Love your vids. My wife overheard me the other day watching you and she now calls you the fugly shrimp guy and watches with me. She loved how you called them fugly and laughed. The only videos she will watch with me about shrimp are yours haha

Your videos are always the first ones I watch! They have been so helpful since I’ve only been keeping shrimp since June of last year. I found myself shaking my head yes when you were talking about washing your hands. I remember that from one of your videos a while back when I first started and I always wash my hands before I stick them into the tank.

My dogs always think I hate them when they get flea meds, making them sad when I won't let them climb on me lol. I've heard so many horror stories about insecticides and shrimp. At my job, I handle large amounts of herbicide concentrate, mix, and spray 100s of gallons of herbicide mix every day at work. So being aware of what possible contaminates I may be bringing into my tanks is always a huge concern, of course, I am a professional pesticide handler and have received hours of training on how to avoid unwanted contamination, its always on my mind. Local guy just around the corner was really getting a shrimp farm going, bought loads of my shrimp, with him having identical water to me, his shrimp colonies were booming instantly. Come home and his wife had let off bug bombs, not a single shrimp lived in his entire house.
I have been an air freshener and cologne/perfume, candle police for years lol, my family loves it lol
Another great vid, love the caridina vids, since I have very little knowledge on what actually makes good caridinas. Appreciate it 👍

With Neos I’m not sure what the ideal or minimum size is to cull at? I’ve had some nearly clear babies later colour up nicely. What’s you’re rule of thumb on this, and does it vary by colour of shrimp?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks

Here comes a big question... ive been watching my Gh climb high, while the Kh stay pretty low, too low for my liking... i have been adding "shirakura" mineral supli powder, and i have root tabs... tds 195... what do you think is goin on?

@@2869may thanks, i ended up just getting a larger tank. I have a dozen babies so they are gonna need the room anyway. The water has been cycling some original substrate and i have the Kh balanced properly. Just waiting on the transfer when things are perfect.

@@CreepX That's great..! Don't rush it..! when you transfer drip acclimate VERY slowly...! (several hours)
I switched tanks with my yellows that were breeding good, I used about 60% of their tank water and 40% new water... They stopped breeding for months....!
Stable water conditions are absolutely key.!

If you did no culling would you potentially see the shrimp revert back to one solid color ? Or would the patterns just continue to become less of what your wanting if that makes sense.

    • @MarksShrimpTanks

it would just get messy, I have not culled that tank for more than a year and it shows.

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
