    Did I miss something or does this video end just when we're getting to the good stuff?? How do you make it look like a flower?

    That's a very easy pattern for knitting a flower , tried a few before and gave up , here in the UK , we call bind off a different name as in cast off , my friend has been asking me to knit her a red poppy for Remembrance Day we have here in the UK , 11th November each year , that will do nicely also I badly damaged a favourite mustard coloured cardigan using one of those bobble removing machines , now its full of tiny holes , but now using your little flowers as motifs I can upcycle my cardy again , thank you so much for sharing !!

    My first flower 🌹 not the greatest, but I am still new to knitting and learning everything. But it was easy to follow and I can't wait to make more thanks so much 😁

    I’m used to making tightly formed cabbage roses on dpns for embellishments on hats and scarves. Now that my hands are arthritic the way I used to make the roses is too difficult for me. This is a pretty and an easy flower to use instead. My youngest granddaughter loves a few on her hats! Thank you so much for sharing this!

    Thank you. I found a pattern using the same method of shaping thru bind off, but it did not have the four rows of knitting to start and came out pretty small. Will be using to dress up a hat.

    Very nice explanation. You didn't say how many rows to do of the stockinet stiching. Four doesn't seem enough for the full size. Is it 8 rows?

    Is there a possibility of a video showing the wet blocking process to get the shape?

    • @elizaduckie7110
      @elizaduckie7110 3 года назад +2

      The closest video to give you what you need is this one showing how to block crocheted motifs. The principles are the same. “Wet blocking” can be used for any fabric but “steam blocking” is entirely different! It can melt, or make so limp acrylic or acrylic blends, it is said to “kill” the fabric. Done properly (otherwise you will melt it) the acrylic fabric will drape and be silky, but will not hold a shape. For flowers you need them to hold shape.Watch the first motif being blocked as well, but ore relevantly she blocks a star shape in the second bit, at about 1:47.

    I have this pattern where you say draw the petals of the flower to the center with a single stitch. Please explain where you position your needle to do this

    What size needles and wool did you use?

  • @riannaanoff
    @riannaanoff 6 лет назад

    I know its trivial, but I just can not see how you got the centre of the flower off the needle. the first time I did it, it all unravelled and I cant see how you do it. i've watched over and over in slow motion????

    • @choc_chip
      @choc_chip 3 года назад +1

      Agreed! I'm halfway through with 51 stitches, thinking I was making the full-size version but I seem to be headed for a 10-petal flower. I can't see why the 'demo' version isn't the only version?

      Not for a beginner. She goes so fast with a lot of new terminology for a beginner. :( I use to speak a lot faster. You just end up losing your intended audience.
