I read somewhere that Carson jogged. He was cute.I always liked that curtain behind him, it's so pretty with all those colors.1982...I was 21.His monologs are full of history. He and Bob Hope are the icons of American stand up comedy. I don't think my parents ever missed an episode of this.I watched it even as a child, during summers.
My Step-Dad used to let me stay awake just so I could hear #TheGreatest do the opening monologue, then, off to snooze This brings back great memories😂😂😎😂😂...thank~you for sharing!!
"A Speed Bump on the Road to Ecstacy:" The new novel in the Johnny Carson erotic literature series. 😂 Also loved 7:20 - 8:00 Best late-night show line EVER. 🤣👏🏽
Alright, I'll update the description to include that info. In my defence, I posted this a while back, and would've included that info nowadays. And this channel's specific focus is Calgary TV broadcast history, not TV history in general. (Note the unique CFCN logo they added to the Tonight Show graphic in this case, and my description "..as it aired on CFCN at 12:00 AM on Monday October 4 1982.") But again, you still have a good point. Thanks for watching and pointing that out. All the best!

Not 1 joke about Reagan OR any politician whatsoever!! What is the problem with the late night guys Of today?? Why can’t they do this exact same thing??
@@whatdidoursurveysay Regan did suck. It just took a couple of decades before his crappy reganomics degeneracy policies screwed the country up good. But people then didn’t really care. They just wanted cheap gas.
CFCN is CTV Calgary. But I thought Global was the national station that aired “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” during the 70’s up until his last show in 1992.
Let me inform you. People taped these things on Betamax, 30+ years ago. I don't control what they taped. I just post what I find. Sorry this wasn't to your liking.
That buffoon of Canadian hockey broadcasting Don Cherry, calls himself a 'sharp dressed man'. I guess he never saw Carson ! "Yah Don, if you're a pimp."
Really miss this guy. Love the way he plays with and uses the audience.
Even when he bombs he was great. RIP Johnny.
Johnny is even funny when he's struggling or a joke falls flat. A true master.

As I read your comment that he's cute, and the pretty colors...OMG! I had to look up top. What a relief your name's Michelle and not Michael!!! Whew!
Mr. Carson may have jogged but unfortunately, he also smoked and it was his smoking that ultimately led to the emphysema that killed him
Even on an off night he is funnier than anything we have on late night tv today
Gregg hummer , you got that right.
Yes yes
Without a doubt
So true.

Johnny explaining about the G spot is something I never knew I wanted to watch.
Watching a middle-aged man struggle to explain the G-spot was the best part of this routine.
The only comic I ever seen who could be hilarious when he bombed.
The Tonight show theme was composed by Paul Anka--everytime it played he got a royalty
So did Carson didn't he
Johnny was a genius comedian.
I was 19 when he aired his last show. I'm so glad I got to grow up watching this man. He was and always will be the GOAT.
8:06 - The "G-Spot". Carson, the G.O.A.T. of late night talk show hosts, nailed it. "A speedbump on the road to ecstacy".
Excellent
"He tried to get a bet down on the fairies." Damn, that was a great one, it just went over the heads of the audience.
Greatest show in the history of TV!
Id like to remind you this is free entertainment
His comeback about why the FAA doesn't charge people to come into a radio or TV show is incredible. I wonder if that was rehearsed

"Order garlic bread and they bring you a loaf of Wonder Bread...
And Vinnie breathes on it." I almost did a spit-take.
He really doesn't have to do anything, just stand there and people will feel great and have fun.
This episode aired 8 days before I left for Navy Boot Camp...
It was electric in the audience watching the build up....Carson was incredible.
Had such a crush on Johnny Carson when I was a kid. Thought he was so handsome and charming.
Still do actually, I’m 52 now😊
You knew it was always gonna be a fun night with Johnny.
The master. Mr suave.
no replacement, he was the best

Wish I could have seen Robert Blake on this show. Too bad it's just the monologue. Johnny was the best!
Perfection
8:55 I remember one time he said at the end of the monologue "We have a good show tonight" and someone yelled "when does it start?"
I never knew Johnny was on Canadian TV.
It ain't a rerun if you ain't seen it.
@burteriksson
Your point?
All of them dressed to the best that night.
RIP Johnny
Both Dr. Leopold Feckner AND Vinny Abruzzi's Little Touch Of Newark?
And also Robert's French Cuisine and 1-Hour Martinizing.
The correct original broadcast date for this Monologue is Friday, September 24, 1982. Posting rebroadcast dates confuses your viewers.

I was hoping Doc and the band would start playing Tea For Two, but alas, it was not meant to be.
I think Johnny did yoga. His poster is perfect. He looks like and acrobatic.
From the days when late night was funny and blessedly apolitical.
It was political, except that Carson roasted the idiot 9:50 politicians on both sides of the aisle.
Not 1 joke about Reagan OR any politician whatsoever!! What is the problem with the late night guys Of today?? Why can’t they do this exact same thing??
The Late night guys of today have no Class. Carson Had Class.
Because Reagan, by most accounts, didn't suck. Trump sucks.
Ever seen a Friars Roast? They joked, just not political ones.

He was trying to keep it G-rated...
Was there ever a monologue when he didn't adlib his way out of a joke that died?
❤😢😂‼️
Feckner invented the remote?

Carson would be nothing without Ed.
Wrong! TOTALLY wrong!
Ed was the perfect sideman and made the show better, but Johnny would have been great no matter what.
'Carson would be nothing without Ed.' Huh..?
He was funny but also a jerk
