I like how theres no weapon being held too, so thats another plus for me as I also broke stereotype of not making chara use the knife in my animation. .
Everyone is going to need artistic licenses with the look, I didn't want to show chara's eye so I just put hair over them all the time and I change a lot on Undyne dark armour set from what's in the game. I always liked that in your short by the way, with the use of the pan and gun as we wouldn't have “the knife”. I umm-ed and arr-ed about adding a book, but I didn't like the look, them pink ballerina shoes though...that was a missed opportunity for me.

In a Pacifist Run, Frisk can tell Undyne anime is real. In a Genocide Run, Undyne MAKES anime real through SHEER. FREAKING. DETERMINATION. Also, the sound effects add so much. The gasp, the yell as she takes the hit, the crunching and cracking as she's dissolving. Then the WHOOSH, as she literally throws herself towards her foe with one arm, and above all else the SONIC BOOM when she hurls her spear. So well done!
Okay, I'm not a stranger to seeing great undertale animation, but not only is the animation up there, top 5 at least, but the voice acting is bar none.
Well Monster Kid's voice is a pretty generic "woman trying to sound like a young boy" voice, and Undyne doesn't come off with the roughness she has in the game.
this is by far my favorite animation for this bit of the game. it really shows the intensity of her breaking down and the triumphant turnaround of her reforming (refusing?) and becoming even stronger than before, becoming a true hero. the closest thing to a more detailed translation of events that ive seen so far. plus the voice acting is very decent, which i think is critical to this scene hitting as hard as it does
Actually, like with all big fandoms, there is a VERY vocal cringe-fest minority. The majority of us know how to keep our heads down and not be idiots. That's why you don't often see the non-cringe side of fandoms and why the big ones constantly have a really bad name. It sucks, honestly, having your fandom called 'cancer' all the time just because of a few idiots that can't keep their big fucking mouths shut.
First time here and i already watched this 5 times in a row. Fucking hilarious artwork, so incredibly epic, just captured that moment in a perfect way. The flavour of the anime-like transformation paired with her believes and determination, the attention to details like the sonic boom made by the gigant spear plus the fitting music... THIS IS DEFINITELY AN EPIC BATTLE AGAINST A TRUE HERO AND THIS ANIMATION GOT THAT ESSENCE.

Not because I wanted to fight... but because I knew that Undyne couldn't die that easily and also because I wanted someone to stop me killing everyone :) But she failed and I felt something weird. This is amazing! When it appears that nobody could possibly stand a chance vs Chara, Undyne rises up to become the true hero as the only one who can trade hits with them.

I'd say it was your Determination that manifested into a shield. That or you could say that the amount of magic Undyne is outputting in her second phase is strong enough that you can use it too or it's something to do with the battle, like whenever you face her your soul is green by default. In a Pacifist Run, Frisk can tell Undyne anime is real.
In a Genocide Run, Undyne MAKES anime real through SHEER. FREAKING. DETERMINATION.
Also, the sound effects add so much. The gasp, the yell as she takes the hit, the crunching and cracking as she's dissolving.
Then the WHOOSH, as she literally throws herself towards her foe with one arm, and above all else the SONIC BOOM when she hurls her spear.
So well done!

Okay, I'm not a stranger to seeing great undertale animation, but not only is the animation up there, top 5 at least, but the voice acting is bar none.

Well Monster Kid's voice is a pretty generic "woman trying to sound like a young boy" voice, and Undyne doesn't come off with the roughness she has in the game.

this is by far my favorite animation for this bit of the game. it really shows the intensity of her breaking down and the triumphant turnaround of her reforming (refusing?) and becoming even stronger than before, becoming a true hero. the closest thing to a more detailed translation of events that ive seen so far. plus the voice acting is very decent, which i think is critical to this scene hitting as hard as it does

Actually, like with all big fandoms, there is a VERY vocal cringe-fest minority. The majority of us know how to keep our heads down and not be idiots. That's why you don't often see the non-cringe side of fandoms and why the big ones constantly have a really bad name. First time here and i already watched this 5 times in a row. Fucking hilarious artwork, so incredibly epic, just captured that moment in a perfect way. The flavour of the anime-like transformation paired with her believes and determination, the attention to details like the sonic boom made by the gigant spear plus the fitting music... THIS IS DEFINITELY AN EPIC BATTLE AGAINST A TRUE HERO AND THIS ANIMATION GOT THAT ESSENCE.

3:45 I smiled the same way when I first saw Undyne becoming Undyne the Undying... Not because I wanted to fight... but because I knew that Undyne couldn't die that easily and also because I wanted someone to stop me killing everyone :)
But she failed and I felt something weird. This wasn't happiness or relief, this was something close to emptiness and despair.
The lesson Toby gave me is that sometimes, when we made to much things to satisfy our curiosity, we actually lose. The "win" against Undyne was my Game Over. I resetted the game just after that.

Aleksa Gaming but with the options available, the only way to ensure that Chara doesn't just fade away like Asriel one must play the genocide route should they can give Chara their soul, a catch 22 unless you can hopefully defeat Flowey's philosophy (best assumed that you can based on Chara's confusion from the second genocide) and then of course the pacifist route which gives everyone the happy ending they desire.

I'd say it was your Determination that manifested into a shield. That or you could say that the amount of magic Undyne is outputting in her second phase is strong enough that you can use it too or it's something to do with the battle, like whenever you face her your soul is green by default.
That or it's a game and the animation is epic so why nit pick?
