@@DrewFortune97 PLEASE READ THIS DREW: James Hetfield, the lead singer of Metallica, placed Baroness' Purple album as one of his top 10 moments of 2015. I recommend you listen to Baroness - Chlorine and Wine from that album. YOU WILL LOVE IT. Blessings from California
the Berlin wall had just came down..... this was very new to them and the Russia military didn't know how to handle it....Metallica ...the only band to play all 7 continents ..yes even Antarctica!!
The military thought the crowd were rioting and fighting which is why they were attacking the crowd You also gotta remember this is around the end of the soviet Union which collapsed in 1991 also So tensions would've been pretty high probably
Brian Johnson of AC/DC recently said in an interview that he had to go watch these guys from the side stage to see what the world was on to. Metallic had the #1 album in the U.S. at the time and he just had to see what it was all about. He was blown away....by the crowd and the performance.
"Nikolai, come here. What is this?" "Metallica, komzvoda...." "....Alright Nikolai, I understand. Is irresistible force after all. Drink a shot, straighten your uniform and go about your tasks." "Yes, Komzvoda!"
Should've shown the security guard hitting the guy with the baton at the same time James sings the lyrics "Drink up, shoot in, let the beatings begin."
Жан Агъырджанокъуэ Yeah hard to argue. Slayer then probably Testament, Overkill, Kreator. Metallica is my favourite band, but they aren’t a career thrash band. They released one thrash album and then peppered their following albums with a few thrash songs here and there - which resulted in a more diverse catalogue of work, and more balance on their albums imo.
Metallica- Welcome Home (Sanitarium) (Seattle 1989) Metallica- Blackened (Seattle 1989) Iron Maiden- Infinite Dreams (Studio or Maiden England 88) Iron Maiden- Fear of the Dark (Rock in Rio 2001) Iron Maiden- The Number of the Beast (Hammersmith 1982) I'd request my favorite song by Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name, as well but the 82 live version (which is fantastic) has been done a lot on YT.
If you watch Enter Sandman live Moscow 1991, the military guys were headbanging and enjoying themselves, this is the first part of the gig, that's why they're tense, they're not used to heavy metal, western acts had just been permitted in USSR, actually one of the first metal bands to tour Russia 1989 was Black Sabbath.
Drew, I'd have to say my favorite Metallica live performance is Seattle of 89'. If I were you go check out some of the content from that show. You'll be simply impressed. Not nearly as many people in the crowd but you can feel the atmosphere is just as great!
nice one, always one if my favorite songs.. if you're gonna do more metallica you should check out some if their seattle '89 show, blackened, master of puppets, battery, for whom the bell tolls and many more from that show
At 8:06 when Lars stood up in the break , when he sat back down again to start playing he slammed his finger on the snare rim & it started bleeding bad. … He told about it why it was all bandaged up after the gig, he said he was bleeding all over the snare & cymbols the rest of the song, …. you see one clip at the end when he jumps up heading off to get it bandaged up.
Would you ever react to an entire live concert? If so, please react to Metallica's entire Seattle '89 show. It is very hard to request a song or two from that concert since the entire concert is killer, so just react to the whole damn thing, lol. And I'm not just saying that since I'm from Seattle. ;)
I’ll end up reacting to the whole thing man! But it will likely be in parts - song by song! An hour long concert can make for extremely hard editing lol
This is from a home video -"A year and a half in the life of Metallica part 2". Its a two hour documentary about Metallica's massive 2 year world tour of the gigantic world dominating "Black" album. Featuring some live stuff like this, and brilliant, fascinating, and hilarious at times footage of the band on the road and everyone and everything thats along their way. I had a passing interest in the band at the time, but when a friend lent me said video, I watched it all after school one day and including this insane performance, everything in the video made me a Metallica fan for life. Ill never forget it. It was right before the mock Junior Cert. I was 15,and everytime I see this performance,it reminds me of seeing it for the first time, and being blown away. The mania within the crowd. The choppers circling the place from above, the soldiers batein' into the people cos they dont understand what the fuck is going on. Its like an action scene from a war movie, and its incredible!
Still off on Orion, phonetically it is Or Eye On, the same pronunciation as the constellation of stars Orion (the Hunter). Hope this helped. I enjoy your metal videos, keep them coming!
I know you probably have a metric fuckton of requests but if you could do the latest Jinjer - Ape *Live* video. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. It's one song but I swear it's like 3 songs wrapped into one. SO MANY switch ups! It's fucking killer man. Melts your face off at the beginning. Calms down a bit in the middle & the ending, Tati goes in for the kill. (And yes I copied a little bit of what I said in their video onto here to explain it lol)
Awesome reaction! And yeah, after playing in front of a huge crowd you're very wired for a while (largest I've done was around 9,000 at a couple of fests in Europe) but nothing that a few beers and a nice fling with a hot babe can't take care of :)
Story about the military presence is they were there for security but they did not get the concept of a mosh pit therefore they thought it was a riot breaking out and tried to control it
@Bret Zayger_Michigan It's a good song and Metallica did a good job of covering it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't show a variety of music that Metallica has made/covered.
I’m sure it’s already been requested but you should check out Pantera-Domination live at the same ‘91 venue. Better sound quality and way better guitar player.
You must have big balls to go to Moscow to play in a stadium full of an American band in the midst of political conflicts in both countries at that time, Metallica knew how to do it
Rape, death, authoritarian brutality... all occurred at this concert. Cheers to the military members who joined the crowd and helped celebrate freedom.
I'll never give you a hard time for your pronunciation or w/e. Speak how you speak bud. Americans say o-RI-on but there's nothing wrong with how you say it. I enjoy your reviews.
Not much to react to at the moment bro, I’ve heard all of their music! Might look into doing something fun in the future but I’ve heard their new song as so no point doing a video on it!🥵
Don’t generally care for setting like goals on a video but lets see what you lot can pull off; 500 likes in 24 hours?🧐 GO!🤘🏼🔥
Now you can do DOWN BURY ME IN smoke and have a beatiful day
Gotcha Drew 🤘
I’m gonna do this purely because you guys requesting it are relentless🤣🤣❤️

