    Omfg Emma, im shocked at the nurses mistake🤬 im just glad you was there to spot the nurses mistake. That should of been a sackable offence, they should of lost their pin & been struck off the register so there unable to work in nursing again.

      @@clairekilvert-jones7942 but how do you want to handle this in a private setting though, like in a patient's own home, with their relatives (or even children) as their caregivers? I once worked with an elderly lady, and I was told (maybe once or twice) how to give her medications (i'm NOT in the medical/health care field), and from then on, I was on my own. Thankfully I knew exactly what I was doing, but a lot of other people don't.

    • @clairekilvert-jones7942
      @clairekilvert-jones7942 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@nadlerskid well exactly. I work in vulnerable people's own homes and I am trained and insured to administer these heavy drugs, but nobody is checking that I am checking. I'm trusted. And for what it's worth, I am very trustworthy and follow procedure every time because mistakes can and do happen. I've seen it in my work with other carers. However they were not stopped or checked by a second person as that's not protocol. This is what outrages me. Money is preventing safeguarding from medical mistakes. Its much cheaper and more convenient to the system to let workers administer the meds on their own. Vulnerable people are harmed by this every day.

    Don't blame you for keeping your whereabouts private. You're so right. There are too many mental defectives out there. And for saving Sooz's life. My God!!! He was surely with you that day. There is no excuse for their negligence. That's the purpose of having 2 people sign off. Unbelievable...

    The hospitals are so bad. I'm terrified of them. I'm terrified of getting ill with something. I'm not terrified of dying, just of dying I'm a uk hospital. It is truly dreadful and I wonder how many die at the hands of badly trained nurses and doctors. Your sister was so lucky to have you by her side. Everyone with a terminal illness needs someone like you. I nearly got given the wrong blood in a transfusion. I noticed the bag said a o neg and I knew I was blood group ab. I was banging the alarm but no one came and I had to pull it of my arm myself as I could see it starting to go in and I didn't know what would happen. Then when I got the right blood I couldn't relax. I was terrified. I got the most severe heartburn from the transfusion and I was crying and begging for antacid. But no one would give me any until a doctor signed for it, which was going to be hours. It was so severe I phoned my brother and told him to get to the hospital with some rennies or anything for heartburn. He got there in half an hour and had to insist he was allowed to see me. The nurse tried to stop me taking the rennies but I was so ill I had too and made my brother stand in front of me while I took them. I felt better within a few minutes and calmed down significantly. It was another 5 hours before the doctor got around to signing me some antacids. That kind of heartburn is not uncommon with blood transfusions. No one told me though. I hate hospitals. They do not feel safe or friendly. I hope you are doing okay. It's awful you got some people trolling you. Sometimes its really hard to understand humans. I came back to add something as don't want to spread misinformation that it was explained to me by the doctor that i could have a transfusion from a different blood group quite safely. It just would have took no time or effort if they had explained that to me before they hooked me up.

I work in social care as a carer, part time, and have done many courses on controlled drugs as i have to administer them myself - with no secondary sign off i might add (shocking, I know, but that's the state of social care) and I would NEVER have administered that amount, nor would i have given without going through the 6 R's. Every time.
    The right patient, the right medication, the right time, the right dose, the right route and the patients right to refuse. No exceptions, this has to be done.
    Bless you Emma, you are an absolutely wonderful amazing woman to have been your beautiful Sooze's advocate that whole time. Unfortunately, medical professionals cannot be trusted as we have seen on so many occasions, my family included. There are very few people who we can trust in this world.

    OMG...that's completely unforgivable! Thank God you had your wits about you. Careless mistakes can and do turn tragic. I truly hope those nurses will face consequences.

    After taking care of people in my life I can tell you that if your loved one is not able to voice their needs for themselves , family or friends need to be there. Humans can make tragic & terrible mistakes at any time. So sad but true. You are a warrior advocate for your family & a blessing. God bless you & soothe your broken heart.

    Ive silently watched your videos… I’ve been through a cancer journey with my mum, she was cured but I do think there is a sense of relief that you don’t have to be on the ball anymore and also your loved one is no longer in pain or being put through medical procedures. It’s such early days and you probably feel numb and still organising and sorting. My heart goes out to you. Be kind to yourself too, it’ll be a while before you start to process all you’ve been through… lots of love ❤

    You’ve been through so much - lost 3 very close family members in so short a time - so sorry - truly sorry - the Oxycodone drug overdose, which by the grace of God you prevented from becoming fatal for Suzie, was a horrific experience - you can see the PTSD trauma on your face & hear it in your voice. As far as I’m concerned those 2 nurses got off way too lightly. They can’t just chit chat their way through their very serious potentially life-altering work. I’m not surprised that you are ill after all this. Sending you healing vibes - for you and the whole family but especially for you❤❤❤

    😱 I’m shaking, with that information. Thank the Lord you were there, God Bless you Emma. What is infuriating is the fact how they make you feel because they are nurses, so they automatically put it across that they are right and you know nothing. They ain’t even polite about it either. They speak and look at you like how dare you question what I’m doing, I’m a professional. I once actually had a female police officer say to me once when I asked how she knew about something and her reply was “because I’m a professional police officer and YOUR NOT”
    At that point I lost it BIG TIME. I’m so glad you were there for her Emma. You are awesome and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise 💖Love & 🕯️Light 🙏 xxxx

I am just SO SO proud of you darling for standing your ground and saying something. That is unexcusable and in my opinion that kind of mistake i dont know that they should still be able to practice medicine. We completely understand why you couldn't say anything and im so glad its been taken care of. The things you have done for sooz is unlike any kind of sister love ive ever witnessed. You went above and beyond for her and it has been such a beautiful thing to see. Sending lots and lots and lots of love and prayers your way love. ❤💕❤️💕

    You've no idea how helpful it is for your subs to hear you advocate for the ill and the dying and those who care for them. I would love to think that I would be astute enough and brave enough to have challenged those nurses, but I think I might just have assumed I'D got it wrong! Maybe I won't be so quick to assume that now Emma. I thought I could not be more impressed by your strength & your courage Emmw, but I was wrong!! Please continue to take us on your journey going forward. So many people will benefit from it. Thankyou Emma & of course, thankyou Sooz & your lovely mum ❤

    First & foremost, my dear Emma, we are here no matter what! You don’t need to worry about anything other than taking care of yourself as best you can while you work through the tremendous amount of things that need follow-up. The 2 nurses that participated in that life threatening medication error need more than a “stern talking to” & retraining. Something like a written warning & being assigned to only patients that can advocate for themself for a period of time. Thank god you were there. You are in my thoughts and prays as you grieve. Much love.💔🙏😘
