Back before the PowerStroke and Evans EQ line we all were using Remo PinStripes, Emperors, C.S. Black Dots, Ambassadors; and Evans Rock Glass Hydraulic, Uno 58 1000; and Ludwig Rockers Silver Dot. If someone is going to pit a pillow or something I'm the drum, those regular heads work great. If someone is going to buy a pre muffled head, no need for laundry in the drum.
Interesting thought for sure. I know with the rise of social media and people's opinions, it was very hard for me to get people's advice on certain products unless I tried them $$ 😂 I feel like society today, is too quick to jump into what the norm is doing than say something like "Go ahead dude, experimenting won't hurt" That's my view though but I'm glad I gave this a shot, it really opened my eyes.
You have a very nice, easy flow on drums. I'm a hard hitter myself, but I appreciate your subtle touch. Anyhoo, I think there's a place for Aquarian or something like a Evans Emad, or a very traditional head such as an Emperor. It's good to keep different heads on hand to tailor your kick to the song or what you hear in your head.
Thanks for the kind words, it took me a while to be comfortable with not only my subtle touch but to accept/appreciate it because the norm, for many drummers is to always hit hard.. Cudos to the hard hitters but that life is just not for me lol. Anyways, I agree with you on keeping different heads around to experiment, same reason you'd want to have a bunch of cymbals laying around to choose from, you get. I love doing these experiments though because I learn a lot from simply trying. It was truly amazing to see how the little things affect sound and taste. Both heads are amazing too.

No problem. As I grow as a player, I've deliberately tried to lighten my touch to gain vocabulary. It's a good thing.@@dionsheds
