Sweet Yellow Rice

One of my favourites. I make this rice at least once a week!
Sweet Yellow Rice is a traditional Cape Malay dish usually served with bobotie or roast, frikkadel and goes well with any meat n gravy dish.

Why is it necessary to rinse the starch off the rice, please?

To get rid of as much starch then you get separate grains
