Re. Helping others affected by the fire/similar situations - Was thinking maybe a race/event to help raise funds might be a good way to go? Could be both a real & virtual event perhaps? Yes, very great idea! Thanks for that 🙏🏼! I'm thinking maybe a Virtual 5km could work? I might be able to live stream something too. But we can hopefully get a lot of runners in the community from around the world to take part and help with this kind of event. We'd donate 100% of the funds evenly to our many neighbors who lived there and had their apartment burn down as well. I'm trying to think of ways to be able to track down all those people and have a way to actually distribute it to them though? Some people have some personal GoFundMe links, but I'd like to try to reach as many of the victims as possible. Thank you to everyone so much 🙏🏼! The Running community is full of so many kind and generous and thoughtful people ❤️

When you start crying every time you talk about the support of the running community it's such a testament to how running is about more than just running. I'm typing this through my own tears of how powerful this is.
Man it's been a tough year for you and Sandi..... just know, it gets better. Great to see you thinking about how you can share the support you guys are receiving with others in your building who do not have that same support. I feel like this might be an important step for you in getting beyond this challenging time....

This is usually at or near the top of most peoples’ worst nightmares, and I know you’ve had more than your share of troubles lately. My closest friend from childhood had her house burn to the ground when she was a child, while her parents were on a trip and she and her sisters were at school. So I know how traumatic it is to lose everything of sentimental value, let alone the inconvenience factor of everything else. My heart goes out to you guys. I hope the insurance aspect turns out to be less arduous than you expect. Martha
Your page has helped me with my running and getting prepared for my PT test for. Coast Guard boot camp - I leave in December. I have lost many memories in a fire roughly 15 years ago so I feel your pain. It’s devastating. Hang in there and know your videos have had a positive impact on many peoples lives in different ways. I really feel for you both so much. Just because people didn't die, it doesn't mean everything is ok. Your home and nearly all your possessions were destroyed, it's just horrible. This combined with your illness earlier in the year must really make you feel like you've been kicked when you're down. I'm glad you have a good support network at least. Sage and Sandi, I just can't imagine losing a home this way - honest statement. I've lived in 3 different places since having to move out of my rental home of 9 years last month. It's been hard but I had time to keep a fair amount of my belonging in a storage unit (for as long as I can afford to pay for the storage unit lol). Having to move due to a fire is a different ballgame entirely. I have nothing close to what you have in terms of support - however, you guys have worked hard as athletes, business owners and coaches. You deserve all the support that have! I think of you both often and wishing you the best, good days ahead and of course - good outcomes with insurance 😃

Dear Sage (and Sandy) life sometimes hits you in ways you couldn't even imagine. This whole year was really tough and even though you may not realize it yet - it probably made you stronger. Soon you will remember all this and it will only be a memory. You're alive and healthy, you have each other and the rest will solve out too.

Yes it's a struggle, but it's not a struggle alone dear Sage. The people of Boulder & Denver were largely responsible for me getting a record deal and I know anyone can turn up there and feel loved immediately. You're in a good place to recover from such trauma. Well done on reaching out! Reuben x

Lost a storage unit to fire earlier this year and had a lot of sentimental items. Can only imagine how hard it must be to lose your home. I hope things get easier.

On October 3rd, 2:29 AM we wake-up with the noise of Firemens fighting a fire in our basement (4 units building), I will not give details surrouding fires but hopefully everyone is safe, we spent the first week in a hotel and now have been re-located for the coming months, so I pray for you and Sandy and hopefully you are safe, wishing you a better life, the best is yet to come 🙏

Sage, you and Sandi will get through this stronger than you were before. You mentioned how you can help others impacted by the fire. What if there was a place we could send new/slightly used shoes and clothing for them? I have some running shoes and clothing that I never wear and would be happy to mail them for them to be given to those that lost everything.

Hello Sage, life is hard sometimes. But we always have to start over. Last year I spent along time in the hospital and in rehabilitation. I thought that I could never run anymore- Running was a big part of my life since the last 35 years. In addition, a few other things had falled because of the pandemic. Today I'm in good shape and hope that everything else works out again. I can run again every day and I have a nice Job in the library of the Vinzenz Pallotti University in Vallendar (Germany).
