never known a band who can balance remaining fiercely independent, sticking to their own terms and their own principles, while remaining inclusive, friendly, and welcoming to all their music is like a friend covering you with a blanket and setting a glass of water next to you at the end of a heavy night

When I listen to this I'm kind of happy and sad at the same time. Melancholic at it's best. This album feels like my past teenage years where I couldn't sleep, sat by my open window all night, secretly smoking cigarettes so my parents wouldn't know and looking at the stars only in my underwear some oversized a hoodie a random boy borrowed me and my cozy socks. I felt alone and was graving someone to share this moment with but in the end I was happy to have this moment all by myself because I knew no-one could ever experience this moment as I did. And that also made me happy and sad at the same time.

When I first heard Men I Trust, they weren't the type of music genre I generally listen to, but they're creativity just pulled me in.. but this album, just made them go to the top of my favorites list. They stayed within their realm, but also went out on a limb and its perfect!!!
I am currently undergoing my second cast on my left foot so far in 2023, thinking with my family about the possibility of ankle surgery in the future. I'm angry, tired. At the same time, I am getting rid of the vague hope of love and a future together that I felt for a friend that I really loved very much. University is not being so pleasant, it is a constant feeling of loneliness that only gets worse with each semester I spend in college. Right now is not my best stage. Finding this band, with their music, relieves me a little. It feels nostalgic, happy, optimistic and that makes me feel good. Really thank you.
There's music you like because it's popular, because the looks, the lyrics, the history, someone special or because they're great musicians. Then there's the music that touches your soul, that's it right here folks.
This came out when I first started college. This album was exactly how I felt about starting adulthood. A foggy reminiscence to the past, a tired yet upbeat feeling. The feeling of seeing the world as it actually is at the moment and gratefully accepting you as you are all in truth. This album will forever be a blanket that shys away my newfound adult responsibilities for at least 30 mins 💗
"Sugar" is probably one of my favorites. That sweet bassline gives it the perfect seasoning! And Emma's vocals are softer than cotton candy. What a wonderful song!
This has to be one of the best albums of 2021 and a breakthrough in indie music. Men I Trust were really able to evolve their sound without relinquishing their previous sound. Amazing production, Tree Along Shrubs is going to be a classic!!!!!!!! Beautiful music.
