I had to agree with Cinemasins on that one though. "It really isn't. You can make more. And there are alternatives to fighting, as we learned from someone in the original trilogy... I forget who" in fact, doesn't Kenobi lose his later in that very movie?
I like to imagine Grevious with a severe gas problem instead of breathing issues. That would make for some very interesting encounters with his opponents.
I love his final saber design, because it reflects Kenobi in a wartime setting, foregoing intricate designs and details like the pommel and emitter for a rudimentary combat saber. No emitter shroud and a very basic flat pommel on a sturdy grip makes it a warrior's saber instead of that of a peacekeeper.
If only Obi-Wan had _gone back for his first lightsaber_ and found the service hatch to the base of that shaft.... "Maul, you're still alive? Well, we'll soon see to that." ...... "No, you're correct, killing a helpless prisoner is against the Jedi code. I'll call a medic and then take you back to Yoda, so he and Master Windu can question you."
I have to imagine there was like some reactor shit down there that the lightsaber fell into and got destroyed, and they just assumed that’s what happened to Maul’s body too.
That's all true up to the point of Obi-Wan dying at the hand of Lord Vader, he didn't die at all. If you look closely the most Lord Vader's blade could have done to Kenobi was singe his robes a bit, Obi-Wan just evaporated
I like how Obi Wan designed his first lightsaber after his master Qui-Gon and Luke's own lightsaber design in Return of The Jedi resembles that of Obi Wan's.
I love that this the case for most Jedi, where they often have a design like their masters and then branch off on their own- but it’s the reverse for Luke, who started with his fathers lightsaber, but his experience brought him to make a saber based off his master’s.
I love this saber design since Luke in episode 6 uses the same design to represent Obi Wan yet it’s more complete with its hilt showing differentiation
Ashoka who had 4 lightsabers: my first one I constructed as a youngling. Later, I started a Shoto blade, then I left. Then I can back and was gifted my first two lightsabers back. One was a regular one, and one was a Shoto blade. Then Rex and his friends tried to kill me, so I hid my lightsabers and turned my back on the force and the Jedi. And then, I decided to beat up an inquisitor who had two red kyber without knowing what an inquisitor was and that he was one, purify their crystals, and construct lightsaber #3+4. Oh, yeah. I lost light saber #1 at one point and got a Jedi librarian’s help getting it back. Anikin: …I’m very disappointed in you Snips. You lost 4 light sabers?! Ahsoka: I’m sorry, master- Hey, wait! You murdered younglings! Anikin: That is besides the point. What are yo going to do? Fight me with the FIVE lightsabers you lost? Ahsoka: I got rid of them willingly! And some of them were the same one... Anikin: you LIED to me about the first one.
This is actually incorrect. Her first sabers are actually the same ones gifted to her by Anakin. He had modified them to produce a blue beam instead of green.
They say he rebuilt his lightsaber before AOTC, yet you can see he has his lightsaber on his hip when they wait for Palpatine to land on Naboo at the end of TPM. Presumably, someone went down that shaft to pick it. Probably to also collect Darth Maul's body cause it's just bad hygene to leave it there. Yeah, I know TCW retconned him back to life, but in 1999 he was one dead mf.
Just imagine. You are a jedi, going on geonosis to save your mates in a war, and die on battlefield. But another jedi takes your lightsaber and give it to the mate you had to save, and he keep it for time. You did your job and youll know it trought the force
It would’ve been cool if Maul held onto and corrupted Obi Wan’s original lightsaber. Like, Savage finds spider Maul and he still has Kenobi’s lightsaber, except he bled the crystal and now it has a red blade. So that when he faces Kenobi, he fights him with his own weapon
Actually what happened: the consume department opened a suitcase and said “choose the one you like”. All that “designed it after his master’s handle” is bs.
There is no Emotion there is Peace. There is no Ignorance theres Knowledge. There is no Passion theres Serenity. There is no Chaos theres Harmony. There is no Death theres the Force.
Does anyone else think Obi-Wan should have been using the OG Alec Guinness lightsaber from Ep. 2 onwards? After he lost his original. To the average viewer it just looks like he somehow recovered his Ep. 1 saber.
It really does get on my tits when people don't even attempt to get military right. A battalion is commanded by a lieutenant colonel. A general, depending on how many stars, commands a brigade, a division, a corps or even a whole army.
Obi Wan wasn’t killed by no one. He gave himself to the force he could have easily taken down Vader and he did thrice - 1st as Anakins master, 2nd when anakin was turned to dark side and left him for dead (emperor found him & rescued) and 3rd when he met Vader in his exile protecting Luke in series “Obi Wan Kenobi by Disney” in the original trilogy as soon as Vader tried to kill him he disappeared making him wonder where Obi wan go. No one killed Yoda, Luke, Obi wan they all gave themselves to the force as true Jedi
Yes he actually did. In Lore, The Jedi masters we know of are so pure and elegant in the power of the Light Side of the Force that upon physical death, their physical body is instantly purified into Light itself, and their spirits become one with the Force. It wasn’t some disappearing magic trick; Vader sliced Obi Wan in half and his body exploded into pure Light.
Except he isn't a Jedi Guardian...😂😂😂 He is one of the few Jedi Sentinels! The Clone Wars TV series mentioned this! Lightsaber colour doesn't mean shit
Gosh isn’t it so crazy how ya boi got an upgrade in EVERY one of the prequel movies... in another unrelated fun fact did you know that George Lucas retained the merchandise rights after ANH?
That is so weird people keep talking as if vader killed obiwan what i saw on the movie the guy joined the force with his own choice without vader interference. What is wrong with you people?
The blue, green, yellow symbolism didnt exist in cannon Star Wars. That’s a thing that was introduced in KOTOR. Luke having a green lightsaber should tell you that. He was no consular. He was weak in the force compared to literally any other force user. He was a guardian like his father. The green was just because it had to be obvious that it was a new lightsaber for the viewers. As a matter of fact, until Episode 2, blue green and red were the only three colors. Yellow didnt exist. Star Wars video games are awesome and so is fan fiction but lets stop twisting George Lucas’s work.

