it would make more sense for him to be an object-yokai, because he's an object (machine in undertale) with a spirit. he would probably be an umbrella, because that's iconic for object-yokais, and alphys would probably build wooden arms and legs for him to use. and plus, object yokais can shapeshift into human form, which wpuld explain his mettaton EX and NEO forms. he's also probably write romance poems, considering that there was no television in feudal japan.

Stories tell of a samurai of great conviction fighting against the cruelty of humanity with a magic spear and unwavering determination. Even in death the warrior made her stand almost as if the world's people refused to let her die and thus became known as the undying warrior.
I want these songs in a 3d samurai theme where you gotta fight these bosses in there home and defeat them in hand to hand or sword to spear combat and still have to decide to spare or kill in the end after the long epic dual
I can imagine if this was a game you see undyne about to try to bring him or to herself, but instead of doing it that way, she then becomes her undying form, to try and defeat the human that stands before her
