    Idk what’s wrong with my scrap yard but I just brought in a broken down CT scanner 3000 pounds of solid steel and they gave me “torch iron” which is less than scrap. I’ve never gotten “prepared steel for prepared steel which I thought was more money than scrap????? Have you ever gotten the torch steel category thrown on your ticket???????

      I don't even know what torch iron is. lol I've only gotten shred steel witch is anything bigger than 4'x4' , thin sheet and got plastic, wood, or insulation mixed in and #1 prepared witch is 4'x4' or smaller, clean and heavy gauge. They don't give you #1 prepared for transformer steel?

  • @whiz31
    @whiz31 11 месяцев назад +2

    It's probably a marginal profit but it'd be a way to deal with it. There are companies that recycle glass that's clear which is what you're getting out of those lights if you'll bust it up into small pieces usually they'll bring you like one of those heavy lift bags that will pick up about two or three tons at one time.

      Interesting, I don't know if the steel would be good for holding an edge. Transformer & electric motor steel is called silica steel and is actually worth more money than #1 prepared steel but you need 20 tons to get the better price.
