have a hard time forming real emotional attachments with others. Instead, they form artificial, shallow relationships designed to be manipulated in a way that most benefits the psychopath. People are seen as pawns to be used to forward the psychopath’s goals. Psychopaths rarely feel guilt regarding any of their behaviors, no matter how much they hurt others.
      But psychopaths can often be seen by others as being charming and trustworthy, holding steady, normal jobs. Some even have families and seemingly-loving relationships with a partner. While they tend to be well-educated, they may also have learned a great deal on their own.
      When a psychopath engages in criminal behavior, they tend to do so in a way that minimizes risk to themselves. They will carefully plan criminal activity to ensure they don’t get caught, having contingency plans in place for every possibility. I learned this in law. TRUE Psychopaths NEVER show remorse or empathy. You have to be VERY careful in defining the difference between being a Psychopath and a Sociopath. She MAY have tendencies of both. Now while she is SMILING (which I did notice) this STILL does not prove (well in a legal sense) the definition of a Psychopath.I HONESTLY believe that she is a SEVERE compulsive liar. My thoughts.
      Pathological Lying. There is a significant difference between pathological lies and white lies. A white lie, or a lie told to avoid hurt or ill-feelings in another person, is a common by-product of many social interactions. You could truthfully tell your friend, for example, that you think his new haircut makes him look ten years older, but you don’t want to make him feel bad, so you instead say it looks great. White lies are told without any ill-intent, and are generally considered to be harmless.
      Pathological lies are continuous, compulsive, complex, and can occur for no apparent reason. This could include creating a completely false personal history, making up a fictional relationship with a celebrity, or claiming to be suffering from a dire illness. When further questioned, your loved one might give quick and detailed responses that only vaguely answer the question. Despite scepticism or frustration from others with the lack of truthfulness, pathological liars often display little concern or guilt about getting found out. Read the second paragraph carefully.
      In some cases, pathological lying is a singular disorder known as pseudologia fantastica, in which the person’s main symptom is the compulsive need to lie about both big and small issues for no clear reason. However, psychiatrists have found that pathological lying is often connected to other mental health conditions, particularly personality disorders. Some common conditions linked to pathological lying include:
      Narcissistic Personality Disorder - the exaggerated sense of self-importance that is a key characteristic of NPD can be manifested in boastful lies about one’s personal accomplishments, social connections, or career achievements.
      Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - pathological lying has been found in some people struggling with OCD as a negative coping mechanism, employed to create affiliative relationships with others or to attempt to cover their OCD symptoms.
      Anxiety Disorders - people struggling with anxiety and fear of rejection may also pathologically lie as a way to try and protect a sensitive psyche.
      Antisocial Personality Disorder - people living with this disorder often display pathological lying as a key symptom, and may use lies to gain status or manipulate others.
      Other factors may also influence the development of pathological lying. For example, childhood trauma can result in the sufferer relying on lies to create a persona that can withstand the negative environment, a habit that can persist into adulthood. Some scientists also believe that different hormone levels, specifically higher levels of testosterone and lower levels of cortisol, may also play into whether a person becomes a pathological liar. This is what I believe she has.

      @@kerrijohnstone7588 wow. I have never learned so much from a RUclips comment. Beautifully said! From what you said, especially that second paragraph, I think she has psychopathic tendencies. But I also don't think she has too much remorse. So I mean, it's confusing. And I think you can have the tendencies of four or five different pathologies and still not have a "set" diagnosis. She's not very remorseful (I don't think she can be!), and she's still lying saying that she can't resist the impulse to lie to gain sympathy and have a scape goat, so she doesn't have to take any responsibility. It's very confusing. But again, I really appreciate your comment and I learned a lot! You must be great at what you do!

    Oh, sociopaths do know empathy. But it's COLD empathy. They know exactly what empathy is supposed to look like, and sound like, they know when it's expected, and they'll FAKE it whenever necessary. They can pull out what they've seen played out in the past, like a clip from a movie, and copy it with no actual feeling. They can cry actual tears (if they remember something sad they can cry for themselves, but not for you).
    Horrible creatures. They just go crashing through people's lives leaving a trail of destruction behind them.

For making that camp counselor help her shower and assist with her feminine hygiene? I really hope she does face charges for that. The poor counselor was obviously disturbed and Sarah’s conduct was completely inappropriate!!! She should face SA charges and should have to register as a SO and face all other related consequences upon her release from prison. 18 months isn’t going to change someone like this. She’s a sociopath. But making her a registered SO and also making her pay for what she did to that counselor will make her life just a little less comfortable when she gets out and make it much more difficult for her to ever be able to victimize anyone else in the future!

    The moment Dr. Phil put the 'sociopath' label on her, she back pedaled because though she doesn't want all the blame/accountability for her actions, she doesn't want be seen like there's something wrong with her because she doesn't like herself and it'd be another thing on the insecurity list. That's what I think.

    some of these episodes shouldn't be on television, but I suppose some people get help from watching them.
    The other side is most of us are trustworthy and trust others but we end up getting hurt by these manipulative people and then we begin to push people away from us.Those we have trusted and confided in turn us into. insensitive, uncaring and untrusting of others.
    So those who cry WOLF, we don't hear them when they really need help.
    Thus we become apathetic

    What is the point of asking a person who lies about literally *everything* whether she finds lying to be an “irresistible impulse or an impulse not resisted”??
    This may be the most laughably idiotic practice of futility I’ve ever seen on television.

Lying about having censer? Having no remorse from that? I lost a parent to cancer and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy its something I never ever want someone to have no matter what. Never lie about this. This woman just wow is honestly the lowest of the low.

    She’s admitting everything and being honest and expressing remorse and acknowledging what she did. How is she a sociopath? Maybe she was lying for attention because she’s lonely and desperate for attention. I get she doesn’t have a lot of emotion or facial expression but maybe that’s just because she’s nervous or just her personality
