- Balancing a steady offense with an active defense helped Clemson to earn a dominant 42-21 home victory over Georgia Tech. The Tigers’ defense only allowed 254 total yards in the win, and they picked off 4 Haynes King passes. Offensively, QB Cade Klubnik passed the ball 34 times for 23 completions, 205 yards, and 4 touchdowns. Will Shipley scored a touchdown in his return on the ground, as he and Phil Mafah carried the rushing load for the Tigers on 28 combined carries and 173 combined yards. Georgia Tech RB Jamal Haynes rushed for 104 yards in the loss.

What I find most incredible is that Klubnik passes for a 68 percent completion rate AND is making quick throwing decisions. Backfield looking good. Defense looking beyond stellar after a tough 1st quarter. Go Tigers!

Saw a bunch of ga tech fans saying it would be close because Clemson isn't a world beater anymore. My only response is just wait. Today our freshman played better than our starters did. We have some of the best young men in the country, and the engine is starting to spin again.

As a Ga tech fan I will say that this is the first game all year where Ga Tech just didn't have the talent to keep up and that includes the games against Louisville and Ole Miss. I'm not too discouraged we just lost to a team that could be top 10 right now if they started out better.

Will have to get used to Riley's offense and the QB throwing so much. In the Trevor and Deshaun years the only time we ever saw the pass totals this high is if it was needed.
With the exception of the fake punt, a well called game by the coaches
And I don't think it was as bad of a call as it seemed. I think Georgia Tech just made the better play. They probably saw something on film that made them think it would work.
That was a terrible play call who ever called that needs laps after laps 100 pushups at least

Clemson played really good defense and their coaches called a great defensive game, however, GT coaching did not have a plan to counter. You cant abandon the run and today you needed D Smith #4 in a big portion to hammer the middle. The swing pass should be scuttled when the opponent shuts it down 3 times in a row.
Today you needed screen passes up the middle, crossing routes by your speedy stable of WRs.
GT lost its edge and momentum from dropped passes and giving up that big 3rd down before the half. They should have easily had 21 pts in the first half. Haynes King had a tough day, seemingly broadcasting every throw and only throwing to Singleton.
Should have fed #4 D. Smith more and found a way to get other targets involved.
Playcalling was too one dimensional and they finally found a way to incorporate tight ends but by then it was over.
GT defense was playing well enough but 4TOs is just too much to overcome.
This game should have been much closer but Haynes King just presses and loses his head when he feels he has to do to much.
This game is on coaching, Clemson had the right Def plan and GT had no answer.
As a Tech fan I couldn’t agree more with you. I didn’t know if we would win but I thought it would be close. We need to beat Cuse to become bowl eligible because this will be our last chance tbh. If Tech has 6 wins going into UGA game they will have fun. But with 5 wins morale will be low.

There were a few penalties scattered throughout the game and a PI called on a 4th down them that led to GT’s last score.