playermartin286 🤣🤣 Gotchu bro 🇮🇪
True! The uncensored music video version!
You just got to trash a house every time you hear it, fucking amazing song
Drew Fortune you missed them at Slane Castle?
Along with Flogging Molly, the Dropkick Murphys and Steeleye Span.
Oh man you have to react to Battery by Metallica live in Seattle 1989. You'll be blown away by the energy
This is their best version of Harvester of Sorrow.
Metallica - Blackened live at Seattle 89'
Yes
and creeping death
Oh for sure! That one is just bonkers!
And Thing That Should Not Be
Studio version first, otherwise he wont understand anything that's going on
This is one of my favourite Metallica songs. Looking forward to seeing it
Mine too equally with Eye Of The Beholder, To Live Is To Die, The Frayed Ends Of Sanity , Damage Inc, Disposbale Heroes and Ride The Lightning

You also gotta remember this is around the end of the soviet Union which collapsed in 1991 also

James' growl at the beginning both scared the shit out of me and made me feel badass at the same time.

"pulls out his cell phone"
~15 years before camera phones were invented. Lol

Long live the greatest thrash metal band of all time. M E T A L L I C A. Have 50-60 fav songs on my iPod . Enjoy the journey 😀.
That’s quite subjective lol Exodus in their prime is very tough to beat