Gotta love how he tells Aniken not to lose his weapon yet he’s replaced his 3 times
What do you mean? Three times for a time of warfare is pretty good!
He was just trying to warn him that the paperwork is a bastard!
Only 2 times he had 3 lightsabers. Replacing the 1st one and replacing the 2nd one. Your math is off.

He then loses it later in that movie

I always liked how Luke’s saber when he made it, was modeled after Obi-wan’s. I’m sure Vader noticed this when he activated it on Endor’s forest moon

Can you do a vid on what happened to obi wan’s lightsaber after his death, thanks! Love the content
Vader took it as a trophie to remind himself that he defeated his former master then after his death Luke retrieved it
Thanks
Oof, His saber has been going places and having Adventures without its Owner 😅
I feared you'd forget the modifications he made during his time on Tatooine. Too many RUclipsr ignore the little details. Nice you mentioned it!👌🏻😀
Simple yet elegant
I recently got his lightsiber hilt from ep 3, love the design. To me it's elegant and sleek

its so cool to see him growing and slowly moving past qui-gon and his death, not trying to be like qui-gon anymore and becoming his own self
My favourite is his first
the first two were too easy to drop
He has such good lightsaber taste
Darth Vader never killed Obi-Wan, Kenobi just assimilated into the force at that very moment

Something ive never been clear on. Are light saber blades flat or round? Seems like both sometimes.
He didn’t die at the hands of Darth Vader! Vader’s lightsaber cut through nothing!
In legends, he used Qui-Gon’s blade for a few years
I think it’s funny he told aniken about losing his lightsaber but yet lost his so many times 😂
I always wondered why he never changed the color of his lightsaber too green
Does the death count if he went into the force? He didn't get a hit in. He vanished. That's why Yoda sent him somewhere to learn to do this
You actually missed the fact he used qui gon's lightsaber shortly after his death he then made the lightsaber for the second movie
And he tells anakin not to loose his light saber
Is it specified somewhere that blade colors have special meanings ?
Can you d n evolution of Anakins lightsaber

What if Maul picked up that lightsaber and used Kyber crystal in it to build his own lightsaber during CW?
