Thanks for this, my internet download speed seems to be a lot more stable, barely going under 1.0 Mb/s
did this step by step and i am really impressed. I have been struggling the whole weekend with my connection. I did the speed test and the ping was around 110 and download speed was about 0.63.... After doing these steps i ran the speed test around 4 times with a ping between 20 and 30 and getting download speeds of over 2Mbs on a 5Mbs line .... THANK YOU SO MUCH

It's not the same server always on speed test.net so one time you might get 50 and 5 mins later you might get 18ms. I've done it without any tweaks, the ping they show is not something you should rely on.
The dns server you set is totally up to you . You can try to do ping 1.1.1.1 and ping 8.8.8.8 in the windows command promt to see which has a lower ping and than set that as your dns server

I used to use do this sort of tweaking years ago and even used this program many times in the past. I read that Windows 10 does not need any tuning as it handles it automatically. I tried the program again today and my internet rating went from a 'B' to 'A'

some reasons it up to 4k ms for 5~10 sec's and i still wonder how to fix it.
Even though this vid is 2+ years old, it fixed my network issue. Upgraded to Vivid 350 (350mbps) but I was capped at 200mbps. Using a Cat6a ethernet cable and a new NIC. It was baffling me for days... Came across this video, followed it to the 'T'. TCPoptimizer was followed exactly. Newer version of Spybot had things all over the place, but managed to immunize. Restarted PC and now I'm getting on average 380-388mbps... You've just earned yourself a sub, friendo.
Virgin is great for downloading but sky, talk talk etc are about 4x better for gaming due to lower latency and ping. Wouldn't recommend virgin for a multiplayer gamer
@@MrEditsCinema I disagree, my latency is usually 6 or 7ms, my dad still has SKY at his place and my latency is in the mid 30's when in over there. Never had any issues either other than this hiccup which was solely down to my PC's settings. :P

A little info for you guys. SpyBot application is nothing to be afraid of. The reason he says if you are skeptical about it then just skip it is because of the name. People are worried that since it’s called SpyBot that it is an app that spies but it’s quite the contrary. It’s actually defending you from being spied upon. What I mean by Spying, is that Microsoft defaults allow Microsoft to receive data from your computer logs to “help improve” the operating system. Meaning that if any errors occur, that they will be able to look into it and either create a fix for it, or to locate any bugs. Sometimes there is not a way to to decline that ability. SpyBot locates and closes any or all open doors that allows that to happen. This will help with saving bandwidth and network speed so you can use all available bandwidth and network speed to be used when you need it most. Nothing sucks more than running a speed test and seeing you have a D/L speed of 20mb/s and an U/L speed of XXmb/s and then your game still lagging or losing connection. When he talks about running “gpedit.msc” and going to the Network folder->QoSPacket->Bandwidth Reserve, Windows reserves 20% of your connection for background processes like live updates, constant information gathering and sending, notifications, etc. Changing that value to “0” will revoke the permission of allowing them to reserve that 20% of bandwidth so you can use 100% (instead of 80%) towards the processes you want/need. If anyone wants any further explanations as to what each thing we change actually does, represents, etc. feel free to comment on my comment thread and I will respond as quickly as possible. Usually Panjno explains in depth as to what he is doing and what is actually changing and why it works but with this tutorial there is just TOO MUCH being changed and if he were to explain it all, it would make this video either 3 hours long, or have to be broken into many different smaller videos. But I am here to help explain if needed. Take care all!

Well I'd be all for it! Especially the newer RX 580 Cards (Sapphire Nitro+ is mine). There are literally no real guides as to what to set anything at so I've just been changing things and testing myself. My frame-rates go from like 250 all the way up to 530/600 at times, but in the past they've been more stable.

Well. It worked! My ping went from 234ms to 43ms on the speed test. I didn't do the gpedit.msc step cause I guess it got removed from windows 10 or something, and I didn't do the spy net thing but still a drastic improvement! so if you are looking to improve you internet speeds if it pretty bad i definitely would recommend this. Oh yeah and my upload and download improved a little bit if that matters to anyone.

Ok im on a wired connection but when im downloading games my connection will go to 35 mb/s and then will fall to 0 it does this in steam and task manager plz help
this is due to steam having to wait for your hard drive to catch up before it can download more.
When TCP falls to zero it means its your PC that cannot keep up. Steam is scooping the data out of the TCP buffer after each window is fully acknowledged. If Steam can't do that fast enough TCP is forced to call for a zero window condition and tell the server to hold off. Like the other users said, its most likely your hard disk, but it could be any systems resources.

only used tcpoptimizer and the ping dropped about 60, mbps download went up by 5.2 (literally from 0.7) and upload went up by 2 mbps. not a huge deal, but it's still really good. thanks man!

if you type ipconfig in your cmd you will find one that is nearly identical but always starts with the 192.168.0.

You can do a benchmark dns test to see which one is better for you

Aye man didn’t expect this to work but my speed went up from around 115 to now ab 130 not a huge jump but I’ll take it. AND a big thing is that it’s not very consistent and doesn’t really drop below 100 which is used to drop to ab 12 every once in a while great vid man that’s a like.

My internet was absolutely fine before I used this method. Now, my choke on CS:GO is 20% consistently. I have tried reverting the TCP Optimizer back to Windows Defaults but it hasn't done anything???
