In an interview she was saying how she was struggling to complete a song and so she gave her producer a single line to work off of ("Do you get deja vu when she's with you?"), and they created this song from that single line. The premise of the song is that she's seeing all these things her ex is doing with his new girlfriend, and thinking back on her relationship with him, realizing that he's doing it all again with his new girlfriend. Seeing this, she realizes that her previous relationship wasn't nearly as special to her ex as it was to her.
