    Great Video. I have an issue tho.. After reassembling my iPhone 5 s. I'm having trouble turning it on. The power button does not turn the phone on. So i plugged it into to the charger (just to turn it on) And it shows that the battery is completely dead (empty battery, one red bar) then it turns on (white back round black apple logo) then screen goes black, then it repeats? Battery Dead-Apple Logo-Black Screen. (Prior to the disassemble my battery was at 100%) Whats my issue? Assistance would be much appreciated..

      +Szilágyi Szabolcs +Repairs Universe ; does this affect the home button not given that BNIB clicking feeling, more of a mushy feeling does the home button cover is upside down?

    I think you made a little mistake, i'm not sure but to be confirm. On top left hand corner of the motherboard , there is a grounding contact and it should go under the grounding tab that is screwed to the to flange of the casing !

    Following this video there 3 pieces left out, as in they're not shown how or where they go. Had to look up another video.

    I'm fairly certain you missed two washers/small metal pieces. Perhaps mine is a slightly newer version?

    I was trying to take the old sleep button off the hinge bracket to put the new one one but the little metal plate won't come off. How do you take it off to put the new sleep button on the hinge bracket?

      Yeah and how do you make the new button tight like the old button.

    Hi there! I dropped my phone and broke that TINY flexcable (with small "fork") that goes with the powerbutton assembly (2:06 in video). As I need to get a new one I need to know what it's called. Do you know? And what is the function of it? Is it just grounding or?? Hope you can help. I took it ALL apart by now :-) Thanks

      No worries, Your phone will still function without that grounding cable. Do try to get it replaced when you get the chance, however, it is not readily available for sale online.

      Hmmm ....so what does it actually do if phone will work without it? Strange that I cant buy it anywhere.... I'll cut the ends and solder a tiny wire to try fix it. Thanks alot for the reply. Regards Lisbeth

    So I had a question, if the repair place I go to is good is there anything they can't repair? Bc I've been told sometimes they can't repair the motherboard? 😞

    • @Repairsuniverseusa
      @Repairsuniverseusa  7 лет назад

      Depending on the severity of the damage some motherboard damage is unrepairable. Repair shops tend to vary in ability some will only replace components while some will do board level repairs.

      Yeah I'm just hoping they can fix it bc honestly it's like brand new never had a cracked screen, and this all happened bc some lady put a screen protector on my phone with a puddle of liquid then they tried blaming me and I sent my phone to the corporate store and it won't even turn on.

    My iPhone does not power on anymore, help pls

    • @Repairsuniverseusa
      @Repairsuniverseusa  8 лет назад +1

      +dottee671 Recommend replacing your battery. However, see if your PC recognizes the device. Hold the home button while it's connected to your PC and see what the device does. You may be able to restore the unit and it may resolve your issue.

    You seated the motherboard incorrectly. At the very top of the motherboard there is a screw hole that is supposed to slide underneath a bracket, and there is a metal washer under that. The bracket and the washer are supposed to sandwich that top screw hole. You should see a copper square on the motherboard next to this screw hole, one on each side actually. They should have a tiny dot indentation. These dots are from the washer and the bracket pressing into them. :-/
