I know what everyone’s saying…. However…. As a chemist and outdoorsman…. She has potassium permanganate. It’s used as water purifier and wound sanitizer. It’s the most common chemical compound for wilderness survival. Many people carry it just for water treatment - now you know you can use it for a fire too!

I have used it with glycerine but what is she adding? Sugar?
@@LaurelBaum-x6x yup. Glycerine will react on contact, so is easier especially if high humidity. Sugar needs friction to start it. Sugar won’t generally cause an accidental fire but glycerine will react so readily it can be dangerous.

@@josephg.3370 potassium permanganate is a strong oxidizer and will have exothermic reaction with any reducing agent - the carbon in sugar allows for combustion, and since sugar is a reducing agent, it will react and combust.

@@duncanxort4283 С таким количеством барахла она может взять 2 зажигалки. И пару баллонов с газом для них. Вторую зажигалку можно даже в целофановый пакет обернуть, что бы не промокла в воде, например. Она ещё и огнивом может быть, потому что искрит.

Potassium permanganate will self-ignite with any type of glycerin. If sugar isn’t available, glycerin is available in many soaps or in animal fats. Potassium permanganate can also be used for water purification so it is a great item to have in your bugout bag or camping supplies. For igniting, the crystals (typically purple) need to be ground finely.

It's just an IFAK. Just search that and you'll find several from very affordable to high quality/ extended with a special purpose. All of them have something like kmno4 or iodine to clean wounds