Metallica Unforgiven - a very different track but superb lyrics and music video
Bro you gotta listen to Leper Masiah tonight! Or sometime soon!
What about a full album reaction of the "... And justice for all" album by Metallica
The *...And Justice For Jason* remix/remaster, not any other version...lol
...And Justice for Jason!
He ain't taking no phone out in 1991 in Russia
people were so far back, that by the time they started to hear the song, it was already over.
This video still gives me chills. You can feel the fucking atmosphere through the screen
Metallica- Welcome Home (Sanitarium) (Seattle 1989)
Metallica- Blackened (Seattle 1989)
Iron Maiden- Infinite Dreams (Studio or Maiden England 88)
Iron Maiden- Fear of the Dark (Rock in Rio 2001)
Iron Maiden- The Number of the Beast (Hammersmith 1982)

See that shit? Did ya see how metal units people. It's great even Russian soldiers cant withstand the power of metal especially when its METALLICA.🤘
Nice to see someone actually paying attention to the comments 👌
I love your reactions. Would you do both of us a favor and react to Metallica- Bleeding Me-Woodstock 1999.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Metallica wherever I may roam
If you liked this one, listen to Welcome Home, it's actually one of my favorites of theirs and incredibly underrated.
The same show that Pantera was at from Moscow Russia Kick ass one it was . 1.6 Million people were their it was a Free Concert.
Eric Gaudet it’s funny how people forget that AC/DC headlined because you can’t see the crowd during their set.
You should definitely react to some modern Metallica. Try the Moth Into Flame music video

David Chandler one day I’ll get it 😂😂 appreciate it dude! Don’t worry, plenty to come!
He's pronouncing it in its latin true form 😝
The greatest band
Tallica boys from 85 to 93 before james went nuts with the booze were the COOLEST BAND ON EARTH. Ferocious, loud, untouchable.
You’ve got a Helluva Lot of Metallica to cover 🤘🤘
It was the Millitary with AK-47’s !!!!!
1.5 Million Fans 👊👊
You grow on me.. lol.. love you more and more!...
Militzia (police) was this concert ca 10.000, military soldiers was 20.000 and miltitary students ca 3.000.

Just right at time when they peek of touring saw them 6c on Black album Your
I read somewhere that during this concert, there was like 200 rapes, 11 deaths, people just beaten into a pulp.
React to metallica fade to black live moscow 1991
Absolute masterpiece performance
Even James was getting anxiety in front on that small country a.k.a. crowd.
More metallica ! Watching from mayo keep it up
Can you please react to “a blackpink guide: trainees to now” to see what they all did predebut and what they individually done outside of blackpink
React to Metallica Bleeding me with the orchestra S&M is the show
If you want something epic by Metallica check out the Outlaw Torn from the 1999 S&M concert
Bret Zayger_Michigan there’s just something about the orchestra that adds that extra layer of epic to it

This "military or some s.." they are miltiary studends and militsia(police) studends. Copter was MI 8 20meters long capacity 16 passanger
Mate they didn't have camera phones back then, great reaction though Metallica at their brutal best
React to Enter Sandman in this show! Amazing!
Great reaction!! Please react to Overkill-Overkill live 2002
In metal terms slow=heavy
6:16 he's smashing the bottles. now guess why.
You need to do some Avenged Sevenfold
Mastodon pretty much any of their songs would be cool but id prefer one not any people really reacted to.
I heard the reason police were bonking people on the head was because they had never heard of a mosh pit and thought they were fighting
I’m sure it’s already been requested but you should check out Pantera-Domination live at the same ‘91 venue. Better sound quality and way better guitar player.
Already did it man, check a few months back
I miss Jason so much...
Plz react to paradise city by guns n roses
"Slow" is not to be misconstrued as being "not heavy". It's just slower. Heavy as fuck though. Back when Metallica was still good.
Closer to 1 million... But still

The Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall just fell so the mil was out in force to ensure public safety as they would say. LOL!!!!
It is slow but heavy
Rape, death, authoritarian brutality... all occurred at this concert.
Cheers to the military members who joined the crowd and helped celebrate freedom.
The Russian kids missed their chance that day. 1.6 million man standing? Easily could have overwhelmed the military by sheer numbers.
